  1. Well, I suppose you have to give him full marks for persistence! Rather turning into Groundhog Day isn't it? Thaksin moved to the prison hospital, Abhisit back as leader of the Democrats, keep an eye out for troop convoys, stocks of flowers in the wholesale flower markets and 7/11 special deals on cool boxes full of sodas to give the troops!
  2. Cynically, were he to die whilst in prison, there are those who would insist that his corpse was embalmed and kept in a cell until he had completed the sentence!
  3. It's BBC3, so no-one will watch it. A pretty standard hit job fronted by the channel producers latest blonde hottie whose talent was "noticed" on a dance programme.
  4. The visit, invitation and government crawling to the "Fragrant Leader" are Starmer's doing. Given that Trump is the complete antithesis of just about everything which The King believes in I should imagine that he is holding his nose both literally and figuratively. Such is the lot of a constitutional monarch.
  5. I doubt it. He is no threat to anyone anymore. Prince Andrew seems to be happily engaging in a slow motion car smash of his own making! He is out, disgraced, finished as an active member of the Royal Family who have actively rejected him. His vain attempts to reinsert himself result in public derision and are essentially ignored by the palace. He is heading for financial ruin due to his determination to remain in his grand mansion. No one really takes any notice of him, his irrelevance must be the bitterest pill to a man as self important as he is. His main real legacy now is that his bizarre Newsnight Interview will long be regarded, laughed at and studied by politics and media students alike as one of the stupidest attempts ever to manipulate the media. I suppose the bet that could be said of him is that "every family has one" - the Trotters had Rodney!
  6. For a real Lawyer you have a fairly casual approach to the burden of proof!
  7. Prince Andrew is alleged to have had sex with Miss Guiffre in London when she was 17. As the age of consent in the UK is 16, he committed no crime, however morally reprehensible one may find his behaviour. It is also alleged that he had sex with her in the USA when she was 17, below the age of consent in the US. If sufficient evidence, which would convince a UK court could be produced, and if the court thought that he would receive a fair trial in the US, then he could be extradited to face trial in the US; although the febrile atmosphere surrounding the whole scandal in the US, along with the death of Epstein whilst in custody might not sit well with extradition proceedings - " get your own house in order first?" As she was over the UK age of consent then I don't think that an extraterritorial prosecution could be brought. @FlorC is right, they have occurred but invariably for far more serious offences where the victim would be underage in the UK - the pop star Gary Glitter and very young girls in Vietnam for example. The bottom line is that he hasn't committed a crime in the UK.
  8. Yes, I believe it is called an insurance policy.
  9. Competence doesn't come into it. Loyalty is all. The key test is being prepared to turn the FBI into a tool of the fragrant leader.
  10. Maybe we did, but didn't want to embarrass you!
  11. He is, of course, totally within his rights to not confess and not cooperate. That is still the case in the USA isn't it? Incidentally, how long can they hold him without charges? In the UK it is normally 24 hours, exceptionally 36 hours. Any longer ( up to 96 hours requires the consent of a judge - rarely given).
  12. Seems pretty obvious to me, and no doubt to most of us, the point @swissie is making! One may or may not agree with it. But hey, don't let that stop you from picking a fight, or attempting to swamp us in a sea of pedantry!
  13. Now look, I say, we must be fair to the "fragrant Donnie ". We are yet to see unveiled his "concept of a plan" to replace Obamacare!
  14. What happened to Virginia Guiffre was abhorrent. Her suicide was tragic. An evil undertaking enveloped her as a young girl and destroyed her life. Prince Andrew's deeply unsavoury and oafish behaviour with her, as part of that undertaking has quite rightly resulted in his effective expulsion from Royal life. He remains a Prince because he is a Prince by birth. He could yet lose his status (effectively now meaningless anyway) as The Duke of York, that would require an act of Parliament; I suspect it will happen when in due course William becomes King. Meanwhile he is disgraced, out of public life and rightly so. There is no way back. But he has not committed an offence under British law. Has he committed an offence in the USA? Well the waters swirling around such offences and culpability, being held to account, in that jurisdiction are so muddied, befouled even, that realistically a lot of very and more significant other figures would have to fall first, and that is simply not going to happen. As I said, what happened to Miss Guiffre was tragic. It will forever be paraded alongside Prince Andrew until the day he dies. It now defines him. I feel sorry for her family, her brother. How can I put it, I wonder about his motivation. Prince Andrew is disgraced, broken, out. His mother the late Queen offered a settlement. It appears that he has not committed a crime in the UK (being a self entitled, deeply unpleasant nob does not count) so he can't be prosecuted; leave him to rot, exposed as a pathetic, oafish, dirty old man.
  15. I give up. I flew in, direct from Kuala Lumpur, last January. Several months later I again flew in from KUL, this time via Don Muang, again clearing immigration in Chiang Rai. My passport was stamped by the immigration officer manning the international arrivals desk. No doubt come the high season the flights from China will resume. I can only conclude that you are, for some reason, determined to start a fight over this. I am not going to indulge you. Goodbye.
  16. 1) No I most certainly will not post photographs of pages of my passport on a public forum. 2) Air Asia advertise non stop flights to and from Kuala Lumpur. That is pretty international. 3) I have flown on Air Asia to Kuala Lumpur to from there, both direct and via Don Muang. 4) The Terminal is well equipped with signs indicating International Arrivals and Departures. 5) The name of the airport also offers a bit of a clue -"Chiang Rai International Airport or Mae Fah Luang International Airport (CEI). " That last was cut and pasted from the Airport's website.
  17. Any evidence of that is at best anecdotal as far as I can tell. That it has gained traction however is quite a good indicator of just how far the Police Force have sunk in popular esteem - inevitably given the way in which they have been used to feed a partisan judicial system. An oft quoted statement (boast) is that in the UK the police "police with the consent of the public they serve". They are losing/have lost that with their reaction to recent demonstrations and events.
  18. Yes there are. I have flown out direct to Kuala Lumpur (Air Asia) and there are flights to and from from China.
  19. They are probably just around the corner donning their Palastinian headresses and facemasks...
  20. Transitting through Suvarnabhumi or Don Muang doesn't make the slightest difference. You stated that Chiang Rai airport has no immigration facilities. It most certainly does. Stop digging an ever deeper hole for yourself, "man up" and admit you were wrong!
  21. Yes it does. Earlier this year I flew from Kuala Lumpur to Chiang Rai, transitting through Don Muang, and cleared immigration at Chiang Rai Airport.
  22. I think it depends on wether the ultimate destination has an immigration desk - I know Chiang Rai does, so you merely transit through Suvarnibhumi. Of course it will depend if luggage is checked through as well.
  23. Careful with mascara and blusher - you wouldn't want to be mistaken for J D Vance!
  24. On the grounds that his name starts with "T"?
