How Thai people will see us foreigners
sirineou replied to newbee2022's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
You misunderstood. Or perhaps English is not your first language LaosLover was being sarcastic when he said " thank god I come from the US where we don't have this type of thing" meaning that racism is not an exclusively Thai thing. and I agreeing with him said "never mind the US " and proceeded to say that I had also encountered racism in other western countries, But I am glad we at least make you laugh , we do aim to entertain while we "robbe the natives of all their lands and rights" Now excuse me while I go was mu KKK robes. -
That is something all of us who love our wives and are older should be concerned with. You are a good man for thinking that , My wife is also 25 years younger than me , we are very close, and I after also wonder what would happen to her when I am gone, I am 66 so with luck I have a bit of time but who knows what's in the cards for each one of us? I am lucky enough to had the option to take a reduced pension from my trade union, and after my death the wife gets 70% of it for her life, (that should screw the bastards since the wife is almost 25 years younger than me LOL) and since she has lived in the states for a number of years and has US citizenship, she will also get part of my social security when she comes of age. , That and some properties we have here in Thailand , she should be fine, but I worry she will be lonely. She is not one to make friends easy. We also have talked about what to do with e after I pass, and as you said , we will be dead so who cares, But I am afraid Thais have to save face so they need to do something. So the idea of donating the body to science sound like a very good idea and something I will also look into it. This will force her not to do anything and would have a face shaving excuse. In fact it will not even be her choice so it will not even be be an excuse .

What % of farangs in Thailand are worth talking to?
sirineou replied to bignok's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
You said it "those who we love " we care enough to be bothered. Friends we can tell them to <deleted> off and we can leave, Can't do that with those you love and have to live with 24/7 Now that I am older and a bit wiser, I have a system. When wife says or does something that really grinds my gears, I tell myself, "if this so bad that we could start a fight, it will still be bad enough in an hour" so I wait an hour, and guess what? Even if it is still bad enough in an hour, it is hard to fight while having sex, and afterwards you take a nap anyway. ???? -
Terrified tourists ride speedboats battling meter-high waves
sirineou replied to simon43's topic in General Topics
I like the part where the boat went up from a wave and then went slow motion, I would hate to cough in a temporal displacement storm, The are the worst. ???? I am sure it must had been frightening for some, but the boats were good size, deep V, as long as they had power and able to stay in the weather, they were fine. Well fine as far as danger was concerned. I am sure more than one of the passenger lost his/hers lunch. -

How Thai people will see us foreigners
sirineou replied to newbee2022's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Agreed. Racism is a human condition and not limited to any particular Ethnicity. Many times it is not really as much racism , as it is ethnocentrism. Heck there are people who are racists toward people of the same country or race. -

Never mind the US, where I am also from, and know what you are talking about. When my daughter was younger(7 or ???? and was playing soccer in the US, while we were in Europe, I decided to take her to Football (socker) there, to see how it was, and how big the sport is there. . Thank god she did not understand the language of that country. The opposing team had a couple of black players, and you should hear the language of the fans. In the US or even Thailand they would had been arrested and or thrown out of the game. -
I thought that Portugal has a tax agreement with the US , UK and many other countries , where you either pay income tax in your country, or Portugal but not both. I only have a cursory knowledge of the issue, so please forgive me if I got it wrong.

‘Main customers’: Russians fleeing Putin’s war find a home in Phuket
sirineou replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
The article says "He travelled to the airport in Moscow, with a couple of thousand dollars in savings, and a one-way ticket to Thailand, " and " Aleksei* often sits alone on his balcony, and wonders if the past 18 months have been a strange dream." So I assume that $2000 was his. but I can't be certain of that. -

Not a lot of money. With what kind of visa did he enter Thailand with a one way ticket and a couple of thousand dollars? A couple of thousand of dollars probably gets "18 months " of rent , food and utilities where you can enjoy life on your balcony . Probably 110% more than 2021 -
Judge Chuktan warns Trump against 'inflammatory' remarks before trial
sirineou replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Certainly not politically motivated. trump is out on bail, and as such he is governed by those bail limitations, no different than any other defendant on bail regardless of their political orientation. What trump is doing is trying to poison the well, and then claim that the well is poisoned and we need a new well. Judge Chuktanis is no Aileen Cannon (assigned 1,810 cases and issued opinions in 616 ) , She will have none of that. Cannon .( assigned 224 criminal cases — only four of which went to trial, ) on one of these four she forgot to swear in the jury pool, In another he closed the jury selection to the public violating the defendants 6th amendment rights. Another of trump's "Best person " appointment. He probably used the "best words" when he made the appointment, because he is a "stable genius" -
Absolutely right.^^^^^^ Not waiting until you get your final stamp is asking for trouble, If the application comes back for even a technicality, and you have yo re-apply to clear that error , you could be screwed. Promotions for carrs happen all the time, It is a device to create urgency. Buy now ot the car turns into a pumpkin tomorrow. ILOL f your heart is set for that promotion why don't you go to the dealer and ask that if for a small deposit they can fold that promotion for you for a month?

Trump has already disqualified himself from White House return
sirineou replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I think the presidency qualifies as "Officer of the United States" "No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability. " -
Pheu Thai cruising toward power, but at what price?
sirineou replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I no longer even read things about Thai politics. The whole thing is a joke. -
It's one thing to be "Crazy" it's another thing to accuse you of a crime , and pedophilian non the less. I would call the police on her and if you can afford it get a lawyer and have him send her a A cease and desist letter and inform her that if she does not, you would take legal action. You can even get a restraining order on her. Your reputation is the most valuable thing you have!! Who knows who else she tells her nonsense , about you.

Scottish man becomes latest victim of Thailand’s perilous roads
sirineou replied to snoop1130's topic in Krabi News
It is, because it is about half. If we could cut that half by half, it would be a 25% seduction in accidents. Not a trivial percentage IMO . I don't think it would ever happen because it is human nature , but it is a good thing to keep in mind, and if it could save some lives, i think it is worth it. We get in the car and I tell the wife to put her seatbelt on, she says "But we are only going down the corner" the seatbelt alarm will stop soon. Put it on anyway I tell her. After a while it becomes an automatic thing and you don't even know you are doing it. -

Many of us have and we shouldn't. Most accident happen in such circumstances simply because the majority of driving for most people is done close to home, and our comfort level is higher causing us to take more chances, I know it sounds counterintuitive, but it's true. "Approximately 52 percent of all car accidents occur within a 5 mile radius of home, "
