  1. I really hope you are right but there are far more arguments for a dollar decline these days. I think the main argument is not made by any one individual but rather by the sheer enormity of US debt of all kinds. The BRICS allianace seems disposed to break the dominance of the US Dollar as well.
  2. The real "days" were late Jan / early Feb 1998, when the pound briefly went to 90 after the 1997 tom yam kung party. In the early 80's, 35 was common and the pound briefly went to 28 during that period (1984). So 43 is only a fair average over the last 10 years. People coming here should be prepared for less.
  3. I get it. Never the assassin's fault as long aas Trump is the target.
  4. He used to be good. So was the BBC. Now he's just follows the new bias.
  5. Plank comment of the day.
  6. Not the same as having her shot!
  7. But he didn't try and have her shot.
  8. I'm sure you are wrong there.
  9. No link. Plenty of doubt.
  10. Sounds like a typical flip-flop leftie, like Kamala.
  11. The Haitians got the geese already.
  12. We can certainly see who are the hostile and nasty ones now, eh?
  13. You haven't mentioned WW2 or the Japanese at all. All you want to do is blame Churchill. If the Japanese had not invaded Burma, so threatening British India and forcing at least 1/2 million Indians to flee back home, then the strain on food supply would have been far less.
  14. This is as bad as a never-ending fart.
  15. Exactly. While engaged with Germany, Italy and Japan, the British Empire actually peaked in terms of military power and capability. The final all-in cost of WW2 resulted in its eventual decline, however.
  16. Hitler would have invaded Britain if he thought that he could achieve it with acceptable cost. That's why so much bombing was done in 1940 as troops and barges were readied in France. If Britain had been lost, then so would the empire. There's no need to complicate things too much. Churchill's immediate priority was the defence of Britain and he was right.
  17. Better keep that gin bottle out of sight.
  18. That is a very clottish comment.
