Similar to as said above. I walk for kilos around the countryside here & ride the bike all over the place, alone. Feel much safer here than in many "multicultural " zones back in Oz.
But I'm sure if I went looking for trouble, it would easily find me.

Probably why I keep to myself and only talk to the girls!
And you get meaningful dialogue from the girls ?
Are you a true blue Aussie or an import ? Most of us genuine articles are pretty thick skinned, have a somewhat warped sense of humor & manage to sift through the forum & take what we want & leave the rest.
Maybe your idea of taking a girl & heading back home has some merit for you.

Firstly, I would like to congratulate the lady concerned on a job well done, I truly believe that it is high time more women stood up to this kind of behavior, I wonder how often rape occurs in marriages or long term relationships ? Far too many men believe it is their God/Buddha given right to have sex anytime they damn well please, time to turn the tables ladies.
Secondly can someone in TVF management please ensure that words like Bad, Nasty, SCUM, Pimple, Bum boil etc be removed from use on this forum, it upsets people very much and heaven forbid we upset people with sensitive natures.

SCUM, SCUM, SCUM. Ah, now I feel better.

Thanks A. But not sure meaning of "the local Bill" and "appropriate lunch".
Is this generalised or something I don't know about in Bkk?
Not Aussie slang I don't think.
reckon its about someone appropriate and taking a trip maybe??
Come on Joe, wakey wakey. I'm an old Aussie & I understand completely what was written. Local Bill ... local BIB. Appropriate lunch, as in bottle of booze, free meal, bribe, brown envelope. You know, motivation money.

Everyone has missed the most vital part of this story. The house was on stilts.

The OP can not edit the title.
I have done that.
Hope it is acceptable and helps to attract attention?
More than acceptable. Thanks BIG dog.

Cam, can I suggest you change the heading of your post ?
My guess is that most younger members wouldn't relate cobbler to shoe repair. Only us old farts would know what you are referring to.
Cobbler ..... a fruit pie with a thick upper crust and no bottom crust that is baked in a deep dish.
I passed over your post several times before taking a look. I originally thought you were looking for a bakery or cake shop.
Hope this helps.

I don't fully understand your question.
Do you want to purchase/order a particular book ?
I order/ purchase all my books from DASA in Bangkok. http://www.dasabookcafe.com/
Extensive range of books. Great service. Not expensive.
Hope this helps.

Poor woman . Not something that anyone expects when heading off on holiday. I do hope they catch the 2 alleged culprits and punish them fully according to the law. A precedent needs to be set that it is not acceptable at all to do this wort of thing to tourists, and women in general.
Surely you jest.
" and punish them fully according to the law." plead guilty ... first offence.
Judge warns them not to do it again. End of story.

I don't understand you have waited 3 months & not been to the dealer & demanded an explanation.
But hey, that's just me.

I doubt you'll find a fridge with a lock anywhere, except maybe a large commercial type.
Have you thought about fitting a lock yourself ? I've done it in the past. Quite simple really.
Fitting a hasp & staple with pop rivets is easy & does the job.
Hope this helps.

I acknowledge that Mods are not in the race.

There are no plural nouns in Thai.
Thais cannot pronounce the "s".
I think you are missing my point. I'm guessing the OP was written by a non Thai. I'm not commenting on Thais using their own language.
I'm questioning why non Thais say "bahts".
-
This isn't meant to be a flame ... but, why do people say "bahts" ?
1 baht, 2 baht 1,000 baht. No such thing as bahts.

"... in the back of beyond..."
In the middle of nowhere. Extremely remote place. Beyond the black stump.
