  1. While LCCT is just across the tarmac, the bus between terminals has to go around the outside of the airport, so it probably is about 20klm. It will probably take about half an hour minimum.

All depends on whether you have to pick up your bags and go through immigration. I suggest you check with air asia.

  2. ulysees' actions were complete and utter skin saving cowardice. to see a young girl being beaten by a gang and then not intervening is low, very very low.

    I agree, disgusting :o

Well maybe understandable from someone here on a two week holiday who doesn't want to get involved in native customs, but not from someone who claims to be a long term resident. :D

  3. Endure, if you have an AIS account you will have to take your phone to one of their Telwiz shops to have the "8" added to your phone.

This is so you can recieve calls, once the 9 digit numbers are eventually phased out.

It is free, quick and painless.

    What ??

The sim card number is not the same as the phone number. The phone number is linked to the sim card from the exchange so why would you have to change anything on the phone ?

  4. You must have gone on a good day and to the good window.

The visa office is a small room with very poor air conditioning, go on a monday if you want to have a sauna.

There are two girls working in the visa section, do not go to the good looking one if you can help it. She seems to have a problem with people applying for tourist visas. The other girl is helpful.

I'm interested to see what happens in january when they are suddenly confronted with hundreds of visa applicants.

  5. For the folk ready to flame the OP, she is an attractive female, who lives and work in BKK she has the dubious honour of meeting a number of TV members, she seems to attract the less desirable types in LOS.

    What can you mean ?

Well if GF is real and a teacher in Bangkok I suggest she learns a few Thai letters. Failing that the rock is probably a good idea, it works well with soi dogs.

  6. I asked the question of "which him" to the poster. How can you assume to know which "Him" and on what basis are you attacking Morris. It was Morris and many other bar owner/property renters who were ripped off by Yoshie. Please substantiate your comment or withdraw it.

I just wonder who this might be referring to

Well I was the poster, and I was refering to the latter also. I have known JBG for half a life time, and he is of the same opinion, that the man had a lousy disposition apart from many other failings, which are not for forum discussion, but then again we are all entitled to our own opinions.........

I'd have to disagree, I knew Morris for a long time and he never did me a bad turn. I particularly enjoyed his attempt to run a wet T shirt competition at the Up to U. I don't know who Maejo Man and JBG actually are so I can't comment on the basis of your opinions.

  7. New York, New york circa 1954

Palm trees in New York ?

    Cairo!

    Ha Ha!

    The winner.... :o:D:D

Smart guy, but of course you are Scottish.

Very clever to find a picture with no mosques or pyramids

I deliberatly chose a picture that had no obvious landmarks. Yes I could have picked one with a pyramid but that would have been too easy. I've been there a few times and recognise some of the buildings, though it does look like quite an old picture.

  8. Think you're on the wrong forum. We don't discuss politics. There are plenty of sites on the net where you can post your looney right wing cut and pastes.

Easy now... I don't see what is so "looney" about quoting a respectable source to make a point on this topic (albeit one that does not quite follow the direction of the thread :D )

You don't see what's wrong with pasting an article from a newspaper which has nothing to do with the topic being discussed on this thread ?

My apologies, I stand corrected. :o

  9. "The welfare state cost 79 billion pounds last year, more than is spent on the entire education system, twice as much as on law and order and almost as much as on the NHS. It totals nearly 3,000 pounds a household a year. There are 51 different benefits, with 39 per cent of households claiming one or more. Although the Chancellor often boasts about his record on unemployment, there are 5.4 million people of working age who are out of work and living on benefits. Many of those are registered disabled; Britain has more long-term sick than any European country besides Poland. The benefits system has become so generous that being "on welfare" is no longer a mark of even relative poverty. Households with incomes of up to 66,350 pounds - which puts them in the richest fifth - can be entitled to welfare".
