I don't like them so can't comment on the quality but I seem to remember Simple Simon's did scotch eggs when I used to go there.

Sorry again any readers- the above is plainly too small to see. Meanwhile my friend has translated it for me so I'm going to leave it.

Well here's another challenge for the gurus.
A chap I know is in a similar position to the OP tho' I can't remember now if he lost his stuff or got it stolen. Can anyone help to decipher this lot as he wants to check it's accurate before he gives it to his insurance company?
Sorry dial up users- I can't seem to remember how to reduce the size of the image.

Dear Mods
Why is coalminer repeatedly being allowed to hijack this thread with his off-topic drivel?
coalminer, this topic is about Thailand possibly seeking Thaksin's extradition from Hong Kong; not General Franco, not Spain, not ETA, not Sondhi and not the PAD. Do try to keep up please!

Come on Soundman- you started this thread, put us out of its misery.

You Know You Are In Thailand When....
You cook some sausages, only to find the sausage skin is plastic
You buy some sausages and find there's more rice in there than sausage meat.

Lol- Google Thai to English translation strikes again.
Complete goobledygook!

I have seen literally hundreds of these for sale in Chatujak before on various occasions. Practically every seller had several for sale.
So they definitely do exist here, but I don't know how hot they felt.
Cute pup btw!
[edit to say: OK maybe tens rather than hundreds. About 100?
Also haven't been there for at least a year so they may not sell them any more having found that they can't handle the heat
and lastly, of course no one should ever buy a dog at Chatujak]

Wow, hats off to you Aanon.
My reading isn't exactly good anyhow, but when it comes to hand written Thai- all bets are off for me- not a chance. I didn't try for long as it all just starts to dance in front of my eyes but I couldn't get a single word (except for the English ones of course).

See Buffaloe, you have loads of new friends now.
Has that cheered you up?

The other option you might suggest is the overnight train arriving in Chumporn at about 6 am I think, allowing you plenty of time to make the boat options H2o mentions. More expensive, but you don't have to pay for a hotel for that night and if you're sightseeing then yes it's tedious (Being dark)- but get a bottom bunk and sleep; it's quite an experience- there's nothing quite like waking up earlyish and going to sit on the footplate as the sun comes up.
However, no-one I've ever met that has been to K Tao has anything positive to say about it, so good luck. (I have tbh honest tho' I've never been so I can't comment personally on the island).
Happy travels all the same.

Thai visa is not just for english speaking people it is for many other countries as well. Next time I post some thing I can post it in German,Dutch or what's so ever, you would not be able to read it and it also againts forum rules. Get a life.
Um, so Thai Visa is actually only for English speaking people then...

Jeez you two get a room if you're gonna carry on.

^^ Well that was pretty quick.
I wonder if the perps were aware of the CCTV cameras?
-
Sheryl, I don't mean to make you sound like a no nothing but have you waited a long time on the safe boot?
I've seen safe mode take 15 minutes to boot for no apparent reason. The scrolling white text on black screen is to be expected.

Definately

My local cheapo cable supplier (Not UBC) gives Ozzy network as free with its service (we also get the SA channels)- check your local supplier of stolen tv.
I'm not sure how this can be illegal as the buggers turn up and take money off us every month and have several offices in town.

^^ Hagler, hang on a minute, whilst you may be right that the OP has not immediately set up a perfect environment, she certainly seems to want to remedy that situation. I think you're being a bit harsh on her.
However, I can't disagree that the refuge has not vetted OR supported this new owner nearly well enough. Surely any refuge should be asking potential adopters if they have the basic environment to keep a dog?
I feel from the OP's posts that she is going to do whatever is necessary to make a safe environment for her dog, so maybe we should cut her some slack?

TritexEngineering makes a valid point.
For the OP some bedtime reading as you'll be stopping in for a while.
A guy I know got into just this sort of altercation and ended up with his face opened from forehead to chin by a cut-throat, lucky for him, the guys pals didn't join in . Another had a row and got jumped by about 8 guys a few weeks later. They broke his fingers and head with bricks.
No doubt someone will wade in and say I'm a poof and you have to stand up for yourself, but do you really think it's worth risking your life for? Farang do die in this country and who wants to be a statistic?
BTW I also wouldn't advise you go down there with an olive branch it is unlikely to be well received.
Good luck, but why don't you try KPG?

I like it a lot less than when I arrived 8 years ago. This is the 1st year that I'm actively planning to be somewhere else- Vietnam which I think is nearly as cool a place as LOS- but I just can't be bothered with it anymore.
Just getting old mebbe.

Any suggest?

Another fool.
MeetJohnDoe; as has already been pointed out on this thread by a mod your disgusting comment violates the rules.
How would you like to be poisoned?

Syd I love this crusade, it has a certain Viz quality. Wait tho' - I have to look at the new picture...

Come on guys let this thread pass peacefully in the night, or at least put it to bed- it's almost time for the 'I hate Songkran 2009' thread.

It does seem that this chap has been pretty badly let down by the embassy and badly treated by the Thai authorities. OK we know that you should be very cagey around officialdom, especially in this country, but enough is enough time to let the guy go home.
