    I'm pretty sure that's only the case if you're getting a passport for the first time, not for a renewal.

    You don't have to go to Bkk twice. You can get it posted to you after lodging the application. Why don't you apply online/ by mail?

    I tried it and there were quite a few pop ups etc. Watchafl costs me about 4000 Baht per year. Works every time and no pops up. I know you can find most things available to stream but I can't really be bothered. For me, its money well spent.

    I'm not sure about a vpn being recognised by the website. I use TPB, Lime and RGBG and have never needed a vpn. Occasionally got asked on Lime with a pop up. I just cancelled it and downloaded it.

    For those discussing the merits of agents. A mate from Oz arrived into Thailand last week (VOA). Intends to go the retirement route. Went to Kamphaeng Phet Immigration for details. They gave him a certificate of Residency. He went to Bangkok bank and was able to open an account no problems.
