  1. must admit it was always an issue for me when staying in a hotel or guest house around pattaya to find that a bottle of water from the room fridge was almost the same price as a bottle of beer and the beer wasn't cheap, I always simply stocked up with my own water..............but this still pissed me off, then to the bar, 65baht for a beer and 50baht for a bottle of water, now there's over pricing and there's just plain robbery

  2. So rather than performing their police duties, they waste their time doing this nonsense. (Throws hands and the air and sighs)

Are people here so entranced in negativity that they can't escape no matter what

This is excellent PR and lighthearted, is it so difficult to see the good of things...............makes me wonder if we have people on this forum that just sit hour after hour day after day and post the same negative crap about the country they chose to be guests in over and over, sort of reminds me of the polar bear footage I saw once where it was standing in it's cage just swinging it's body back and forth obviously not happy about where it was but didn't know how to get out of it.

  3. Tod_daniels..................well you have voiced your opinion and quite frankly I disagree with you 100%

I assume as you consider it some sort of prank you won't be posting on this thread again

Also from nancy's disclosure of her business and the fact that her ex <deleted> falang boyfriend visits TV we'll be having his contribution pretty soon too if not already

    Amazing stuff

  4. I oppose the death penalty anywhere, but isn't the key question whether each person knew or did not know they were transporting illegal drugs? Don't you find it a little hard to believe that they did not know?

I really don't actually, it is amazing just how naive some of these young Thai people really are, something I have discovered many times.

You have to set the scene..........this apparently trustworthy older influencial thai business man promises them good jobs in China, get them set up with transportation and organises everything, then tells them in the heat of the moment you must take these small items with you and give them to your contact on arrival in china, do you really think any of them would have the remotest idea what they where getting into....................hardly

If your culture learned 'read: brainwashed' you that it is most, most unpolite, simply impossible to refuse a request or order from a senior (whatever the concequences) it is too easy to call this 'naivity'... Yes ofcourse it is very naive, but it's the culture, education etc. that is to be blamed, most they don't know any better. Say yes if you think no, accept a package on the airport even if you don't want to, imagine how trough-and-trough rotten the people are who take advantage this way...

In Amsterdam Japanese tourists are terribly easy victims for robbers who offer them drugged food or a drink then mug them, for the same reason

Beside this most of this girls probably had never been on an airport before, no experience with travelling, crime, drugs, risks, brought up to be naive, no questioning just care your family, respect your elderly and seniors and do what you are told to do, and the only TV programmes you know are soaps, such a small and ignorant world you live in...

Suddenly you get a chance in life to work abroad, how lucky you are, all your family would be so proud of you, going to another country for your carreer...

    Very, very sad...

Great Post and right on the money, if this story is true I find it very very disturbing, an investigation on this side should be carried out by the Thai authorities

  6. In general the Justice system works in 2 ways, 1. as a deterent 2. For those that ignore the deterent to be punnished and possibly be rehabilitated

In order to be a deterent the people who are intending knowingly to break the law need to be aware of the consequences

Firstly if this story is true - does anyone really think these naive young Thai Girls new what they where actually doing and if so

where they aware what would happen to them if caught

I don't know what else to say without knowing the facts but on the Thai side the person that arranged for these young girls

to break the law needs to be brought to account and exposed with a view to send them to China to face the music and possibly admit that

these young girls where not aware of what they where doing, this will probably never happen because the people involve will likely have enough power money and influence to avoid being exposed

Again assuming the story is true...................................so sad if it is

  7. I received an email back in July about drug traffickers in China, all pictures, very gruesome. Wife reads the same magazine and read this same story. The death penalty in China is a bullet to the back of the head.

Even without the details of what methods are used to murder, it's heart-wrenching that totally innocent, hardworking young people can be punished by death just for being a bit naive or ignorant by a failed government who cannot seperate right from wrong themselves.

But that's how they are, most of all I can't understand that there is no international media attention for this...

you are so right, very sad indeed.

  8. Nancy, thankyou for taking the time to post here and tell your feelongs and your experience, I think I understand most of what you share with us.

Many falangs on here certaintly understand that there are many good Thai people (including girls) and are under no illusion that we can find them, I would guess many falang that post here already have and are even married with children.

We are also aware of the darker side of Thai people who just want to take from falang and not give and that you are not one of them..

All I will say is there are bad falang too, sounds to me like you started with a good one that has gone bad and has lost interest in you for this other girl, maybe time to move on sweetie.

I hope that your mother is ok and she gets well soon, my thoughts are with you and your family at this time.

I also have to say I am not impressed with the responses you have recieved so far on this thread, you have taken a long time to post here and indeed taken the time to share with everyone, the least you should get is respect for your honesty.

Guys with the IQ of 30 that have posted here so far why not go back to posting one liners of crap some place else, and don't bother to reply to me, this thread belongs to nancy and doesn't need a lot of unrelated insults directed at me or anyone else so just leave it, if you think you have made a contribution with your previous posts on this thread then just leave them or..................

good luck and take care ..............hugs

  9. so are you saying that while you where at the machine this guy leaned over and started hitting the keypad ?

can I ask where you having difficulty at the time, did you hit a wrong button and ended up with Thai and not English, where you stuck at one point and obviously needing assistance, and finally could this guy have been genuinely trying to help if any of the above is correct ??? sounds to me like you where hitting buttons and getting knowhere fast, remember unless this guy gets your card and your pin he's hardly going to do a big pile.

    hmmmmm

  10. You have to ask yourself, what key element and influence has disrupted this pleasant coastal area of 30 years ago? It wasn't like this decades ago - have any guesses?

    ya ba happened

I agree 100% most of the offenders caught are claiming they need the money to feed their drug habit, tackling the drug problem head on should have a follow on effect with crime reduction but none the less it is an increasing statistic in pataya

going back to the subject matter of this news thread, it is important for people to take what ever means available to check the ages of girls that you engage, as the article says it is very hard to tell some mature 16 year olds from over 20's, if in doubt walk away.

  11. I have HID on mine both low and high beam and they are simply brilliant, on full beam at night it is better than any car I have owned and the distance that light illuminates ahead is staggering, as for adding relays and heavier wires - total waste of time if you ask me unless the bike is old in that case it might be worth doing as the wires degrade and build up resistance over time especially high current stuff like lights, but each to their own :)

I run my HIDS without relays but this can cause problems on an Injected system especially with stuff like Knock sensor signals so I'll be fitting relays soon

  12. OMG...............OP, you will be locked away and never see the light of pattaya agani,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

you have been chastised by the sad group of intelectuals that reside on this boored evry day becuase they have noting better two do, they are the creem of pattaya

  13. 1850 Baht (approx $58) for an office visit with a specialist to include X-rays. I'm guessing such a visit in the U.S./Europe with no insurance coverage would cost a LOT, LOT more thatn $58.

we are in thailand .... get a grip

it's people like you that are going to ruin it or have already.........................................

i just wish people would stop making comparisons with their over inflated capitalistic home countries

I'll bet that most of the people on this forum that comment on people complaining about prices, have a business interest in Thailand, now that's a bet I will take
