The most int. Hospitals have farangs working there. This can be true. But if I am the father of the kids I took a good lawyer and try to confiscate the bus so long that the company sign that they pay the bill and made a big deposit.

It is just a security reason. In my eyes a good hotel/condo took the ID  and if your visitor will gone they call you and ask that everything is ok!!! And just than give the ID back.

But this not help if they charge additional drinks what you never ordered.

If I understand it right they can use this to revoke a Thai Nationality because they come inside Thailand with a foreign passport (ID Card).

Don't believe me? Try buying a condo or property in Thailand with cash. Or try sending the equivalent of 10 million baht to or from Thailand or even moving it around into investments in Thailand. You will be definitely asked the source of the cash and if suspicions are raised, the Thai police will contact you for further information if they think it is necessary.

Do you want to change the laws? She does not have to prove anything. The police must prove that the money comes from illegal sources and not the other way round.
