Visa exempt extension question
ubonjoe replied to Leon1980's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The 30 day extension is done on the day you apply for it. No underconsideration period for it. I assume you meant June 12th since it is now May 26th. You can do your extension before the 12th. You lose no days by doing it early. You could do it on the 13th and not be fined for a overstay. After that you would be fined 500 baht for everyday you are late. -
Your is first post I have seen of somebody getting a multiple entry non-o visa from the embassy in London. Was it issued based upon retirement or marriage to a Thai. If you will still be working and traveling there is no need to get a extension of stay based upon retirement until your visa expires on May 3rd of next year. You can use it and get a 90 day stay until that day next year. Your visa is still valid. No need for a re-entry permit. You will show your e visa when you enter the country after your trip.

If you have a multiple entry non-o visa a re-entry would not be needed. Not sure you have a multiple entry visa since as far as I know the embassy in London does not issue them. A re-entry permit would only keep the remainder of the 90 day entry valid when you enter the country. A TM30 report is not required to apply for a re-entry permit at a airport.

90 single entry visa from Thai embassy
ubonjoe replied to drronnie's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You can apply for a 60 day extension to visit your wife. You could also apply for a one year extension of stay based upon marriage to a Thai. You would need 400k baht in a Thai bank for 2 months or proof of 40k baht income. Do you have a single or multiple entry non-o visa? You can apply for a new non-o visa at a nearby embassy or official consulate. I can only confirm that the embassy in Phnom Penh (single entry) and Savannakhet for a multiple entry visa. -
It is very unusual for them to do the 90 day report to to the report back date on a under consideration stamp. You could try to do the online report a week or so before your shorted 90 days ends. If denied then you would have to do it in person when you return to immigration to get your extension stamp.

A e visa will be valid for the amount of time the visa type you get is valid for. A single entry non immigrant visa is valid for 3 months and a multiple entry is valid for one year from the day it issued. A tourist visa is valid 3 months. A tourist visa requires a return or onward ticket out of the country to apply for it. If you have a valid visa a return or onward ticket is not required when entering the country.

Can Non O visa be issued in Thailand
ubonjoe replied to Tmoney's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
That is totally false info. Perhaps change this page on the immigration website to Thai that lists all the visas that can be issued and show it to them. https://www.immigration.go.th/en/?page_id=2537 -
You cannot get a new marriage certificate but you can get a certified copy of it done at a Amphoe.

90 single entry visa from Thai embassy
ubonjoe replied to drronnie's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
There is no 90 day extension of a 90 day entry from a non-o visa you can get with a valid reason such as for medical treatment for example. A re-entry permit would not give you any additional days and it only keeps the remainder of the permit to stay it was issued for valid when entering the country. On what basis would you be applying for the non-o visa. -
Immigration has not announced anything about it yet or changed the immigration order for extensions of stay. The insurance requirement starts on September 1st. Info is here on the TGIA website. https://longstay.tgia.org/guidelineoa Laksi does not do longstay extensions. They are still done at Chaeng Wattana. Bangkok immigration is still using the existing rules for extensions of stay for a OA visa.

Work Permit to Marriage for Visa Extension
ubonjoe replied to redinvestor's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
If immigration post date the extension cancelation you will need to apply the 60 day extension on or before that day. -
It is certainly required to apply for a non-o visa based upon retirement at a embassy or official consulate. "2.6 Applicant must be medically insured for the entire period of stay in Thailand with the following coverage: – Outpatient benefit with a sum insured of not less than 40,000 THB, and – Inpatient benefit with a sum insured of not less than 400,000 THB" Source: https://thaiembdc.org/2020/11/17/nonoretirement/ Some have changed it to the new $100,000 insurance requirement for a Non-OA visa.

Work Permit to Marriage for Visa Extension
ubonjoe replied to redinvestor's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You work permit is not really relevant for changing the reason for your extension. It could be canceled the same day you do the change. The important thing is to have a letter from your employer stating the last day you would be working. If you current extension was done at the one stop center for BOI companies your extension would have to be canceled there and then you would go to the local immigration office to apply for a new extension. You can get more time it you went to immigration before your last day of work to cancel the extension immigration would post date the cancel to give you time to apply for the new extension. -

Work Permit to Marriage for Visa Extension
ubonjoe replied to redinvestor's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
None of that is needed to change the reason for your extension from working to marriage. Your work permit will remain valid unit it expires. The 7 days is to leave the country after a extension is denied and the 1900 baht is pad for it. You can continue working at the same company and work permit with the 60 day extension to visit your wife.
