Oh dear, the remainers and Europhiles are going to be livid about this...

“remainers and Europhiles” are the people who kept telling you that no-deal would be a disaster, right?

The United Nations is not a country but it’s officers enjoy Functional Diplomatic Immunity.

It doesn’t even matter. If the U.K. wants to keep diplomatic status for its diplomats, then they’ll have to give it to EU diplomats, it’s as simple as that (which is why Boris will soon backpaddle and have made a fool of himself again).

The sad thing is, that, due to Covid and security precautions, Biden's inauguration crowd will probably be rather small.  What's the bet that Trump will be making comparisons to his own, and his supporters will be on here trying to tell us that the small crowd shows that Biden has little support?

Apparently he flipped out when he heard the lineup of A-list celebs attending Biden’s inauguration — all people that turned him down for his own one. His whole life has been about desperately trying to become a part of the high society, and they never let him in. Not even as a POTUS they would show up.

I think they should be more more clear about what diseases are being tested.. and .. I would also limit the places/people that are authorized to issue such certificates-

Actually that’s both the case. The diseases are specified in the law, and only doctors and hospitals can issue such certificates.
It’s the diseases that don’t seem to make sense. When you have 3rd stage syphilis, you don’t need a test for that—you’ll be screaming it all over. I think the same is the case for elephantiasis. Alcohol addiction may not be easy to diagnose. Forgot the other two.

and in conjunction with that, I’d also cap the fee that can be charged for it.

The current medical certificates aren’t that expensive. It’s a blood test and a doctor looking at you. Most companies reimburse you for it (or pay directly to the hospital).

In addition, I’d think it’s reasonable to have more than 1 medical test; for example if your job is one that puts you into contact with a large number of people or so-called higher risk areas, then I could see testing for more diseases that may be more easily transmissible... by contrast if your job is one that puts you into lower contact, then a test that is perhaps not as exhaustive may be more appropriate.

Agree. Or when your job has to do with machinery, food, etc.

Richard Barrow, however well intentioned", is not a official of the Thai government, nor are any posters on TVF, as far as I know.

    Has anyone claimed he is?

"I told you so" only serves to inflate the ego, and is not printable in order to attach it to immigration paperwork.

Has anyone said “I told you so”?

No medical certificate has been required for my marriage and retirement extensions in Korat/Buriram/Surin in the last 11 years. AFAIK a medical certificate saying you don't have any of those disease on "the list" is only required when applying for certain long-stay Thai visas in your country of origin.

I’m on a B visa with work permit. AFAIR I needed it for my last extension (as well as for the initial application process). Maybe that’s the difference.

Difference being that all this is doing is adding Covid-19 to an existing list.

If that’s the case, then it could in fact become an issue for everyone, because...

If, as Richard Barrow's is trying to make out, this means you need a negative covid-19 test for an extension why haven't people needed to take test for the existing list to get an extension? It's fear mongering, nothing more IMO.

AFAIR you need to go through the medical certificate thing for every extension, and the doctors and hospitals are not handing out carte blanche certificates anymore as they used to many years ago. I believe I had to do it for my last extension.
