    You can get a new Aussie passport through the embassy. As you can also get an emergency travel document. I'm pretty sure nothing else really matters about your status in Thailand. Edit* Maybe I don't understand what it is you're trying to say.

    I'm pretty sure that's only the case if you're getting a passport for the first time, not for a renewal.

    You don't have to go to Bkk twice. You can get it posted to you after lodging the application. Why don't you apply online/ by mail?

    I tried it and there were quite a few pop ups etc. Watchafl costs me about 4000 Baht per year. Works every time and no pops up. I know you can find most things available to stream but I can't really be bothered. For me, its money well spent.
