A multiple entry tourist visa can only be applied for in your home country or where you have legal residency. He cannot get one in Savannakhet.

It will need to done according to the procedures if you want to register your foreign marriage at a Amphoe to get a Kor Ror 22 marriage registry that immigration requires to apply for a extension based upon marriage to a Thai. You can do the legalization by mail. Others have had friends or family in the UK to the mailing for the legalization and stamping by the embassy and then back to you.

Non O visa run to Savannakhet June 2022
ubonjoe replied to mtsr's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The 20k baht is not only a immigration requirement. The MFA also uses the 20k baht requirement. On many embassy websites it is stated in the visa requirement. This from the embassy in the US. Source: https://thaiembdc.org/2020/07/11/foreigners_family/ Dependent upon the exchange rate you will find that is 20k baht. That has been accepted for a visa application at HCMC and at many other embassies and consulates. It is about equal to your wife signing copies of a her ID card and house book registry at immigration, embassies and consulate. -
Thais can enter with a expired passport. She should of stood her ground and got stamped in as a Thai. Immigration will only stamp her US passport when leaving the country. Since she entered with the US passport she is under the immigration rules for non Thais, If she is staying longer than 45 days the visa exempt entry allowed she will need to apply for a 30 day extension.

90 day report question
ubonjoe replied to ASEANTraveler's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Many people have left the country with a 90 day report that is very late. Immigration on departure from the country do not check for a up to date 90 day reports. Most people remove the 90 day report receipt before leaving the country. Your day report is not past due for 7 days after the report date. -
Spell check is from your browser. That is not a forum function.

You report will not be due again until 90 days from the day you enter the country. Yes I assume you have gotten a re-entry permit if you are on a extension of stay. -

You will not need to do a 90 day report. Also airport immigration does not check for them being done. -
Extend visa in arrival only once?
ubonjoe replied to Kammie's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You can only apply for one 30 day extension of a visa exempt entry. It has been that for many years. In 2020 there were some special 30 day extensions due to coivid 19. The Mae Sai crossing is closed to foreigners like all other crossings to Myanmar. The nearest crossing open is to Laos. -
Extension of Stay based upon Marriage

A few other office have also wanted the proof of income certified by the Department of Consular Affairs of the MFA. It is just a certification of consular officer that signed the document. The wanting proof of the funds is bit over the top but some offices want it. It should not require proof it came from abroad when using a income document from a embassy. A few offices have accepted proof of a pension income from your home country. -
Did you get married here in Thailand or in the UK. If the UK it has to be legalized in the UK. The procedure is here in the file from the UK embassy. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/714089/Legalisation_info_June_2018.pdf If married here your marriage certificate would not need to be translated if using it here. If legalization is needed it can be done by the Department of Consular Affairs of the MFA. Info in Thai is here. https://consular.mfa.go.th/th/page/cate-6441-รับรองนิติกรณ์เอกสาร?menu=5d68c88b15e39c160c008184

The financial proof is the standard 20k baht or the equivalent of it in a foreign currency that is required for all visa applications. Certified means signed and dated by your wife. -
Visa runs to the border
ubonjoe replied to connda's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
A visa exempt entry is 45 days by land or air. If you have a valid multiple entry non-o visa you would get a 90 day entry. If married to a Thai you can apply for a 60 day extension to visit you wife. Only one is allowed per entry with a visa or a visa exempt entry. -
This works good for ants. It is like chalk. I have used a knife to scrape it off to put on ant nests.
