Thailand's Tourism Faces 'Zero-Dollar' Tour Crisis
Mason45 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Tour buses have taken over the Wongamat area I counted 20 buses parked over night in 2 different sois. Red and white striped curbs and unbroken double lines are simply ignored. I see them every morning when I start my daily walk at 6 am. -
Pattaya to become Southeast Asia’s premier destination
Mason45 replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
Before they have these ambitious brain farts they need to get the current problems fixed. I first hit Pattaya 25 years ago, it was a really fun place then but now it's the hub of money grabbing with little or no service.- 164 replies

Big Thailand visa changes from June 1
Mason45 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I take your point but if a Thai woman has most things she needs then why go to Pattaya, especially women in their mid 40's. -
Everyone has their own choice where they shop. I never drive my car when I go shopping in Pattaya unless I buy bulk beer or heavy items. In saying that I used to walk to the old Best Supermarket it was 15 minutes from my home. Now it's directly over the road, if you need a coffee or food there's a variety of shops over the road.

Big Thailand visa changes from June 1

I believe that us expats legally married to Thais should be treated much better, we've given our wives one thing that Thailand couldn't give them. A LIFE. -
Malaysian Polygamists Getting Married in Thailand
Mason45 replied to snoop1130's topic in Southern Thailand News
From past experiences all Government offices have a different take on the law. My wife and I were shacked up for 12 months before were married. Prior to getting married she tried to change her name to mine at amphur Pak Thong Chai Korat and was refused. A close friend of mines' wife to be was refused in Bangkok. Also my sister inlaw tried the same thing in Pattaya and she was refused too. When all 3 ladies were legally married their name changes were legal. -

The same thing happened to me in Klong Sam Wah Bangkok and my step daughter and her bf were our witness's. My point was that many Thai women and farangs only have Buddhist weddings so these women can't change their name etc until their marriage is legalised. -
As there's no U turn at the top of North Road I find that Makro is a bit difficult to get to. Whilst Makros neat and veg is excellent, many of their packs are for business use.

I've been using Best Supermarket for years, I've always been very satisfied with their shop in general. It's even better now as I do all my shopping on foot and I live a few minutes away. I think they let some of their stock run down prior to transferring to their new location. My experience tells me that any stock shortages will soon be fixed as they get settled in their new location.

Pig Butchering in Thailand (Crypto)

I get several of those phone calls every day, if they speak Thai I just cut them off without speaking. If my wife calls me she always speaks English. Thai people never seem to realize that banks never talk business over the phone, if in doubt they should cut the phone call and go to their local branches. It took me ages to get this into my wifes head. -

My best friends parents were from the Ukraine, they did a runner around WW2 time and my friend was born in Germany. They emigrated to Australia in the early 50's. My friends mum was a lovely old lady who used to cry telling me what she went through as a young girl. Forced prostitution, torture and starvation where the main issues as she was brought up as a Roman Catholic. -
Canadian Tourist Robbed During Night in Pattaya Hotel
Mason45 replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
I had many holidays in Pattaya prior to getting married here, I never used a safe in a rented room. I kept my valuables to a minimum before I left my home. I always had enough pocket money to pay for a taxi to Pattaya. Next morning I planned my agenda and lived off my debit card. Seriously guys would you trust a total stranger with your valuables in your country? If you must use a safe then you might as well leave the door open. -
Malaysian Polygamists Getting Married in Thailand
Mason45 replied to snoop1130's topic in Southern Thailand News
Many Thai country women never get married legally, they have a Buddhist wedding and they consider themselves married. In my case my Thai wife had a Buddhist marriage and her husband of 15 years died after a motor cycle accident. A woman having a Buddhist marriage can't change her name to her husbands family name. If the marriage take place in an amphur office such as mine did then the woman can change her name. -

The main reason I think this is total rubbish, is who in their right mind would make this public. -

I had several experiences with a few Ugandan women who were attending the University where I was a maintenance Plumber. I vividly remember that I could've done with a few more inches to satisfy them. They say pussies come in 2 sizes, big ones or whoppas. Believe me they were both whoppas. -

Pattaya is really no different to any other tourist destinations, you're safety is entirely in your hands. Minimize carrying large amounts of money and only wear limited jewellery such as a watch or in some cases a religious necklace. -

I can understand a guy in this situation, going back 25 years ago I told her in doors that as I pay for everything I do have most of the say. She wasn't very happy at the time so I told her it's my way or the highway. As years passed by she has realized that she can always go back to her former life. We get on much better now and her family are very welcome at my home for 3-4 day stays but certainly no cash advances.

Explosion strikes annual rocket festival in Roi Et: 30 injured
Mason45 replied to george's topic in Isaan News
All the fine upstanding youth of the area were pissed right off their heads and most were carrying necks of large beer bottles in their hip pickets. Obviously it pays to be armed in that area. A female friend of my wife stood shot gun in the mens toilet just to watch my back. Actually the brawl halted when some hero rode a motor cycle right into the middle of it. He was traveling at least 60-70 kms per hour. -

I went to a festival like this many years ago in Yasothon. A violent brawl broke a few hours before the rockets were supposed to be launched so the launching was called off. I've been around a lot more than most guys and I can tell you the carnage from the brawl was worse than the damage that rockets can do. There were bloodied bodies every where, one was obviously deceased. Again where were the dozen or so BIB's, in the whiskey tent of course. The officials called off the event, not the cops who probably didn't give a rats ass.- 63 replies
