  1. Just deal with it? There won't be any celebrated October general opening where the ASQ requirements were to be rescinded. I'm suspecting that this won't come about, realistically, until into the first quarter of 2022. It is what it is.
  2. Not that any of the very late arriving vaccines is not a plus - keeping the positive vibes flowing. In time, things will look much brighter - maybe. The deeper cynic in me might suggest that Thai authorities had amble time and enough political pull to have secured measurable doses of AZ, Pfizer and Moderna months ago. Yet, the usual Thai manner of authoritarian ineptitude and simple mangled management became the fate of the society.
  3. ....and can't be considered independently democratic. So we're back to square one.
  4. The real and sadder issues could easily be addressed: Why are you good souls clearly dependent on Western-style supermarkets and whatnot?
  5. Seems to be quite difficult to grasp for most. The basic reasoning and cause of out-of-control infection/transmission rates is the fact that a greater number of the population aren't observing/practicing mitigation protocol [masking, distancing, gathering in large groups, blah, blah]. Has little or nothing to do with lockdowns/no lockdowns or restrictive measures/no restrictions.
  6. Yeah. As it appears that any and every sort of vaccine official documentation/certificate/card will be continuously updated or changed for each booster to come. This will probably be our future - as the COVID continues to mutate and spawn, the vaccines will change and improve and our vaccine documentation will change form as well.....instead, all pertinent and periodic info will be imbedded into our personal mobile units.
  7. The tribute system has been in place for ages, in one form or another.
  8. How romantic. Students that protest but don't know why they protests all the while missing the bigger picture of why they might be protesting. Taking to the streets does little - as it's been obvious for months, even years. Speaking of FFP or Progressive Thailand or whatever they're calling themselves today - do they really feel a kinship with the rotating gangs of fashionable protesters? In their own secret corners, I don't believe they do.
  9. Surely we could. Yet, they have to be "allowed" to exist and flourish - which really hasn't existed forever. Any inquire regarding the possibilities of such independent or alternative opposition would be clearly moot.
  10. Less we forget the dark underbelly of the Shinawatra's regimes.
  11. An even more preferable practice might be to live one's protest. Historically, it works.
  12. Learn how to acclimate and adjust. Eat local.
  13. Aside from all these current and deceptive activities, the new cycle of demonstrations might suggest that the powers that be will be looking to reintroduce the practice and protocol of the "Secret and Unspoken Disappearing Policies"
  14. Uh-huh. They're most certainly well entrenched, as they have been figuratively since the '30s and more realistically since the late '50s - and gaining strength with each passing decade. There are these rather naive and idealistic circles that suggest there is a looming change about. Don't bet the house on it.
  15. Yet, we sure don't approach this whole mess with a collective mindset. Imagine the possibilities if cooperative practices [for the commons] were in place. As a "developed" species - we suck.
  16. ...with a sprinkling of Thainess. ????
  17. ....and nature continues on her dominating ways.
  18. The tea jar must be light during these trying times. Grasping at straws.
