  1. Somewhere Boy Danny was a baby when his mother was killed in a car crash. Overcome with grief, his father locked him away in a house, telling him the outside world is full of monsters that will spirit him away like his mother.
  2. I agree it's not going away, but agree to disagree it levels the playing field. Most of the Free Agent's go to strong Victorian clubs like Richmond, Collingwood and Geelong. You don't see the bottom 6 sides getting good players a lot.
  3. The Ice Cream Wars The original idea of Glasgow's housing schemes, was to give people a decent place to live and raise their families. But a lack of shops and other amenities, as well as growing poverty, led to an increase in anti-social behaviour.
  4. A few episodes in and really enjoying this one. Led by Daniel Ek, a group of passionate young entrepreneurs come together in what seems to be the impossible task to change the music industry - and the world. They set out to create a legal streaming service for music.
  5. Perhaps read it again. Bruce1054 was talking about superannuation, not the OAP.
  6. You will get more advice if you put a new message under the home country subforum. FWIW, IMO you'd be a lot better off renting out your place or selling it and keeping the money and rent in Thailand.
  7. "Sorry ubonjoe but you gave me incorrect info. No big deal but the hit to your reputation is greater than my small inconvenience. " Seriously? UJ has helped hundred's if not thousand's of people on here. You're being ridiculous, and that's a polite way of putting it.
  8. Aaron Francis was a good pick up for you Rip. Got him cheap and I reckon he could be a jet at a good club.
  9. I'm rapidly losing faith in the draft Uncle Alex. Too many "I'm homesick" players these days. My solution would be, first round picks are contracted for 4 years with an option to negotiate salaries after the first 2 years. 2nd rounders for 3 years and after that the standard 2 years. If you're drafted interstate, and extra $20 000 per year for family visits etc. Get rid of these salary dumps and Free Agency. Geelong have won the GF, recruited 3 players and still end up with pick 7. I know they're well organised, but that doesn't sit well with me. Hope you're enjoying yourself.
  10. I'm pretty sure the passports are issued from Australia. Covid has created a huge backlog where people weren't applying for passports because they couldn't travel. Those 6 to 8 weeks waiting times are pretty standard for US and UK passports as well. A mate of mine got his back in 4 weeks FWIW.
  11. Unless I've read this incorrectly, you can apply online. https://thailand.embassy.gov.au/bkok/Mailed_in_passport_applications.html
  12. If you're looking to do this in 5 years, it's way too early to start looking into things IMO. In most circumstances your daughter will be too old to be classed as a dependent so she will need to apply for her own visa.
  13. A Friend of the Family Summary: Tells the harrowing true story of the Broberg family, whose daughter Jan was kidnapped multiple times over a period of years by a charismatic, obsessed family "friend."
  14. Alaska Daily A journalist seeks a fresh start in Alaska working for a newspaper in Anchorage.
  15. I think it would be best to split this question into 2 parts, so you can post the transferring the money question to a more appropriate subforum. As far as the visa goes, she will need to apply for a S/C 309 visa. https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/partner-offshore/provisional-309#Overview When does your wife's daughter finish payback and what age will she be?
  16. The Body in the Bag RAR A senior cop reckons it wasn't murder. OK..... Summary: The Body in the Bag will take a deep dive into the mysterious story around the death of Gareth Williams. In August 2010, Gareth Williams, a GCHQ employee on a 3-year secondment to MI6, was found dead inside a padlocked duffel bag in the bath of his London flat. A post-mortem examination carried out by a Home Office pathologist was unable to determine the cause of death, but two years later, a coroner ruled that it was likely Williams had been unlawfully killed – but with no sign of struggle in his flat, and a lack of forensic evidence, the Met Police believe Gareth acted alone. This case has become one of the biggest unsolved mysteries in recent British history, and even now, twelve years after Williams' death, the public are still waiting for answers as to what happened to the 31-year-old codebreaker who had been branded a genius since childhood. Through interviews with police, MPs, and forensic scientists – as well as archive and detailed reconstruction - this documentary will re-examine the case in a bid to get to the bottom of the events that led to Williams’ untimely death; did he act alone or were shadowy forces involved?
  17. I guess not a claim as such. We have roadside assistance with them as well. Got a message on the instrument panel there was a problem with the gearbox and not to drive. The wife phoned them about a tow and they said said a platform truck would be better. One came within an hour and took it to the dealership.
  18. LOL I'm not bothered about anything champ. Just stating what I would've done. I certainly wouldn't cut off my nose to spite my face by not getting my car serviced there, due to a moronic comment by a salesman.
  19. It's been closed since Covid. A long time before the floods. AKAIK, there's no plan to reopen it anytime soon.
  20. It's still closed to foreigners, border hops.
  21. The Walk-In TPB Follows a Neo-Nazi who plans to kill an MP and how his plan was foiled by an inside man.
