Possible 90 day online 'glitch-causer'?
ubonjoe replied to Toolong's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Did they do a new 90 day report and put a receipt for it in your passport? Doing a report in person or done by your local immigration office will not affect you doing another 90 day report online using the new site since it is sent to your local office for approval and they will have a record of the report they did. -
You can get another 60 day covid 19 up to March 25th at this time. Who told you that you could not get another one? Unless you qualify for another type of visa the only one you could get in Phnom Penh is a tourist visa.

Is this the site you went to for the appointment? https://outlook.office365.com/owa/calendar/ImmigrationOfficeGovernmentComplexChaengWattanaRd@imm1division.onmicrosoft.com/bookings/ When I checked that site I found that first appointment available is on March 7th. Appointment are not mandatory at Chaeng Wattana. You can just walk in to do it.

800K in Thai bank-fixed account??
ubonjoe replied to hackjam's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Some banks will deduct the required amount needed for the credit card when they do the letter needed for immigration. You need to check with them about it. Essentially the problem is that one of the requirements when applying for the extension of stay at immigration is that the funds must be available without any delay or penalty other than loss on interest. -
That would depend upon the school you are attending. When you apply for a non-ed visa you will get a 90 day stay from it. Then you would apply for a 90 day or one year extension dependent upon the type of the school your attending. When you apply for the extension is when you will need proof of attendance.

I have gotten letters from Bangkok Bank while I waited for it. You might be mixing up getting a one year bank statement that takes about a week to receive. Did you notice the date of this topic and replies to it were done.

Many people that are on extension of stay have entered the country with a re-entry permit only 30 days of insurance when they a applied for the Thailand Pass. When registering for the Thailand Pass there is selection for the purpose of you visit and one them is returning to Thailand that drops the departure date from the page.

Work permit for permanent resident
ubonjoe replied to MRtommyR's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The number of Thai employee needed depends upon the work permit office requires where you apply for it. The basic rule is 4 Thai employees. You need to contact them about their requirements if married to a Thai. At one time a ministerial regulation that allowed only 2 employees but it was changed around 2010. It also reduced the registered capital required to 1 million baht if married to a Thai. -
Work permit for permanent resident
ubonjoe replied to MRtommyR's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You can apply for a work permit with a non-o visa or a extension of stay based upon marriage. There is no requirement to show immigration your work permit when applying for a extension of stay unless using the income from working to prove the 40k income. -
The e visa site may be the only place to apply now and many people have used in the past to avoid a long line for the visa on arrival desk. No sure they are doing the arrive and apply for the visa on arrival now.

Joint bank account with my Thai wife
ubonjoe replied to sangtip2's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Not visa or extension related. Moved to the Marriage and Divorce Forum. -
The embassy website only mentions a bank statement is needed. I assume it would it be the same as other embassies and it is the same 20k baht or the equivalent of it required for visa applications. Link I posted earlier shows the requirements. https://phnompenh.thaiembassy.org/en/publicservice/non-immigrant-o-visa-thai-family?page=5d73b14415e39c46f40076a1&menu=5d73b14415e39c46f40076a2

He applied for the Thailand pass before leaving Thailand. A visa for entry to Thailand is not required to get it. Info the Thailand pass is here. https://tp.consular.go.th/ The required document for a non-o visa based upon marriage is here on the embassy website. https://phnompenh.thaiembassy.org/en/publicservice/non-immigrant-o-visa-thai-family?page=5d73b14415e39c46f40076a1&menu=5d73b14415e39c46f40076a2

You have to be working with a work permit and paying taxes for 3 consecutive years to apply for Thai nationality. Did you change the reason for your extension of stay (it is not a visa) from working to one based upon marriage or did you leave the country to apply for a non-o visa based upon marriage to a Thai? I suggest you look at this long on going topic for more info. https://aseannow.com/topic/121353-story-of-my-thai-citizenship-application/

The US embassy has not produced passports for many years now. You submit the application to the embassy and they send the application electronically to the states. You apply for your new passport by mail now and they keep the old one until your new one is received then they mail it back to you along with new one. Info is here: https://th.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/passports/adult-passport-renew/ Many people have applied by mail and were without their passport and had no problems. Just make a copy of your passport to show if needed and maybe proof you did the application to the embassy.
