  1. I don't know about many of you but I have lived here most of my adult life, I have seen coups and military in the street before and really never thought much of it. The always seemed to have a smile on their face and when I was younger I was more interested in going out and having fun than what was going on around me.

It seems the sky train is unsafe now, I hate to hear my girlfriend has decided to use it to come over. Nothing has happened in the MRT yet but I don't much like using that either. I don't go to work at the moment, so I have been sitting at home just reading twitter feeds and anything I can get my hands on and I am thinking.

I want to go home. This suck, and doesn't feel like home anymore.

Anyone else have similar feelings? When will this end?

  2. this looks to me like one of the many similar stories - the "minnow" is caught, but "big fish" are still swimming around...

... was she desperat, greedy, or whatever?-no matter for me. if she gets her (very very hard punishment) -and if this is well covered with medias - this sends to another desperate persons a clear message: - "don't involve yourself at any kind of drug business".

drug business is if i can say "alive" because - no one is tryng (seriously) to stop this, there are allways customers that want to pay to "get high", and there are greedy criminal people who are willy to provide services for that money.

i think that i personaly would really rather die now -this moment, than to spend another 40(i'm 41) years in jail. -"no thanks"

Unfortunately people don't actually work like that, its just people seem to think they do.

  3. Some people have no choice, some people are stupid and see it as a quick way to make money, and some people are just opportunistic and dumb. Any of those doesn't change the fact that keeping this person in prison for a long time is simply going to cost the government money and doesn't help them catch the real traffickers.

Just another drug mule in the BKK hilton

The war on drugs will always fail. It's an industry which doesn't produce anything for the good of th economy, I mean how do you make money off taking other peoples shit and destroying it all the time and locking them up? Can't sell their organs, although that'd be a good deterrent I could see some of you advocating.

  5. Wow big crime doing some drugs.. come on the guy did not harm anyone to pay for his habit.

But ok this is Thailand and drugs are bad.

Well if hes a TV Star he could be seen as some kind of Role Model for the more impressionable masses - and its not like he was toking on a Joint or something, hes doing a serious class-A Drug (where i come from)

Prosecute according to the law, if the press coverage is enough to make at least one teenager NOT start taking drugs - its worth while.

Does that actually make sense to you? Can you rationally see a teen seeing that and thinking that in any way?

    Seriously?

  6. Lol at the stupid anti ice properganda pic, I have met a lot of people who do ice regularly but I am still yet to run into death. I have never done it and yet somehow I look more like death than her, and I don't even do drugs... Maybe its more a lack of exercise or being in an office all day...

9kgs is nothing, I have seen the massive (project type places) housing projects around bangkok and if they don't look easier and more profitable than those towers in the TV show the wire, then idk what does. Probably enough for 1 day in one of those places...

  7. "I am scared about the whole prospect of going there without the cash..."

I find it interesting in the number of TVers who have recently admitted to lapses of reason and are unable to pay their way. One guy couldn't pay his rent, and wanted to walk away from his lease. Two guys didn't have sufficient funds to pay for their monthly electric bills. And now you.

There's a difference between having rent and finding out you owe 20,000 baht to someone. I have rent. I have everything I need... I just didn't expect to fuc_k up like this, and as you can understand as a human being, accidents happen.

But thank you, please stay on OP.

BTW I lived here for 8 years with my dad and went to high school here, then i moved back to my home country and studied there for a few years. This year I am back here learning thai. Do i really need to explain my life story for you to give me a piece of advice.

  8. I am not living here iwth no money at all I actually get a good allowance from my dad... He is actually somewhere in the region too, hence why if i wait he will be back and i can afford it in the near future, or wait until the start of next month when my allowance hits my account and just dont spend too much too early next month... I still have money but like not enough for where I am up to, shoot me for not saving.

  9. Also I don't know if this helps but I went away for a sporting event and competed with a Thai team representing Thailand which is why I left. It was sponsored by the millitary and we had some crazy paper work to carry our paintball guns in and out of Thailand and Malaysia. Maybe thats why it got messed up? Will having done something for thailand sway any of their minds?

  10. My last entry to the country was the 23rd of november, at the time the customs guy was kinda confused and i messed up a little and had to refill the form... after that though he sorted it out and said i was re entering on my student visa. I assumed because i had lived here before with my dad for many years that the 90 day then started from then. But I checked this weekend thinking the date was coming up but the stamp in my passport says permitted to stay until the 15th of december.. whcih would have been my reporting date if i didnt leave the country... but as one reply said i have a single entry visa... and i used the reentry on that so perhaps the 90 days didnt reset, but then i got less time than a tourist visa would have...

  11. Hey guys,

I am currently here in LOS on a education visa, learning thai ect. I left in November and returned November 23rd with my reentry permit. So I went through got everything stamped and put my passport into a safe location. Now I have been here for 8 years and remember in the past the 90 days resets when you re enter the country, so the date is coming up and I have checked my passport and it says 15th of December... I am permitted to be here until the 15th of December. Which would have been my original next 90 day check in with immigration.

A friend of mine told me it is 500 baht a day you miss it, that means I am up to 17,500 baht now >< I can't afford that at the moment. I am pretty sure the customs official made the mistake, or has the policy changed and you have to continue on with your original date, which seems silly as I confirm my address when I re-enter and I assume the airport taxes are similar to the fee I pay when I go back (in theory I mean).

Any Idea what will happen? What happens if they want me to pay 17,500 and I don't have that kind of cash? Surely even if I have made this minor mistake they wouldn't do anything to irrational would they?
