Define "better". -
From CNN today The tourism departments and embassies of France, Thailand, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Austria and Switzerland all posted messages on Weibo, China's version of Twitter, inviting Chinese tourists. "Chinese friends, France welcomes you with open arms!" the French embassy wrote on Weibo. The Thai national tourism administration wrote: "Thailand has been waiting for you for three years!"

Police Instructed to Quickly Locate Fugitive Heir Vorayuth Yoovidhya

Offer a big reward and he will be found in a matter of days or weeks...of course even if they bring him back and he is tried odds are that lots of envelopes will circulate through the judicial system and he will be found not guilty. Very few really rich people anywhere go to jail unless they screw other richer people. -
no negative test...no entry With recent covid cases exploding in China does thailand really want to roll the dice allowing untold numbers of chinese to show up untested just as Thailand is starting to recover from covid? Tests are not perfect but better than nothing. Don't wait til the horse is out of the barn to close the door.

Used to be a big problem in waikiki in Hawaii with cars hitting people in crosswalks...HI passed some tough new laws and all rental car renters are told and given rules...i believe the min fine now to even enter a crosswalk if a ped is anywhere within the crosswalk is $500 and subsequent violations up to 1000 usd....took a while but umber of people getting hit went way way down original law: §291C-72 Pedestrians' right-of-way in crosswalks. (a) The driver of a vehicle shall stop for a pedestrian who is crossing the roadway within a crosswalk when the pedestrian is either: (1) Upon the half of the roadway upon which the vehicle is traveling; or (2) Approaching the vehicle so closely from the opposite half of the roadway as to be in danger, and shall not proceed until the pedestrian has passed the vehicle and the driver can safely proceed. For purposes of this section, "a pedestrian who is crossing the roadway within a crosswalk" occurs when any part or extension of the pedestrian, including any part of the pedestrian's body, wheelchair, cane, crutch, or bicycle, is beyond the curb or edges of the traversable roadway and moves onto the roadway within an intersection or crosswalk. (b) No pedestrian shall suddenly leave a curb or other place of safety and walk or run into the path of a vehicle which is so close that it is impossible for the driver to yield. (c) Subsection (a) shall not apply under the conditions stated in section 291C-73(b). (d) Whenever any vehicle is stopped at a marked crosswalk or at any unmarked crosswalk at an intersection to permit a pedestrian to cross the roadway, the driver of any other vehicle approaching from the rear shall not overtake and pass the stopped vehicle. (e) Every person who violates this section shall be subject to the following penalties: (1) For a first infraction, or any infraction not preceded within one year by a prior violation of this section, a fine of $150; (2) For an infraction that occurs within one year of a prior violation of this section, a fine of $300 and revocation of the person's driver's license and privilege to operate a vehicle for a period of ninety days; and (3) For an infraction that occurs within two years of two prior violations of this section, and for the fourth and each additional infraction of this section, regardless of when committed, a fine of $1,000, and revocation of the person's driver's license and privilege to operate a vehicle for a period of one hundred eighty days. [L 1971, c 150, pt of §1; am L 2005, c 73, §3; am L 2007, c 125, §1; am L 2019, c 132, §3]

i believe that vaccines saved many lives and reduced the severity of outcomes for millions of people....if you chose to refuse it that is your problem but wouldn't it be better to be part of the solution instead of part of the problem. I had two good friends who "did their research" a lot of which was listening to fox "news" and BS conspiracy theory it's a chinese hoax idiots who were convinced they knew more than the scientists...both refused covid vaccines...both were healthy active guys...both died horrible deaths with tubes stuck down their throats...both their wives got shots and did not get covid. So yes i do believe that vaccine mandates were necessary to get the bullheaded conspiracy theory bunch to protect themselves and their families if that is what it takes.

No I don't believe everything the govt or most anybody tells me. I do believe I can do research and trust those who have tons of valid data that backs up various claims and sort the BS from the truth. a loyal citizen that doesn't believe in a bunch of idiotic conspiracy theories and spread as if it were all true....a loyal citizen that has a darn good nose that can smell BS when i encounter it.... I do not believe the big lie of rigged election, i do not believe the moon landing was a big hoax, i do not believe that the dems are controlled by some cabal perverts, i do not believe that bill gates wants me to get vaxed to track me....i do not believe that covid vaxs were some big conspiracy theory that did nothing to lessen deaths....i could go on and no but i do believe i would be wasting my time with people who will and do believe all sorts of nonsense and defend their "beliefs" to the death. Oh and i do not believe the earth is flat much to the dismay of many. I ain't buying a sack of BS no matter how many times it gets posted and reposted.
-
I for one wish all the conspiracy theory folks would crawl down their rabbit hole with their fellow deep web BS and just wallow around in all the nonsense. They have nothing other than a bunch of lame theories from obscure websites and pretend experts but do for sure love to try and argue and dig those holes even deeper. Waste of time.

