  1. It's getting a bit hot in here gents. Hopefully this will lighten the mood. A favourite Pom and Aussie, Michael Parkinson and Barry Humphries. An Ode to Parky.
  2. Warne, Symonds and Border were all handy but not recognized as all rounders. Not even close. Some people regards Adam Gilchrist as an all rounder.
  3. He was probably the last but well before my time.
  4. Dougie only took 49 wickets. Was never seen as all rounder. Just a handy part timer.
  5. I can't even remember one TBH.
  6. Smith and Warner were more complicit than Bancroft.
  7. I'm not comparing them. Just saying I think you're being harsh on a 24 year old who has just played 20 odd tests,
  8. I don't give a toss about weightlifters champ. Just showing the facts about Atherton.
  9. Bancroft got 9 months which many thought was harsh.
  10. Comparing a 24 year old to one of the all time greats isn't really fair. A batting allrounder averaging 35 isn't low at all. Botham average 33 with the bat and 28 with the ball. Flintoff averaged 31 and 32. Stokes 36 and 32. Compared to Green who is averaging 35 with the bat and 34 with the ball shows he is doing very good.
  11. Again Everyone does it, just not as obvious as Bancroft. https://cricket.one/cricket-news/trescothick-reveals-how-england-masterminded-a-ball-tampering-ploy/62e146bf3094a4d5d6db12a9
  12. Let's not get to precious. Your captain Michael Atherton is no cleanskin. Michael Atherton, 1994 In the "dirt in pocket" affair, then England captain Michael Atherton was accused of ball tampering during a Test match with South Africa at Lord's in 1994, after television cameras caught Atherton reaching into his pocket and then rubbing a substance on the ball. Atherton denied ball tampering, claiming that he had dirt in his pocket which he used to dry his hands. He was also accused of lying to the match referee. Atherton was summoned to the match referee and was fined £2,000 (equivalent to £4,200 in 2021[6]) for failing to disclose the dirt to the match referee.[7]
  13. Being harsh on Green I think. You're talking about a 24 year old all rounder on his first tour to England. Already has a test 100 and a five for. His batting average of 35 compares favourably with other all rounders.
  14. I wish it was a bit of banter. It's turned quite vitriolic though.
  15. TBF, Stokes did ask for flat pitches to help Bazball. I don't think Captains should be commenting on what pitches they would like. Especially in the media. Just leave it up to the curators.
  16. Was also 45 years ago. Both countries have done stuff they're probably not too proud off TBH.
  17. Not going to get into all of the slagging off crap. For true lovers of the game, it's been a sensational series so far. Apart from this one, the first 3 tests were crackers that could've gone either way.
  18. These are the last 6 Ashes series. 13-0 in Australia 6-6 in England
  19. I'm taking it one game at a time Uncle Alex I've jagged it a couple of times I think.
  20. That's it for Round 19 Trend Setters. Rip and Chooka both picked the card. Well done boys. The Twix bars go to Rip for being closest to the margin. That's back to back wins for Rip now. Until next week.
  21. This one dropping now. Joe attempts to balance her personal and professional life as the tip of the spear in the CIA's war on terror. She enlists Cruz, a Marine Raider, as an undercover operative in the Lioness Program.
  22. Murder in The Family Episode 2 has just dropped. https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/showbiz-tv/itv-murder-family-start-date-27307830
  23. Sheryl, would the Melatonin you recommend be for a sleep aid, anxiety or both?
  24. London Kills I agree with you. Think it was made for daytime viewing, hence the lack of violence and honest dialogue. A very tame series IMO. Especially compared to Luther, Happy Valley etc.
