Meanwhile in Pattaya NOTHING.  Four elderly farangs drove to Bang Sue.  Only one got through the screening process as he was over 75.

A number of my friends resident in Pattaya have confirmed appointments at MedPark for next week, and are travelling up together.
Likewise I made an appointment for this week and travelled up from Hua Hin to receive my jab, I'm not over 75.
That said, I'm led to believe that Bangkok vaccination points may now be restricting the service to Bangkok resident only, though I haven't seen anything official to confirm that.

But my understanding has always been that UK visa applicants are not supposed to book any flights before the outcome of their applications is known. This is in complete contrast to applications for Schengen visas where confirmed flight bookings are a prerequisite.

It’s actually a recommendation from the UKVI advising that non refundable or fully flexible flights shouldn’t be purchased before the visa is issued.

The requirements for Schengen are similar though some Consulates impose their own tougher interpretation.

I didn't contradict your statement, I only pointed out a fact.

I might also point out that a 'Select Committee', has nothing to do with petitions.

    Petitions Committee

    Commons Select Committee

The Petitions Committee considers e-petitions submitted on Parliament’s petitions website and public (paper) petitions presented to the House of Commons, engaging the public directly with the work of the House.

Petitions never get debated in the house of commons.  They are normally debated in another chamber within the parliament building by those who wish to attend. The outcome is never been put to parliament.

I said they can be debated in Parliament, I never mentioned the House of Commons.

Select Committees in both houses are part of Parliament, they can demand evidence from and make recommendations to the Government, the Goverment must respond.

  5. Upnotover is correct, your daughter must leave the UK on or before the expiry date printed on her visa.

She may have a problem flying to the UK if her return ticket is after he visa expires, if she reached the UK Border, she could also have a problem if the Border Force Officer picked it up, which they should.

Whilst overstaying for less than 30 days wouldn't incur a ban on re-entering, it could well be an issue in a future application, the circumstances you describe probably wouldn't be regarded as a valid reason for overstaying.

I assume that they wll leave Thailand with the Thai passport and enter the UK with the UK passport. Then leave the UK with the UK passport and enter Thailand with the Thai passport. They won't be refused entry to the UK as they're UK citizens. Just check if you will all have to go into quarantine because you will have come from Thailand. I don't know.

At this time Thailand is an Amber Country so, unless they travel via the UAE or another red country, hotel quarantine is not required, but self isolation at the destination address is.

I am still within the 15 year limit, so I can still vote. I have a relative who sends a postal proxy for me. Every year, I jump through their hoops and fill in their 9 page document to stay registered. However, as far as I know, I have never successfully voted. Electoral services mess it up every time.

I on the other hand get an email from my old council every year asking if there is any change in my circumstances and do I want to continue with my proxy, a simple yes or no response is all that is required.

My proxy vote is delivered to a friend for every election or vote and, save for the fact that my vote wasn't sufficicient to stop us crashing out of the EU, it's worked seamlessly and without a hitch.

  8. I suppose the travel forum might have been more appropriate, but as people travelling to the UK often read this forum let's leave it here.

We were considering travelling to the UK about now, but didn't go ahead with the trip as we read about similar issues from numerous other travellers.

You could be forgiven for wondering if some of these contractors had a direct line to those carrying out the procurement of these services, I'm of course not alleging anything.

That's what they are offering here in Hua Hin. The problem now is that Since 9 July the Que is at around 3200 and has not moved as of last night? I'm at 10,900+ .

I guess they just are not getting any vaccine here?

They seem to update the list over the weekend, the current list was posted on Saturday 17th for vaccinating yesterday (20th) and goes up to 7396.

    1. Do the local councils not have email? or the Embassy? And why would the form have to come from each voters individual councils. One generic form covers all and the voter fills in the name of the ward / constituency he is registered in for voting.

I don’t know about your ballot papers, but mine always have the candidates for election printed on them.

So if your suggested system was implemented and the individual constituencies or wards didn’t send out the ballot papers, how would you expect the voter to know the names of the candidates on this generic form?
