  1. Songkran is the perfect time for the cultured people to get bombed and make complete dick heads of them selves. In most cases it's just showing off. So if people were to ignore them they would go away. There's nothing worse for a show off when they are totally ignored. I must admit in my bar hopping days there were ladies with their morals loosened by alcohol everywhere for the taking. The good old days.
  2. I was just talking about what time does water throwing start every morning in general.
  3. I need to go shopping at Tops and Friendship supermarkets. So I was wondering what's the best time to do this in the morning.to dodge the cultured people who delight in throwing water?
  4. I like the ones with nipples like 3/8th bolts
  5. Every punch was a cheap shot and it's obvious these cowards can't fight. It's a bit hard to defend yourself when they are coming at you in all directions. If one of them took a decent shot to the mouth the rest would have run away like mongrel dogs. The Indian guy was stupid too, in that never get into a confrontation with Thais as the cavalry will be there in no time.
  6. I seen a documentary a few years ago where the Dalai Lama was being interviewed. He answered every question until he was asked about his take on Thai Buddhism. He hesitated and then replied " next question please. "
  7. Have you ever lived with a Thai family in a village where farangs don't exist?
  8. So I've just gone from feeling superior to feeling special in a few minutes. I'm very open, I don't need to hide behind a smoke screen because I'm responsible for my actions. Is that feeling superior or special?
  9. I have self discipline which most Thais don't have. I'm not talking bad about Buddhism, I'm referring to Thais that don't practice the rules that are in line with Buddhist teachings. It's very similar to the devout Catholics in the Calabria Italy area who are mafia lords who hide behind the religious smoke screen.
  10. But it doesn't deter them from making the headlines in the media for all the wrong reasons which is not in line with Buddhist teachings. I have no religion thankfully and I wouldn't dream of doing what many devout Buddhists get up to.
  11. After being married to a Thai for the past 24 years I was wondering how many Thais consider themselves as devout Buddhists. Given the crime rate, corruption, scams. telling lies and adultery there can't be all that many true believers who live by the rules. Even the monks can get off the rails from time to time and they are sworn to celibacy.
  12. Where's John Wayne when he's needed?
  13. I've participated in 2 Songkrans many years ago, that was enough for me. I'm bunkered down in my condo with one weeks supply of food, booze and and I'm more than happy having a break from the cultured load of bs.
  14. I don't have a problem with people farting but when follow through I find that offensive.
  15. The current Songkran festivals have nothing to do with Thai culture. It's about time they clamped down and made Songkran for one day with real Thai cultures. My Songkran is with my wifes family and friends. The water throwing is moderate and the people are all happy.
  16. I cop it all day when I'm in my condo. Thai women having a full on chat and they are sometimes 5-6 rooms apart. Thankfully my step daughter is taking over my wife's shop and we are heading back to our house in outer East Bangkok 38 kms from the city centre. The people in my estate are mainly Thai Chinese and they know how to behave not like that Isarn trash currently in Pattaya. My wife is from the sticks in Pak Thong Chai Korat. So I've seen this type of behavior before when visiting the relatives.
  17. In recent years I get a very sore throat and headache when I drink coffee. I used to enjoy a cup off coffee first thing every morning. I've tried all different brands but the results are the same. I've never drank more than 3-4 cups of coffee over a 24 hour period. Tea gives me much the same problem. I've even tried decaf and that's no better. Has anyone had this problem and if so what brand coffee made coffee drinking bearable.
  18. And not paying the normal fee to the fearless guardians of our family orientated sea side resort.
  19. I gave that s**t away years ago, now our Songkran is with my wifes family at my house, and that's strictly by invitation only.
  20. Good try papa, you're looking at a grievous bodily harm or even an attempted murder charge
  21. This is probably the only lottery that Thai mums want their sons to lose. I did 2 years national service in Australia, discipline was taught the right way, not some senior officers bum boy. The main thing I was taught was to drink hard and play hard. That was 60 years ago, now what I used to do all night takes me all night to do now.
  22. It seems like it was good s**t. S**t being the operative word.
  23. I've said this repeatedly to all my friends when they first hit Thailand. Most arrive as tourists and then become expats. If you keep on living the life a of a tourist your health and wealth will decrease dramatically.
