I think you are making it sound sound rather dramatic. It is pretty obvious that prices increase over time.
”Slower service” remains to be seen. The same processing times were quoted previously - it is just that the Bangkok embassy was swift with the straight forward applications.
It is unreasonable to judge the processing times at this early transitional stage, it appears to be settling down and we are seeing decisions within 15 days. That is perfectly acceptable and anyone should be able to plan within that.
Which country is in terminal decline?
My wife's first and only application was via India. Application date to passport in the hand, with visa attached, 13 working days. Is that slower than before? It is certainly within the time frame promised.

Thanks, Michael..............good start, tho' I am still confused as to who has jurisdiction, as I am not "in the city" of Buriram, I am in nearby Muang district, hence I have to assume that the City would not be involved, the Provincial Administrative District would be. However, a visit to one or the other will probably lead me in the correct direction. thanks for your response and assistance.
If you are in "Muang" district then you are classified as being in the "City" The word "Muang" means just that.
You will need to find out what Sub District (Tambon) you are in and contact them. They will have jurisdiction on this matter.

So you did the scan QR code and let the phone and camera whistle/chirp at each other thing,
and it worked ( didn't work for me.. on my generic Chinese camera)
I would be a little bit worried about who can now see/use the camera + how long the company will keep its DDNS going...however vstarcam http://www.vstarcam.com seem to have been around for a while.
Yes. Did all of that. Very simple. The cameras are all password protected.
-
I went with Vstarcams and the eye4 app, thanks sammieuk1
Very simple. Connect to cameras to wifi using the app on phone and that was it. Checked connections between cams and phone at many other locations and perfect.

I hope this bunch of incompetents have had the obligatory scanning training. <removed>
I only have one experience of Uk visa applications and I have no complaints. The service was good. My wife was in and out in about 40 minutes. All done, processed and returned to our home address within the 15 working days time frame.

Alfred actually takes a different tack...
By now many try to get their wifi IP cameras up, and then cop the stumbling block; that a subscription 'will' be required, no choice, to be able to access their images over the web (for when you are not actually at home)
Alfred on the other hand, for camras, uses your no longer wanted wifi enabled smart phones (if used on wifi, a SIM is not required at all)
You won't have any of those IPCam problems, that arise regarding ip addresses etc etc blah blah blah kikyat bababor carn, amongst other frustration uttering words...
Alfred and Presence are at the top of easy to use, free Apps.
Presence however only gives you a free 50mb of cloud storage, requiring subs to gain access to some Gbs of space
Alfred on the hand is also a free App, but offers much better services in the Free option.
For example, you will get a full 7days carte blanc, of cloud storage, FIFO
which then expands to a carte blanc 30 days clod storage on subscription; also adding HD. Cloud visions stored can also be individually Downloaded.
Both the Apps give you Motion Detection, Low Light enhancement, and two way audio, as in a PTT method of speaking back thru to the camera phone, from your viewer phone (or PC)
Alfred can also be set up to self ReStart, if you have a camera phone that for some reason stops and reboots.
Thank you for your help but I don't think this will work for us. Using unwanted phones is not possible. We need 3 or 4 view points. Facilitating that with phones could not be done.

Alfred is my pick!
Thanks. So does that hook up to any camera with wifi? Is it as simple as: plug in camera, connect to wifi, download app and watch?

Help needed please.
I am looking at a simple system for my home. 3 cameras and an app to view live from anywhere on a phone. I don't want to have a server. Just a plug and play system that picks up Wifi.
Thanks for any info.

Applications from that time (20+days) seem to be the ones being held up (at least the two mentioned on here are). About the same time they would have felt the initial impact of the new scanning procedure.
Those that were submitted just after that time seem to be making good time. 11 days has been mentioned.

To your left, in the first photo, is the entrance to the Avalon.
That last photo is the side view of the Avalon Hotel.

We asked the driver for Avalon, we came to Aura. He said it's the same. Our reservations for Avalon were on the computer here at Aura. Our receipt says Avalon B & B Vientiane and the Coffee @ Avalon restaurant is next door. It's near the bus station, where Google Maps shows Avalon Residence.
Anyway, if there are two separate hotels, Avalon and Aura, in S'khet, and if I'm at Aura, I'm curious as to where Avalon is.
They are next door to each other. That one building is two hotels. Aura on the left and Avalon on the right.

I'm in the Avalon (aka Aura) Residence now.
Yesterday, I went to the consulate at 8 and was first in line when it opened an hour later.
I presented my passport and application and marriage cert. and KR form, plus copies of the application, KR, marriage cert., passport title page, Lao visa and entry stamp, wife's ID and house book, and 5000 baht. The original marriage cert and KR, and my departure card, were returned to me.
Aura has a nice little coffee shop with local and western food. There is also a more stylish place at twice the price. The set breakfasts are nice. It's walking distance from the bus station and a convenience store.
We had flown Air Asia from DMK to Nakhon Panom, which I suspect is the basis for Crutch's "Nakhon Nowhere." The Air Asia van took less than two hours to reach the bridge at Mukdahan.
I had a Lao visa from Bangkok and this seemed to surprise immigration on both sides.
The shuttle bus waited on the Lao side and went past the consulate en route to the bus station.
Rather than allow a large factor and risk a long wait in the sun &/or rain for the return bus to an airport, we'll spend an extra night in Mukdahan. Nok Air picks up at Ploy Palace so we'll stay there.
We'll fly Nok out of Ubon.
The Avalon and Aura are actually two different hotels.

Today is the 12th working day since application. Just checked EMS tracker and passport is on the way. Still don't know if the application was successful.
Is there any time difference between "YES" and "NO" applications?

Thanks.

Wow, did you opt for a fast-track service?
I applied 28/06 for a visit visa. Called them, emailed them, no interviews, no word...
No. Ordinary application using bronze service to ensure the passport is mailed to us. This is the first we have heard from them. No phone calls and no EMS.
-
Application date 11th July. Email received today stating processed application received at VFS on 26th July. Passport on it's way by EMS. This is my wife's first ever application.

I know expats like that too, but the fact remains that most using this visa do so to circumvent the income requirements. Virtually every post asking for info on getting an ME visa from Savannahket wants conformation that finances are not required.
It’s the correct visa for how you want it to be, not how the Thai visa system or immigration look at it.
First you disbelieved the OP now you disbelieve the rules of immigration. How strange.

They are not living continuously for 365 days. They are leaving every 90 days. That is the law. Nothing wrong with it. Nobody is ignoring anything.

Yeah. Your comment will upset some, but in all fairness, and I say this as an user of repeated SETVs, I subscribe to the logic.
A visa run is a visa run, no matter what type of multiple entry visa you are on. Some should better understand the logic of multiple entry visas as opposed to extensions of stay, even though Immigration is ignoring the matter at most borders.
What matter are immigration ignoring?

23 minutes ago, elviajero said:ME non 'O' visas, within the visa system, are meant for people living outside of Thailand that need/want to visit frequently. Anyone staying long term, without a long term visa, should apply for an extension of stay. Almost all those that use ME visas are doing so because they can't meet the financial requirement.
I know of expats who use these visas out of convenience. Some of them live in the catchment of a particularly bad immigration office. Others prefer to cross borders rather that have the hassle of having to obtain an income letter, as some immigration offices now insist on having them certified.
Also some that just prefer to cross the border and use the excuse to go shopping at the numerous border markets.
It is a correct visa, regardless of how you look at it.
