The consulates in the UK were honorary consulates but they have now been closed for over 2 years due to covid 19 and they probably will not open again. In the US there are 3 official Thai consulates (New York, Chicago and Los Angeles) and of course the embassy in DC.. There were also several honorary Thai consulates that are now closed.

ubonjoe replied to thairat's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
If you only wanting to do a border crossing to get a visa exempt entry you do not have to travel all the way to Nong Khai to do it. You can do it at the bridge in Chiang Khong in Chiang Rai now. You will need get a Lao Visa on arrival to enter Laos. -
Entry/Exit strategy Thailand in 2022
ubonjoe replied to jethro69's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You could enter visa exempt and get a 30 day stay that can be extended for 30 days at immigration. The airline you travel to here on can ask for a ticket out of the country within 30 days. It can be a one way ticket to anywhere or a temporary onward ticket you can get online. -
stv visa , 60 day hotel booking ?
ubonjoe replied to brendan3150's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
1. A STV (special tourist visa) is not the same as a standard tourist visa that allows a 60 day stay. With a STV you get a 90 entry that can be extended twice for 90 days. 2. A single entry tourist visa does not require proof of accommodations. I could not open the LA consulate website. See this page on the embassy website. https://thaiembdc.org/2020/11/05/trsingle_entry/ 3. You will do the application on the e visa website. https://thaievisa.go.th/ If the application is not accepted you would be able do it again. -

Covid 19 Extensions Extended Until July 25th
ubonjoe replied to ubonjoe's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
There is no grace period. You will be fined 500 baht for every day of overstay. The only risk is getting caught with a overstay before you leave the country. -
Leaving Thailand on new Non B.
ubonjoe replied to natalieee's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You can leave the country within the 90 days a non-b visa allows but you will need a re-entry permit to keep the remainder of the 90 days valid when you enter the country. -

What embassy or official consulate website are you looking at. I found this on a embassy website. "2.4 Proof of a round trip flight confirmation/reservation showing going from the US to Thailand and leaving from Thailand (The name of the applicant must be indicated clearly)" Source: https://thaiembdc.org/2021/05/13/metv/ You only need on ticket to Thailand and ticket of Thailand that could be a throw away one way ticket to anywhere. -
Information update required or not?
ubonjoe replied to fgmr's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Not sure why they posted that out of date info on their website. I guess that did not have their own so posted the one from immigration. -
Part time with tourist visa?
ubonjoe replied to problemfarang's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
For a extension based upon working for a company the amount depends upon your nationality. For those from most western countries it is a minimum salary of 50k baht. For teaching there is no minimum salary, -
Part time with tourist visa?
ubonjoe replied to problemfarang's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Any work you do requires a work permit as well as a non-b visa and extension of stay based upon working for a company or teaching. -
Visa for spouse of a Thai national
ubonjoe replied to James207's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The intent for being able to apply for the non-o is apply for a extension of stay and you have to meet the financial requirements for the extension. The 400k or 800k only has to be in the bank on the bank instead of 2 months. You could do it but you may be questioned as to why you did not do the extension when you applied for a previous one. I suspect they might make it difficult to apply for another one. -
Thailand Pass - Insurance
ubonjoe replied to Finlaco's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
That is an error on the website you are looking at. They did not lower the requirement when it was changed to $20,000 and now to $10,000. You could submit 60 days of the $10,000 covid 19 insurance and it should be approved. Some state the amount needed for covid on the application info page but it is not a requirement to get the visa. Which embassy or official consulate will you be applying at? -

If you entered the country with a non-o visa you are not eligible for a 60 day covid 19 extension.
