  1. Iv said it before and ill say it again..why woul dyou want to downgrade to XP from Vista???You cant use XP for the rest of your life because 'you dont like it' just gove it a go guarentee i week you will not go back!!

He would like to downgrade because he have the XP Software and the pre installed Vista Starter is: NOTHING!

    Difficult to understand?

And may to upgrade the Vista Starter to Ultimate, is expensive on one hand and may useless on the other because for the performance of that PC.

    Cheers.

Not as difficult as your English is to understand no....maybe you could benefit from this free service provided by google

    http://translate.google.com/translate_t

  2. ^ Maybe English is not your first language?

    Example:- take date first half 2002 {SE & NT 4.0 WKS mainstream support expired end of June that year}

From memory OS' operational {available to purchase} or under mainstream support by Microsoft Corporation at that time were.

    Windows 98 SE

    Windows ME

    Windows NT 4.0 Workstation

    Windows XP

    Windows NT 4.0 Server

    Windows 2000 Server

Now that would appear to be 6, or 4 if you want to argue the server editions are 'the same OS' and again this is only mainstream support not extended.

    Regards

O dear some people just dont like to be wrong..so i will walk into a PC world type thing 2mw and buy 4 previous versions of a workstation based operating system and will try to get 4 different server OS's hmm doubt it..

I would read threads before posting and ranting, i would say it is you that cannot understand english as i have said 3 times now its 2 Workstation and 2 server that is 2 workstation and 2 server that are supported..

So it will be Windows 2003 and Windows 2008 and it will be Windows Vista and Windows XP... nothing more nothing less and just for your petty argument ME was just a Y2K gimmic

    Jai yen yen dude :o

  3. Thank you. You answered quite a lot.

It will only be Gmail and I will manually check it every hour or so. So it looks like the prepaid sim is the way to keep going then.

I would love an Iphone but way out of my price range at the moment and too many features that I have to pay for that I don't currently need. I have been playing with my friends Samsung D900i. He bought it here on Samui for 6,000 Baht new. Anyone have any advice about this phone or its close relatives?

The one thing I don't like is when the slider is shut and the screen is dark, you cannot tell if you have an SMS or missed call. You have to "activate" the screen to see anything (time, date, single strength, etc.) I think because it is a large, color screen it would drain the battery quickly if it stayed on all the time but it would be nice to see if I have an SMS or missed called w/out having to do anything (like my cheap Nokia which constantly displays the time, date and missed calls and SMSs).

    Regards,

Im personally not a fan of Samsung or slidy phones but its personal preference,if your in the 6k bracket i would get a Nokia 6300 or a Sony K800/810i which is a good all round phone with a 3mp camera and pop/imap email support

  4. It really depends on hoew often you want to check your email and whether you have POP or Exchange email,

If you are using exchange for corporate email then i would say a windows mobile based handset as in my opinion are the best for that although you can get a application called RoadSync which does the same job on a Nokia phone..if you want to access it now and again and it is a normal gmail or any other POP email account then any mid range nokia will do the job..

As far as connection goes that also depends on how often you want to access email as you can program the phone to check at intervals of say every 1,2,5 or 30 mins and it will check and hang up when finished..this is okay on a normal pre paid sim with gprs activated as it will cost only 1 baht max to check your email evertime...If you want to have your email as soon as it comes in then maybe a post paid with a GPRS pakage will do fo you both AIS and DTAC will do unlimited GPRS per month for no more than 1000..

As far as internet goes the only phone i would even think about surfing on a lot is a IPhone every other phone including Windows Mobile or a good Nokia like a N95 are a novelty at 1st if you have never used one before but will quickly wear off as they are clumsy to use and not a patch on a Laptop or PC.

  5. ^ Pardon? You stated that MS would not support 4 OS' simultaneously, even though they have done in the past.

Windows 2000 Professional has extended support to 2010 with mainstream support retired in 2005.

Windows XP Professional has extended support to 2014 with mainstream support to 2009.

Windows Server 2003 has extended support to 2015 and mainstream support to 2010.

For comparison Vista Ultimate has mainstream support until 2012 with no extended dates applied yet.

    Regards

They havent supported 4 in the past thats just what you are saying and unfortunately you are wrong, like i just said they will support 2 of each, 2 workstations and 2 server products they will not support 4 of each or perhaps you could post a link to a KB that is for windows 2k and before recently

  6. Iv said it before and ill say it again..why woul dyou want to downgrade to XP from Vista???You cant use XP for the rest of your life because 'you dont like it' just gove it a go guarentee i week you will not go back!!

  7. ^ Why? MS at one stage were supporting 98, NT {aka Windows 2000}, ME and XP plus server products.

    Regards

I beg to differ Microsoft will only support 2 OS workstations(home user)2 Server's with patches, updates and support, so at present it will be Vista and XP and Windows 2008 and 2003, but a little for Win2k server while they phase it out

  8. I do appreciate that these things happen but I am also certain there are many more successful marriages than unsuccessful and more farangs living happily with their Thai ladies than there are failures of marriages.

    hrmm, debatable for sure.

    Yeah debatable to a pessimist

  9. you shouldn't be overly paranoid, for one thing. but some signs are- poor family, speaks good english, happily takes money when offered (or even outright asks for it) and doesn't pay it back, drinks/smokes/gambles a lot, has a "brother" hanging around all the time... i am sure many of the men on here can contribute.

I never saw one (woman) here in 4 years, that did not ask for or expect money and I am NOT talking about women I found in bars & massage joints, etc. Most, if not all, of my Farang friends have had the same experience, whether married or single, young or old. Money is the operative element here in relationships. It goes with the territory. If you want to test it, just decline requests for money and see how long she stays around.

I hate to be the one to say 'My missus aint like that' but to be fair she aint so all women aint like that...infact i occasionally and i do mean occasionally send her dad 1-2g when he is skint, and he actually told the missus as we are nearly havin a baby to stop sending him anything..and belive me this man is poor!!

    So it just shows...

  10. You only read about it because this is a thai forum, im sure what happens isnt exclusive to thai ladys and im sure western forums have a similar thing..IMHO you can ask for advice and seek out advice but id she is a wrong un then you will know ..its just whether you choose to kid your self about it!!
