You haven't mentioned WW2 or the Japanese at all. All you want to do is blame Churchill. If the Japanese had not invaded Burma, so threatening British India and forcing at least 1/2 million Indians to flee back home, then the strain on food supply would have been far less.

Exactly. While engaged with Germany, Italy and Japan, the British Empire actually peaked in terms of military power and capability. The final all-in cost of WW2 resulted in its eventual decline, however.

Hitler would have invaded Britain if he thought that he could achieve it with acceptable cost. That's why so much bombing was done in 1940 as troops and barges were readied in France. If Britain had been lost, then so would the empire. There's no need to complicate things too much. Churchill's immediate priority was the defence of Britain and he was right.

Well you first mentioned these elusive uplands just a few posts ago. Being assertive and headstrong does not necessarily result in good leadership. Divisions in the UK have steadily grown, especially over the last 30 years. Some of these divisions are partly due to the EU, its "pillars" and politics but many grew after a string of dishonest governments. Blaming Brexit for causing these divisions is just riduculous. Brexit was a result of existing divisions. Not being open and honest a good thing? No. That just creates divisions.

Agree. That was not a debate. Harris failed to describe or argue for any of her intended "policies" in any detail at all. Still nobody really knows what she might do if she wins but with so much missing, undecided voters will be a lot more wary of her than Trump. If she wanted to woo voters she missed her best opportunity, nationally. After concentrating on baiting Trump instead, many will see that she really has nothing good to offer.
