I think the government is blind to where this is leading. Since this problem is clearly not going away but rather is getting worse , literally , with each passing day , they need to start planning ahead on how to accommodate all the migrants that will continue to arrive in the future. What will they do when all the hotels are full up ? If all the hotels are full ,where will tourists , who generate income and jobs , stay ? I mention a solution in another thread and I still think it has a lot of merit. Better than sticking heads in the sand and praying the issue will resolve itself. My suggestion is that the government invests in purchasing a decommissioned cruise ship or two, anchor it off shore , and use it to house arriving immigrants. Many of these ships are being sent to scrap before their time since covid completely destroyed the cruise ship business. People paid a lot to go on a cruise and so nobody could say that the accommodation is below par. Private cabins with all facilities , many eating areas and kitchens , swimming pools , cinemas etc. Immigrants could be housed on the ships until their claim for asylum has been processed. The Carnival Inspiration( pictured below ) could handle 2000 passengers when it was operating. And if it doesn't work out at least some money will have been saved and the ship is collateral that can be sold for scrap.

No idea. Completely stumped.

Sad. As Randy Crawford sang : Everything Must Change Everything must change Nothing stays the same Everyone will change No one stays the same The young become the old Mysteries do unfold For that's the way of time Nothing and no one goes unchanged There are not many things in life You can be sure of... Except, rain comes from the clouds Sun light up the sky Hummingbirds do fly

Yea but Thaksin .......blah blah blah vitriol ad nauseam. The reason Thaksin would not stand trial in Thailand is that the judges are all his hand picked enemies who would not uphold the law as written down but rather ' interpret the law ' as they were instructed. Thaksin haters want their cake and eat it too. They criticize Thaksin for surrounding himself with highly paid lawyers who's job is to ensure he never transgresses on any written laws , thus making himself immune from prosecution. Then they criticize him for not facing up to a trial where the written laws are trampled on by his enemies who have been set to judge him by moving legal goalposts and passing sentence according to their own political alignments. Think about it. Why would a seriously wealthy man knowingly break a written law thus allowing himself to be prosecuted. That's what the army of legal experts were for .....duh. Hate him if you want to , but silly to keep dragging ' the law ' and the justice system into things. Would that be the same justice system that has not caught up with the Red Bull heir and the teenage girl driver that pushed a mini van off the elevated motorway etc etc.

Drunk Burmese man stabs his Thai “friend” to death in Pattaya

Fortunately alcohol is not a danger to society unlike that weed stuff which is a real menace. People getting the munchies and lying down . Very dangerous -
Pathetic. massive problems with alcohol abuse but they don't think its a danger to society. They just can't stand to think that others are enjoying themselves doing things differently. Unfortunately , if Anutin falls , weed will lose its unlikely champion and a crack down will follow so enjoy it while you can.

I bought a cheap one on Lazada and it was ok on my acoustics. But most of the cheaper ones like the one I bought work only on vibrations not sound.Fewer vibrations on a solid body compared to hollow body. I would advise the op that if he wants to get one get a good one. I never use the one I bought as although it gets the tuning in the ballpark it is not spot on, especially when using a capo. Annoying when you are playing something and you can hear that something is a wee bit out. How sweet when everything is spot on. Sigh. Unfortunately my playing days are drawing to a close because of arthritis. The simplest chord , Am , is now difficult for me since I can hardly bend my index finger. At least playing lead is still pretty easy.

With you tube settings you can slow things down to half or quarter speed

Depends on guitar. Don't have that problem on my knock off Tele. But since you mention being in tune this is another area beginners struggle with. You can buy a tuning gizmo from Lazada but they work better on acoustic than electric. I use this video quite a lot.

Which guitar and amp did you buy ? Before you even start you should try to get the guitar ' set up ' for you. This means adjusting the action ( height of strings from fretboard ) so that the strings are as low as possible without buzzing on the frets when you finger chords. The reason why this is important is that if the guitar is physically difficult to play because the strings are too high it puts off a lot of beginners who give up. In connection with this you should buy a set of extra light gauge strings ( 42 32 24 16 11 9 ) which are easier to play and better for electric guitar. Ernie Ball Super Slinky are a popular choice with many players. Once you have attended to these two things you will find the whole experience a lot easier. You won't really benefit from a teacher since there are millions of tutorial lessons on youtube. EG. You can search them out yourself. Learn a few basic chords to start and master these so that you can play a few songs. I have just learnt the chords to this from Youtube ( not the solo ...too difficult ) and you will notice the advantage of estra light strings as they are a lot easier to bend : Lead guitar can come a bit later, again , plenty of tutorials on you tube.

Exactly. You would think by now that people would understand how masks and the current covid vaccines are supposed to work. But no....always some idiotic moron will pipe up with : " You see, he was triple vaccinated and still got infected !!! .They don't work suckers. ! " Or with masks : " Masks don't protect you one iota from covid. If you think they do , go on and provide a link . Go on ...if you can . " Sigh, never under estimate the number of really stupid and selfish people there are.

Couches don't need medicine. Just fluff up the cushions a bit and it will be ok. -
Does anyone even care about the World Cup this year?

When they arrive the plane will have time to re fuel, get cleaned , restocked and a change of crew just in time for the England squad to reboard. -

Not much interested. But I would like to see Wales beat England. -
For a high end job , but for something manual I doubt it. When I first used to return to the UK on long holidays Thailand did not have the reputation it has now and people took it as just another destination. Over the years this changed. If I told them I lived in Thailand it often raised eyebrows. To Thujone I would advise not giving up. Never know whats around the corner. They cant just make you homeless. Something will turn up. Galling to think there are people landing on the beaches illegally every day being put up in hotels while you are being threatened with homelessness. Good luck with it. Perseverance will pay off.

1st time extension of non-O requirements
Denim replied to Peabody's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I am married to a Thai. When making the application for a 1 year extension based on marriage to a Thai , after submitting the documents to local immigration for approval they are sent to Bangkok. You then return in 30 days time to get your 1 year extension of stay stamp. 90 day report can be done online or an in and out job in person -

Plus you don't get it on the day you apply. It will be under consideration for 30 days then you have to go back and get the actual extension stamp -
