    Had a look, IMO it's a load of <deleted> total non-story.

I’ve added a screenshot of his Facebook post to my post above.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this goes similarly to other immigration rules in the  past, where every immigration office/officer will interpret/enforce it differently as he understands or likes. Some will not have any issues, others will.

    Anyway, it’s all speculation.

Got a link? If that was so, the various forums would be in meltdown.

AFAIR Richard Barrow himself mentioned it in his Facebook post where he reported about the new law. It’s either in the main post itself or in the comments section. Pretty sure I saw it there.

//edit: here’s the screenshot from his Facebook post:

Not sure how self-quarantining would help. How do you prove to an immigration officer that you have that you have been self-quarantining for weeks? An affidavit ? Like they would believe you??

Self-quarantine not to replace the test, but to make sure that you don’t catch the virus exactly during the time when you need to go for your extension.

  4. 4 minutes ago, my friend you said:

The PCR Test is not admitted for diagnostic purposes.

Utter nonsense that has no scientific foundation and is only being touted by conspiracy theorists.

4 minutes ago, my friend you said:

So this PCR Test has a high rate of false positives.

Same as above, utter nonsense. The specificity and sensitivity numbers say the exact opposite.

4 minutes ago, my friend you said:

It is illegal now in Portugal and Bosnia to use it for diagnosis.

    No, it’s not.

(Just for fun: How would you test if any of the above was only remotely true? Use your local mor-doo?)

  5. For newly incoming people as part of their visa application, generally this would make sense. But since there’s a quite invasive quarantine process (with several Covid tests) in place already, it also seems a bit redundant.

For those already in the country, I guess one may argue that carrying out more tests is always good. But, of course, only subjecting foreigners to mandatory regular testing seems illogical at best or even discriminating for some, as the virus doesn’t care about nationality.

My biggest concern is how they plan to use the test result for the actual process. If they deny the extension based on this, it would be a bummer.  Then you better self-quarantine some weeks before your appointment as a precaution.

I just renewed mine based on marriage it didn’t even come up lol, wasn’t even mentioned. Honestly I stopped reading these articles a while ago.

I understand the new law will come into effect by the end of this month.

But apparently some foreigners already got asked for a Covid test when they went to get their visa extension.

You can bet your ass that she and everyone else who participated in this insurrection (including those who did before and in the background) as well as anyone planning new attacks have already been pardoned. Whether that’s politicians, senators, lawyers, or just a shaman dressed nutter.

He just couldn’t tweet about it.

The only one who potentially could be prosecuted will be Trump himself (and maybe some small fish who he didn’t know their names).

You think there is an off-chance that democracy will vote in Trump again and you want the people in power now to prevent democracy taking place if that is the outcome?

That’s what the US did with Hitler. In both cases it’s justified, and for similar reasons. I suggest you don’t pretend to be more stupid than we think a Trump fanboy is.

I read travel news everyday. I saw that weeks ago. Tyrannical nonsense , some airlines CEO giving his opinion on the matter. Its not up to airlines, only governments. Who will follow what the IATA, WTTC, and WHO put out. Which is always testing remains the only way.

If the airline doesn’t want to fly people that didn’t get vaccinated, what you gonna do? The governments won’t be able to do anything; in fact, it’s more likely that they will set incentives like this for people to get vaccinated. I.e., we won’t force you to get a vaccination, but you won’t be able to do a, b, and c (while, of course, it’s absurd that they actually have to set additional incentives on top of the protection the vaccination itself provides, just because people like you choose to believe the conspiracy nonsense they read on dubious blogs).

Yes - they are scared he'll come back an win an election

After he divided the country and groomed a mob of domestic terrorists to try a violent coup, it seems understandable that people don’t want him to come back. (And that’s not even considering all the embarrassments this clown has caused his country.)
