  1. Topic is now in the World News forum. Please continue the discussion there. This topic
  2. They are not the same. A STV requires medical insurance that also covers covid for at least 90 days when applying for it a a embassy or official consulate. A SETV only requires the $10,000 covid 19 insurance for the Thailand Pass application. Thirty days should be enough.
  3. Yes you can. Fot Chiang Mai mailed in reports info is here. https://aseannow.com/topic/557382-90-day-report-procedures/ It is fairly doing the reports in CM since they have a drive through window now.
  4. It appears you would have the 800k baht in the bank for 2 months so that part would not be a problem. The problem would be the having the 400k baht in the bank that is required. I suggest you not close your existing bank account. Open the new account and then transfer the 800k baht to the new one.
  5. Link for the webpage to do it. https://outlook.office365.com/owa/calendar/[email protected]/bookings/
  6. 1. Yes 2. You could try but some offices may check their file for the previous one to compare the photos. 3. Most offices will accept a letter from the bank done the day before. But they will want a copy of your bank book updated on the day you apply. 4. Yes You will only need copies of page 1 of the bank book and the page she is shown on. The may also want the page her father's name is on.
  7. Check with LMG. They offer policies with a large deductible that reduces the cost. https://www.lmginsurance.co.th/en/Products/Pages/Universal-Longstayvisa.aspx To avoid the insurance requirement you could enter visa exempt on a tourist visa or visa extemp and apply for the non-o visa at immigration.
  8. You can show proof of social security coverage instead of the $10,000 insurance when entering with a re-entry permit.
  9. There is not requirement for the arrival card number. There is no spaces for the those on the receipt for the report done online. On the TM47 they send after submitting the report those are left blank on it.
  10. If you have a year of of medical insurance that meets the requirements you will not have a problem entering the country.
  11. If your visa is still valid for entry you do not need a re-entry permit. If you do not want to deal with the medical insurance requirements you could leave without a re-entry permit needed to keep you current stay valid and then re-enter the country after your visa expires and get a 30 day visa exempt entry. You could then apply for a non-o visa at immigration and then a one year extension based upon retirement. The $10,000 covid 19 insurance is only needed for entry to the country. You would only need 30 days of coverage if you entered visa exempt.
  12. 1. I assume you mean a 30 day visa exempt entry. You can apply for a 30 day extension of it. 2. The airline can ask for a ticket out of the country within 30 days of arrival. It can be a one way to ticket anywhere or a temporary onward tick you can get online for about $12. Immigration does ask not for ticket out of the country unless they a looking for a reason to deny you entry to the country.
  13. That is a Bangkok rule that made its way on the immigration website. The majority of office will process a mailed in report if it is received 7 days before the report date that is the actual rule. Some offices will even accept them up to the report date. This is the rules for 90 day reporting that I go by.90day_notification.pdf A line of it states this.
  14. I would add that not all international airports have a re-entry permit desk or one that is always open. Both airports in Bangkok are reliable.
  15. It is the airline that can ask for a return or onward ticket to enter the country visa exempt. Immigration when entering the country seldom ask for it unless they are looking for a reason to deny you entry. It is written in the regulation for visa exempt entries that a ticket out of the country within 30 days of arrival. You can find a temporary onward ticket online for about $12. Do a search foronward ticket.
  16. If leaving from a airport from either airport in Bangkok you will not be fined for a one day overstay. A one day overstay is common due to flight changes and etc.
  17. I would not suggest doing that. A bit risky not having your passport to show if a authority was to ask for it. Checking in to a hotel could also be a problem.
  18. The under consideration stamp allows you to stay in Thailand until your extension application is approved. No problem at all to travel within Thailand. Of course you would have to return to the same office to get the 60 day stamp on the report back date.
  19. No quarantine if you are fully vaccinated for entry to Laos. You will need a Thailand Pass to enter Thailand at this time and $10k US of coved 19 insurance coverage valid for 30 days. Would you be applying for a single entry non-o visa at the consulate or just doing a short stay in Laos to enter visa exempt and applying for the non-o visa at immigration.
  20. Most of the companies listed here will offer a large deductible that will meet the requirements for a STV at a lower cost. https://longstay.tgia.org/companiesstv
  21. How long do you plan on staying in Thailand? Other than applying for a tourist visa you have the option to enter the country visa exempt that will allow a stay of 30 days that can be extended for 30 days at a immigration office. You would need a ticket out within 30 days if it the airline ask for one to check in for your flight to here. It can be a one way ticket to anywhere or a temporary onward ticket that can obtained from many sites online.
  22. Your first 90 day report must be done in person since immigration would not have a record of you doing a report when a online report is done. The first report can be done by mail since they will have copies of your passport and etc.
  23. Immigration has not announced anything about the new requirements on September 1st. I have only found info on the TGIA site and it states local insurance. https://longstay.tgia.org/guidelineoa
