Outgoing Thai PM found guilty of neglect of duty over PM2.5 pollution
Denim replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Exactly. When I first came here back in 1979 they were doing this and today they still are. Only one thing has changed. Back then Chiang Mai was way way smaller than it is today and there wasn't a fraction of the traffic. Now , compounding the forest fires is all the increasing pollution created by the traffic and more industrialised nature of the city. I'd lay a bet that 2 years from now it will still be a problem but who will take that bet ? -
Maybe that is true in Pattaya but not in the provinces. Very limited western food ready made. As for costs and labor , If you make a large batch then keep in the freezer you only have to cook once but you have 6 meals prepared. Works out cheaper cooking in bulk.

I cook a lot these days and we rarely eat out anymore. Done the cottage pie , with pork instead of traditional beef as shown in your picture. I also do a similar fish pie substituting , dolly fish , small tin of tuna and shrimps ( no heads tails or skin. ) for meat. These are cooked in a roux of butter , flour and mustard. Another favorite and easy to make is a chicken , pork and potato Adobo. In the cool season I make chicken and mushroom pastry pies. All sorts of things.

Best wait and see who will be forming the next government. If Bhumjaithai are not part of any coalition then the future of legal cannabis has a big question mark hanging over it.

Outgoing Thai PM found guilty of neglect of duty over PM2.5 pollution

Meaningless clucking. I doubt that any government can deal with this terrible situation without the full co operation of neighboring countries. Easier said than done given the current situation. More rhetoric and huffing and blowing will achieve nothing. Problem is that if effective draconian measures were implemented there would be an immediate responsefrom human rights groups. Miscreants don't give a fig for words. There will always be a handful of selfish individuals who will torch forests and disappear. Very hard to police such a large area without a huge investment in manpower. A potential ranger behind every tree would be expensive. And what should be the appropriate sentence to anyone starting a fire ? -

Poland now has the strongest military in Western Europe. Anybody messing with Poland will get a bloody nose. -
Give me a little brown Isaan girl any day of the week. The person in the pictures is all arms and legs like a giant grass hopper.

Three trail runners die, 16 injured in bus accident in Si Sa Ket province
Denim replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
Agreed. In first gear especially , the bus would have been going at a crawl. -
What's Fang like these days ? Used to be possible to take a boat from there to Chiang Rai. Don't know if this is still possible.? Never quite made it there as our hire car broke down some 20 years ago. Looks nice if you can afford it. https://www.booking.com/hotel/th/maekok-river-village-resort.en-gb.html?aid=304142&label=gen173bo-1FCAEoggI46AdICVgDaN0BiAEBmAEJuAEXyAEM2AEB6AEB-AEDiAIBmAICqAIDuALXg66lBsACAdICJDI1MTUyY2E3LWY4YjUtNDk2ZS1hYTExLTcxYTU3OGQ4NGZiN9gCBeACAQ&sid=daa906956711f9ab862839b3eb47e643&all_sr_blocks=26970801_204734284_0_9_0&checkin=2023-07-20&checkout=2023-07-21&dest_id=-3247720&dest_type=city&dist=0&group_adults=2&group_children=0&hapos=19&highlighted_blocks=26970801_204734284_0_9_0&hpos=19&matching_block_id=26970801_204734284_0_9_0&no_rooms=1&req_adults=2&req_children=0&room1=A%2CA&sb_price_type=total&sr_order=popularity&sr_pri_blocks=26970801_204734284_0_9_0__216000&srepoch=1688961526&srpvid=6f5e1bfa654d01bd&type=total&ucfs=1&activeTab=photosGallery

Policeman Dies After Drug-Crazed Man Slashes His Throat

Do they not have tasers here ? -
An honest senator , rare as hens teeth. The fact that his social circle might now evaporate somewhat shouldn't bother him since the more self interested senators are not worthy of any attention.

I watched all of his. The thing I found is that the younger vloggers like Haze and Girl Outdoors spend too much time looking at the camera and talking so you don't get to see as much of the trail as you want. I liked Tubba and sheep because although there is some looking at the camera there is also a lot more of the magnificent views. The Welsh girl , Fit for Adventure is also funny and entertaining.

I've watched every video I can on walking the Cape Wrath Trail in Scotland since it has interested me since I was a teenager. I thought I might try it myself but I guess it will never happen now. This series is the best of the bunch. Second best is this Indonesian / American hiker. Super fit but smokes a pack of Marlboroughs a day when hiking. The Nekkid watchmaker. Unbelievable complicated timepieces renovated with amusing commentary.

I sell on Etsy and yes, buyer pays the shipping costs. Prior to covid I gave free shipping as it was a lot cheaper. Now , the nearly three fold increase means I have to pass on the shipping cost. In addition I have had to stop shipping many things as the new postal charges make the item too expensive. When things were going really well I was making between 40-60 thousand profit a month. Now down to about 3000 or less a month. I will be getting my state pension in September and plan to give up my online shop. No longer worth the effort.
