  1. Like America using Australia as its neuclear waste dump.
  2. I've seen several suggestions but are there any similar programs like Skype where I don't have to pay a monthly fee. I only use it to call my family overseas, banks and others that place me on hold for a long time so Skype was perfect. My sister being an oldie doesen't have wifi on her phone so I can't call her using Messenger..
  3. I was just reading an article which stated that Skype is not completely closing down. The business department is closing down but personal use will remain unchanged.
  4. Hi there, I'm 80 yo and going ok but my weight has spiralled out of control over the past 3-4 months. I eat very basic food, all steamed, no fat, sugar or salt. I walk 90 minutes daily at 6.30 am. Over the past year I've restricted my drinking to 2 large beers per day. At breakfast I eat one slice of sourdough bread, maybe a boiled egg, tomato and letteuce. For lunch I eat skinned roast chicken and vegetables, steamed or salad. I don't eat dinner but I eat a banana and sugar free yoghurt one hour before going to bed. What's my next step tape up my mouth?
  5. Actually before I bought my first car here we used go all over Thailand by train, much safer than night buses. Alcohol and food were freely available purchased from the vendors who used to work between stations sometimes 100 kms apart.
  6. Did the Governmement legalise weed or did go Anutin go ahead and approve it himself?
  7. If they cut out all free visas they would get some idea the type of people about to enter Thailand> some of the visa applications would be refused before they arrived here,
  8. Thats a very good idea but why not cut all free visas. Do they really believe that the trouble makers will behave themselves by changing the law. While they're at it all entertainment establishments should close down by midnight. How man assualts and traffic deaths occur between midnight and 4 am?
  9. The Thai man obviously isn't a local as the cavalry would've arrived. Would there be any video evidence if the tourist had've got bash senseless?
  10. How do you know when you're to old for Pattaya? There's a simple answer, it's when what you used to do all night now.takes you all night to do now.
  11. I've been living in Pattaya for the past 24 years. When I'm asked by friends if Pattaya is a good place to retire to I respond like this. Pattaya is made up of expats and tourists. A person must decide which category they come under. Expats 60 yo plus must be careful to live like expats, that is the way they live their normal life. If these same expats live like tourist they will either run out of money or fall off the perch. Many expats have fallen for this trap and died prematurely.
  12. Maybe it's because the US likes to stick their noses in other countries business and do a fast retreat when the kitchen gets to hot. As I now live in Thailand I've been to Laos and Vietnam several times and just the mention of the USA gets them rather angry.
  13. I would prefer something similar to Skype as I only use it 3-4 times a year so I don't want to pay for a plan.
  14. Hit there, One month ago I decided to change to Tiger beer. Since then my weight has shot up by 5 kg's. As I'm 80 yo now I don't go to bars any more. Instead I've been drinking 2 large bottles of Tiger beer at home every evening. I walk 2 hours every morning and eat very basic steamed food but my weight appears to be out of control.
  15. If I was re incarnated I'd like to come back as a Thai bar girls motor cycle seat.
  16. Hi there, I buy certain things from Lazada when needed and generally I find the service good. The problem I have is that when I log in I'm asked for my account validation by SMS. This doesn't work because I don't recognize the phone number shown. Consequently I can't validate my account or change my validation phone number to the correct one.
  17. My UK brother in law once told me many of these types are former football hooligans and they get bombed on Thai whisky and forget their age and the fact that the mob they used hang with isn't there.
  18. I just came across a site that appears similar to Skype by the name of Yolla. I typed in my Thai phone number and I received an activation code. Australia is one of the many countries that you can call. I haven't tried it yet but the call rates appear to be very competitive.
  19. I've been using Skype for years, it was very handy and affordable to ring family, friends and banks in Australia. I've tried others but I must reside in Australia when the application is made. They even detected that I was using a VPN. So what now? Any affordable suggestion to call land lines in Australia?
  20. Size is very important in Thailand, the size of your money and assets.
  21. That would make a great doco, BONKING ON THE BEACH and give them something to talk about.
  22. Did Thai people pay entirely for the wat over the road from Fascino in Pattaya South Road. I think farangs via bar girls have been the major contributors over the years.
  23. Where do I stand? I have 2 brother inlaws both are monks, reformed lao kaow alcoholics. They both reside at the same wat in a rural part of Korat. When I visit them I take them around in my car. If it's the wrong thing to do I don't care because after being married to my wife for 24 years I class both monks as personal friends. When we meet at the annual wat festival I shake their hands and put my arms around them. What people think is up to them, I say there's plenty of Thais I know that live in glass houses. Even most wat managent groups are on the take big time.
