Some people on here have said they don't expect the ATO to target pensioners, not Centrelink. Not going there again. You seem to be confusing Centrelink and the ATO's duties. It's not up to Centrelink to chase residents or non-residents. They will chase people owing debts to them. Residency and non-residency status will be determined by the ATO, but It's no use going down that rabbit hole again.

Just an update on Oz passport processing times. Received an email from the Embassy on 15 June saying the application had been sent to Oz for processing. Received it this morning so a 2 week turn around. Also included was a letter saying the old passport has been cancelled. Now just need to transfer stamps at my next 90 day sign on. Plus take new passport to the bank to update. Will wait until next year when my licence is up for renewal to update that as well.

You obviously know it was a slip of the tongue/pen and I meant resident tax. Why on earth would I mean non-resident. But you continue to derail the thread. As suggested earlier, why don't you start your own thread so can you argue with yourself.
