  1. You may go to Photisan Market on the corner of Naklua and Third Roads if you want fresh meat, fish and veg.
  2. I forgot about Foodland even though I live in the area, actually I've never been inside of Terminal 21, to me it's just another Asian shower of s**t.
  3. I have 2 brother in laws monks, I give them nothing, both are around 30 years younger than me, they both have skills in the building industry. If They have cash flow problems, then they need to change their career paths.
  4. Similar shops nearby? It's a tourist area and most tourist don't drive cars. So the nearest super markets are Lotus in Pattaya Nua or Big C in Pattaya Sorng or Pattaya Klang. May I add that even the old Best Supermarket was really set up for tourists as it was was surrounded by hotels and resorts. Being tourist orientated they have never had a wide range of meat products, again how many tourists have cooking facilities. All supermarkets only supply on demand.
  5. When I first hit Pattaya 25 years ago I never seen a lady boy especially around sois 7 and 8 where I used to drink. One night I ventured down to Walking Street and I seen them in Pattaya for the first time. Since then they're every where, I suppose they think I their sister can throw it around Pattaya why can't they. I'll never forget a trip to Maha Sarakham years ago. My friend got more than friendly with a lady boy and she took us to she her family. The mother was so excited to see us but the lady boys father was totally devastated, he ran into a forest behind their house crying his eyes out. At the time I wished I wasn't there as I felt so sorry for him.
  6. " She" got her right wack if you excuse the pun.
  7. My step daughter has been given the Khyber Pass by all her family and friends all because she's bitten them for money to play the lottery. I'm probably one of the lucky ones as she owed me 85,000 baht for back rent. I even gave her a 50 % reduction, she never payed anything so I kicked her out. Others have claimed that she owes them a lot more than I've lost.
  8. It's a wonder that papa hasn't done a runner.
  9. Of course the drivers being Thais throw the plastic bags and foam food containers out of the window after they've eaten and leave the area in a real mess.
  10. Yai ( granny ) must've been throwing it around before her nest started forming.
  11. Tour buses have taken over the Wongamat area I counted 20 buses parked over night in 2 different sois. Red and white striped curbs and unbroken double lines are simply ignored. I see them every morning when I start my daily walk at 6 am.
  12. Before they have these ambitious brain farts they need to get the current problems fixed. I first hit Pattaya 25 years ago, it was a really fun place then but now it's the hub of money grabbing with little or no service.
  13. I take your point but if a Thai woman has most things she needs then why go to Pattaya, especially women in their mid 40's.
  14. Everyone has their own choice where they shop. I never drive my car when I go shopping in Pattaya unless I buy bulk beer or heavy items. In saying that I used to walk to the old Best Supermarket it was 15 minutes from my home. Now it's directly over the road, if you need a coffee or food there's a variety of shops over the road.
  15. I believe that us expats legally married to Thais should be treated much better, we've given our wives one thing that Thailand couldn't give them. A LIFE.
  16. From past experiences all Government offices have a different take on the law. My wife and I were shacked up for 12 months before were married. Prior to getting married she tried to change her name to mine at amphur Pak Thong Chai Korat and was refused. A close friend of mines' wife to be was refused in Bangkok. Also my sister inlaw tried the same thing in Pattaya and she was refused too. When all 3 ladies were legally married their name changes were legal.
  17. The same thing happened to me in Klong Sam Wah Bangkok and my step daughter and her bf were our witness's. My point was that many Thai women and farangs only have Buddhist weddings so these women can't change their name etc until their marriage is legalised.
  18. As there's no U turn at the top of North Road I find that Makro is a bit difficult to get to. Whilst Makros neat and veg is excellent, many of their packs are for business use.
  19. I've been using Best Supermarket for years, I've always been very satisfied with their shop in general. It's even better now as I do all my shopping on foot and I live a few minutes away. I think they let some of their stock run down prior to transferring to their new location. My experience tells me that any stock shortages will soon be fixed as they get settled in their new location.
  20. I'm sure Thai's decision will shock the World.
  21. I get several of those phone calls every day, if they speak Thai I just cut them off without speaking. If my wife calls me she always speaks English. Thai people never seem to realize that banks never talk business over the phone, if in doubt they should cut the phone call and go to their local branches. It took me ages to get this into my wifes head.
  22. My best friends parents were from the Ukraine, they did a runner around WW2 time and my friend was born in Germany. They emigrated to Australia in the early 50's. My friends mum was a lovely old lady who used to cry telling me what she went through as a young girl. Forced prostitution, torture and starvation where the main issues as she was brought up as a Roman Catholic.
  23. I had many holidays in Pattaya prior to getting married here, I never used a safe in a rented room. I kept my valuables to a minimum before I left my home. I always had enough pocket money to pay for a taxi to Pattaya. Next morning I planned my agenda and lived off my debit card. Seriously guys would you trust a total stranger with your valuables in your country? If you must use a safe then you might as well leave the door open.
  24. Many Thai country women never get married legally, they have a Buddhist wedding and they consider themselves married. In my case my Thai wife had a Buddhist marriage and her husband of 15 years died after a motor cycle accident. A woman having a Buddhist marriage can't change her name to her husbands family name. If the marriage take place in an amphur office such as mine did then the woman can change her name.
  25. The main reason I think this is total rubbish, is who in their right mind would make this public.
