"...police say she died from a heart attack..."
It is amazing how the police always assume benign circumstances to death
a deadly heart attack is not really benign, is it?
-
RIP. But it seemes to me farangs die too often in Thailand
each and everyone: just once...
-
Here I am trying to argue that Thais are not a racist people
you are a nice guy but you are totally wrong...

detaining 72 clearly guilty of having black skin for drug tests.
'coloured' people? who writes this stuff? they are not a journalist that's for sure. who edited this piece? no professional editor would allow this to print.
why not? we are not in Europe or the U.S. and in Thai language a black gentleman (or lady, for that) is still called a NEGRO, like it or not (for Indians, Arabs etc. they have another set of fine descriptions)

won't be seeing any of them in deep Isaan (no fake watches/jewelry/garments, no real land scape "around the corner", no Chinese food, but local markets abundant with garbage produce they churned out themselves in their little Chinese factories...)
-
Will the price of hookers go up or down?
Thai business philosophy: Prices to go up - because: No business (same as with orange juice, cement, spare parts, developer's land etc.etc.)
-
don't be too touchy, folks -- else you couldn't order any "golden pumkin curry" which translates "gaeng <deleted> tong"...
-
Eat while looking at Hia.Yes I can see that would be a tricky name for a restaurant.
not really tricky - as long as you display the original "thing"

Malaysians want to start the New Year off with a BANG?
of course! Their religion entitles them to fleece Thailand, her beautiful and willing maidens, all the dried pork and fried pork knuckles together with 3 pints of good and strong beer...

before, had to change every 2 years; now in the present pickup 5ys+ already. I think 2 measures greatly help: Open the bonnet after driving whereever possible and plug in a battery charger at least twice a week for a full night - should be a more sophisticated electronic thing which avoids overcharging; don't buy any of that lowly Thai or Chinese rubbish
-
any flipping time is too early if you think about this being an issue for you - anybody with this scheme of thought should rightfully classify himself/herself as an addict to alcohol already
-
I wanna apologize. It's a poorly worded title. However I do think that public bus service is definitely third world country like
but then again: who of us (?!) would ever travel on a crammed Thai bus (possibly even every day)? being 1st world offspring, I take a taxi, my own car, the MRT or any other acceptable kind of transport (e.g. the missus' back...) and couldn't care less about general or specific bussing issues

<Crime against foreigners is no more common than in most Western countries>
yes, and in Europe it is mostly immigrants who commit crimes against foreigners (the foreign victims being: Brits, French, Germans, Austrians, Scandinavians, Italians, etc. in their own countries without any help from their national prosecutors because these instutitions long ago already had to accept dual law systems and are f...ing helpless)

Practicing with my daughter of 2, she can say "sit down" in 3 languages already
apparently not a real Thai else she would say "shit dow"

<He said had stolen several items and sold them for money to visit Pattaya bars>
two important questions:
is he muslim? did he drink alcohol in the bars?

Yes I received the same. Most of it really is none of their business!
look at the last page of that HSBC questionaire: "We are here to help": yes, help governments, help tax offices, help anybody but not the client

Even the TAT shouldn't be able to deny that tourism is down
You STILL don't know these guys (and gurls....): They will readily report a fantastic increase for Dec.14 plus Jan.15 (2 months) combined figures over Jan.14 (one month) single figure...or some other cheap gimmick like this
-
the people who make their living selling food etc in these places suffer through a downturn in income due to low attendances
but not for too long then they turn into thieves, burglars, pick-pockets, extortionists, black- mailers and the like ... the Phuket beach mafias (widely "unemployed" by now...) are a fine example
-
Hope we still get Thai prices with our Thai driving licences, btw......
I think that this regulation is void, too, in the meantime. I remember them cranking their head out of the booth and yelling at me "DL no good, you work permit or nothing"

I would say that the US is fully aware that if and when any kind of real democracy returns...
in this country there is has never been a real democracy albeit on the paper

If Canada really is better, your wife ought to recognize the merit in moving there
there is only one country a pure-bred (!) Thai can happily and voluntarily live in - that is Thailand. Any other place is a foul compromise for him / her, inescapably will lead to nasty mental irritations, too.

<I see that the Euro has dropped to 36 baht. Does anybody know why or how long it's going to stay that low. When will it go up again or will it sink even
lower>
these are 4 questions and I could attend to all of them expertly if only I was given the Green Light for this by my peers; in our neat currency cubicle we know exactly where all this will inadvertently lead to - still we have to be dead- mum (ímportant part of my work contract)

Correct me if I am wrong but is there not or was there a Japanese only Soi next to PatPong? caters to thai ladies for Japanese only. If anyone else goes there they will not serve you.
you're right, this is the 1st or 2nd soi after entering Surawongse and having passed Jim Thompson's...then again: if anything is that obvious then they may keep to themselves, I could not care less. And mind you: Any Westerner would be laughed at by the girls holding a 1000Baht note in his trembling hand, wouldn't even buy him a tooth-pick in these high- powered places where the byrds wouldn't speak a word of English but domo arigato

The restaurants in town itself are very basic indeed.
good, recommendable places: you should check out "Rabiang" near the castle, "RimMoon" for fish dishes on the way out to Chumpuang, a little further on the same road "Phimai Inn" (before lunch, you may take a dip in their pool) and - on the way back to the main highway - "Baitoey"

"So, I finally agreed to meet him on January 12 at a scout camp"
it starts from untoward meeting places and shows the shady characters on both sides...waste of time to follow up with this rubbish