Jomtien condo bookings for 1 week - weird messages from owners
pomchop replied to henrik2000's topic in Pattaya
And rightly so....it is generally illegal to rent for less than 30 days except hotels. Of course airbnb and other platforms don't give a <deleted> and list the units anyway. So suddenly your home condo is turned into a hotel with all kinds of people hanging around the lobby with suitcases, clogging elevators, swimming pools, coming home loud and drunk most every night, pestering the hotel security staff with various demands etc....if u get real lucky you may find that a unit just down the hall now has 10 people staying there in a unit that normally is two people. All some ahole can make some extra $$ by breaking the law and enabled by clients and booking platforms who could not care less.- 57 replies

Bangkok world’s #1 trending destination in 2022 – Airbnb
pomchop replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
Seems to me the simple stop is the posting of big signs in lobby and elevator advising potential guests that rentals of less than 30 days are illegal and violators...both owner and renters are subject to fines and rental terminated immediately.....i suspect that a person arriving at their rental seeing that would quickly be demanding a refund and word would spread....of course they could also try and hold airbnb and online agents liable via lawsuits for knowingly listing illegal rentals. Airbnb has been getting away with acting like oh we didn't know the law, didn't know it was illegal all over the world. Meantime they have made millions by enabling illegal rentals. It should be required that owner or property manager must certify that the building where he is renting units short time is a legal rental. In the vast majority of rentals online you can figure out in a few minutes if it is a hotel or legal rental. With very few exceptions if the rental offered is less than 30 days and the building is clearly a condo...and has no hotel license which very few have...it is illegal. -

And the law is being blatantly disregarded by airbnb as well as the various online agencies that promote rentals of less than 30 days every day. It is totally out of hand in many condos that have no hotel license but don't care and obviously airbnb doesn't care that the rentals are illegal. It is beyond time for the laws to be enforced. If you buy or long term lease a condo you should not have to put up with dozens of airbnb types checking in/out all hours, cramming units full of people, clogging elevators pools etc. The building where I live has almost become intolerable over the past few months and nobody on condo board or juristic or cops seem to care in the least. It drives up long term rental rates as more owners are saying hell i can get $50 ++ a night why should i rent for $400 a month... Disgusting blatant breaking of laws with no repercussions. There are a few buildings that post big signs in lobby and elevators outlining that rentals of less than 30 days in that building are illegal and to please report any units that you observe renting short term. Seems to solve problem very quickly. Can't believe that the hotel biz doesn't raise holy hell having to compete with all the illegal rentals that have no hotel license, pay no taxes, and are in direct violation of the law....very easy to catch them...just go online and you can find hundreds of illegal rentals with a few mouse clicks. Must be some big brown envelopes from condo boards, rental agents etc. -

Serial killer The Serpent, Charles Sobhraj, to be freed from Nepal jail

Charles Sobhraj and Marie LeClerk's move into Kanit House 504 in 1975 and make that their base to screen and entrap their victims..it was near patpong -
what a load of rubbish.....covid vaccines saved millions of lives and reduced severity of disease for the vast majority of people who got infected.... one study where some had an adverse reaction to the shot but they themselves admit that the benefits outweigh the risks for most people is the "proof". So here we go again with the anti vax crowd spreading all kinds of nonsense implying that the world would be better off without the vaccines? Hogwash more rabbit hole conspiracy theories brought up by the same crowd that see a conspiracy around every corner and quote from one study while ignoring tons of studies peer reviewed and backed up by stat after stat from real hospitals and real docs and nurses who witnessed first hand the horrors of the unvaxxed clogging hospitals whose last words were i should have gotten the vaccine. If any apologies are owed it is the anti vaxxers who pushed all the garbage that convinced so many not to get vaxxed and ended up dead. Gee i thought it was all a chinese hoax anyway so why did we need any vaccines?
