The soi from Sukhumvit is blocked at the end to cars, probably best to go in the side entrance. As you can see head north on the Bang Na Trat lower road and turn left after the swampy home pro and u turn after the entrance.

cut off the bread and rice and sweet things on you have won half the war......
The rice is a tough one, and noodles, any suggestions as to what I can substitute seeing as you get rice and or noodles with just about any meal.
Bread.
I cut out rice for about a month and lost 4 kg a few months ago.
I've put one back on though as it's so hard to avoid rice here. Oh and finding those big bags of salt and vinegar crisps. As I can cook at home I do potatoes but soon get bored and too lazy/hot to cook and end up eating street or mall food with...... rice.
There are western salads being sold here, but you may find they give accelerated weight loss due to not being washed. Noodle dishes, egg or bean noodles, something like Yaam Bplah duk foo (deep fried catfish on mango or lemon grass in a sweet sauce). Som Tam.

heh, no worries, as long as people are smiling I don't mind if its at my expense.
I don't think its a smell issue as I am pretty finicky about the way I smell and always ALWAYS carry a good cologne in my rucksack wherever I go.
I just assume that like a lot of western girls, Thais are no different to being intolerant of a tubby guy.
Which is fine because I definitely needed to lose a few pounds anyway (have lost nearly 10 pounds since arriving in BKK a month ago)
No offence fella, but all smokers smell, they just don't know it. Adding smelly stuff doesn't make the smell go away the smoker just smells like they are doing the walk of shame.
The feeding thing just sounds like she feels the need to 'service' you in some way or maybe trying to lighten the mood.

6 am in the morning. Guess you are never safe !!!!!
I used to go cycling at 5.30 to finish by 7am to avoid the start of rush hour and the day long drunks, on the sea bridge in Chonburi, but most times there was people still drinking from the night before and just getting in their cars or on their motorbikes and going home while I was still cycling.
Most times you had to dodge drunk motorbike/food stall vendors who had been out all night drinking.
Then of course there are the times you have to pull off the road before the swerving pick up, fortuner or 20 year old Mercedes gets to you.
Don't ever go cycling on a Sunday as they are more plastered than every other day.

Thailand is much more expensive than it used to be. The overall numbers are down, but it does seem there are more people in employment and owning businesses away from tourist areas here.
The old type of ex-pat here are now getting what they came for in South America, Phillipines, Cambodia, Eastern Europe etc....... it's all the Japanese fault.
Thailand has become over priced for what it offers for them and most other ex-pats.
As said it does seem more ex-pats you meet here are employed and or with families.
The ex-pat night owl numbers in tourist towns and in lower Sukhumvit seem to be down massively.
And yes the tourist numbers will continue to decline for several reasons, but yes because of the Chinese tourists making every tourist attraction unbearable and no they aren't comparable to other previous tourist groups as the other tourists didn't come in groups of hundreds treating anybody else as if they don't exist.

You can report by post,just copies of passport,or now I believe
on line, never done it that way yet but there have been reports
it can be done, the fine for failure to report is 500 THB per day
