Another bag full of brown envelopes to be distributed! I can see some of some of the original people involved wringing their hands in glee, second round coming up. Go team Thailand!

They can go park them with the aircraft carrier--and I use that term loosely since it doesn't have any aircraft, at Sattahip naval base.

Seems every few years this project comes around with new city management. I remember years back when they took down all the coconut tress because of the danger to tourists, then a few years later they replanted coconut trees.....hmmmm. Gotta use up that budget or they won't get it next year!

Several bickering posts and etc have been removed. Time to end it.
EXACTLY, not just this post but too many valid serious questions/comments on this forum turn into a bickering stabbing contest between keyboard warriors that think they're experts on everything! Admittedly, forums are for people to voice their opinions but there's no need for some of the immature, uninformed comments some posters have left.
Bring on the "grow up, waaa waaa waaa, here's your tissue, go cry to your mummy" comments.

Sorry to hear about your situation, it's the same as mine but I'm in a different country. I don't expect to get back this year, and possibly not until someone comes up with a vaccine. Good luck to you in the future.

5555555, what a joke! Very rich family, very large brown envelopes changing hands........simple really.

Sure hope you're right about putting it to rest but based on past subjects I've read on here....probably not. Too many keyboard warriors out there with too much time on their hands.

What a joke! This will get the economy going again! (insert sarcasm)
Every time the gov comes out with something like this I always think it's the last.........but I'm always amazed when the next, more incredibly stupid statement comes out. It's blatantly obvious how they came up with the "Amazing Thailand" saying.

KInd of an oxymoron isn't it Mr. Meeseeks(?), obvious, might?
That's perfectly clear, especially since it involves info coming from the Thai govt. They put out so much clear, straight forward, definitive information, how could I have missed it? (insert sarcasm)

I've lived there full time for over 25 years so don't consider myself a "wannabe" expat. Some of us had to leave for work overseas, so didn't have a choice to get back before the airports closed. Everyone's situation is different and not as black and white as some TV members think.

rct99q, thanks for the info; it's so hard to find detailed, factual, up to date info concerning this issue. I've got another source going thru the same thing and if I get any updates from him I'll be sure to post here.

Does anyone have a firm detailed list of requirements for spouses of Thai nationals needed for re-entering Thailand. I've heard rumours, speculations, peoples opinions and various piece meal info but haven't seen any clear concise list from the Thai govt. I've checked on both, Thai embassy and Thai ministry of foreign affairs websites but can't find much info. The only firm info I can find is: obviously some sort of visa and certificate of entry.
I found this but can't find the details of it:
To enter the Kingdom, the persons under 3. shall comply with Disease Prevention Measures for the Persons Entering the Kingdom to Prevent the Spread of the COVID-19 Disease Annexed to the Order of the Centre for the Administration of the Situation due to the Outbreak of the Communicable Disease Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) No. 7/2563 Issued on 30 June B.E. 2563 (2020).
I also found this but once again, no details:
4. Upon entry into the Kingdom, people must also strictly comply with disease prevention measures prescribed by the Government
So far I've heard we have to provide: certificate of entry, covid 19 test 72 hours before flying, fit to fly certificate, flight itinerary and obviously will have to do 14 day quarantine once in Thailand. My non-O visa has expired since being outside Thailand, any possibility of getting in on 30 day exempt and applying while in Thailand? And are the travel bubbles in effect? Sorry for all the questions but too much misinformation out there.
Any detailed list, valid info, or links to sites would be much appreciated.
Thanks
And before certain TV members mention that I shouldn't have left Thailand during this time and it was my choice, I know that but I had to leave.

well... you've only yourself to blame.
Actually, many people have lots of different factors involved in why they left Thailand and can't get back in, not just "myself" to blame. Some people's lives are not as straight forward.......or as perfect, as yours.

I'm sick of hearing about permanent residence and work permits when a thread like this comes up. Thailand only has a quota of 100 PR's per country per year, hardly a viable option for the thousands of foreign spouses that live in Thailand. And as far as WP, pretty hard to get if you don't work IN Thailand.
I'm happy for the people that have these but doesn't seem a very attainable option IMO.
Bring on the comments about we're all just tourists, don't have any rights, blah, blah, blah, I know that already, it's been mentioned more than enough times in other threads.

I wonder about the thinking process--if there is one, of the 35 people in the survey who said, "No they should not be allowed to return." I'm hoping those people didn't understand the question.......

I did grow up, and made the CORRECT decision--which was planned by the company I work for, to continue to go to work in order to take care of my Thai family, when I left. It's simple really but some people just can't get the concept.

I'm not lying and don't consider myself an idiot; I had to go to work to support my Thai family, I didn't choose to leave, I HAD to leave. All these people with these types of comments don't realize the different circumstances people are in. It's not as simple as, "You're a tourist and chose to leave now you want to come back for a holiday."

STV: Chinese will be first foreign tourists allowed in, then Scandinavians

The Thai govt needs to be careful who they get into bed with, but saying that; the current administration will be long gone, and their bank accounts overflowing, by the time the fallout from the chinese invasion happens. They'd be smart to check into what's happening in Cambodia and several African countries, maybe also ask the Malaysian prime minister how he feels about it.
