  1. I guess you missed this part: Seeing his father, the young boy tried to cross the road and was hit by the speeding pickup.
  2. Not unlike the police officers in the UK that got away for years sexually assaulting women.
  3. With a bus full of kids. What an amazing country this is.
  4. I firmly believe that Thailand has become one of the most violent places on Earth outside of a war zone. We've got this waiter with a gun behind the bar. A couple of days ago someone was killed because he drew something on someone's head. We recently had someone knifing someone to death for turning off the wi-fi, and another because a tv was too loud. Someone else caused panic by bringing a gun into a restaurant - as one does. Another was found to have a gun in a nightclub. Land Of Smiles my ars*.
  5. It's Thailand. As Trink used to say, 'Nuff said.
  6. The vast majority of posts on this thread are abuse and insults. Pathetic.
  7. Long straight road too difficult for the driver to negotiate yet again.
  8. True. I had huge aggravation getting my Marriage extension at Kalasin, not long after several members of staff there were arrested for being too helpful to the Chinese. I asked the friendly and helpful IO who dealt with it all if it was because of the arrests, and he said it was and the new boss was making things difficult for everyone.
  9. Thailand attracts the bottom of the barrel. I've often been in hotels in Dubai with Chinese present, and they act impeccably and most certainly wouldn't do as you report.
  10. I've been using a fantastic service from a chap called Eric for a number of years now and have no complaints. I'd estimate it's fault-free well over 95% of the time and it works out at around 600 a month, paid quarterly. All the channels I could ever want and many hundreds that I don't, and on the odd occasion there might be a brief problem then he responds or informs what the problem is and that it's being dealt with.
  11. What a good thing that it didn't happen in the heart of the world-class city of Bangkok. Oh, wait.....
  12. Thai-style planning. The new airport was built on plans largely formulated in the 1960s, and they were shocked that within a few months it exceeded capacity and they were forced to reopen DM, at first by bribing Air Asia to return there. Let's hope that the new terminal is exclusively for flights to/from China, to clear space for the rest of us.
  13. And wouldn't it be great if a journalist actually asked such questions. Which they never do. They just listen to what they're told, and nod.
  14. Found in just one family, and they've recovered. Next story please.
  15. Every bar I've ever been in in Thailand charges 20 baht for pool. Thank you for enhancing the image of foreigners as cheap charlies.
  16. I assume that the 'luxury' condo had a sprinkler system, one that was in working order??? No? Oh dear.
  17. You missed this part.... the room's owner, received news of the fire remotely and confirmed no appliances were left plugged in,
  18. I wonder how many of these full flights contain passengers who are merely in transit. I've many times been on full flights from Europe but seen only 50 or so people collecting luggage.
  19. There used to be an hourly bus KK to Mukdahan but it stopped during the pandemic and there is now just one bus a day. Fairly frequent minivans now operate in their place if you want to risk them. The bus used to leave KK around 13.30 if I remember correctly (I last took it in October), which was pretty convenient for me arriving from Bangkok and transiting from the airport to the bus terminal. So based on that I guess it is scheduled to leave Kalasin around 15.00.
  20. And there was me thinking that the fascist thugs were his supporters who invaded the Capitol. Silly me. Are we sure there isn't Russian blood in him, denying the truth and perverting it to blame others?
  21. I'm sure we are all delighted that his problems are only fatigue and stress related, as after a nice rest in hospital he'll be fresh and ready to return to his jail cell.
  22. The article says he ordered two glasses of cola, but drank three beers. Isn't Thai journalism wonderful.
  23. Is there any other country, other than rogue states, who have convicted criminals in the government? Thailand truly is a third world banana republic.
