RT is a bit more extreme. CNN is occasionally critical of the WhiteHouse and Biden. RT is never, ever critical of the Kremlin and Putin. No doubt Russia spends a fortune on Kompromat, hacking, disinformation, and other foul enterprises, including government sponsored trans national crime. That govt. is beyond filthy. So is Putin. One thing we all just kind of assumed about Putin, was that he was smart. In addition to being fabulously corrupt, and a serial killing thug. Now we know. He is NOT smart. Not even close. Putin is dumb and dumber. If he were playing chess, a talented 5 year old would kick his butt. May he go down in flames.

Best Way To Maintain A Healthy Sex Life As You Age?
spidermike007 replied to SoCal1990's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
There are all types of relationships. Many are outstanding, and offer alot of fulfillment, but after a decade or more, the sex is just not a big deal anymore. Some of us are bent, and the familiarity is just not a turn on. So, an occasional short time with a young beauty is a nice fix. -
We became a nation of self entitled, spoiled brats. Try to find Americans to do these jobs. That is a fantasy. It is simply a far right meme, at this point. And the politicians who are using the issue, are so wealthy they don't have a clue. It is more urgent to fix the legal immigration system, which is severely broken.

Best Way To Maintain A Healthy Sex Life As You Age?
spidermike007 replied to SoCal1990's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Just keep having fun, if you still have a strong libido keep enjoying sex. If your wife or GF is into it great, if she's not then get it on the side. But, only short time, and with a high level of discretion. No affairs. No mistresses. No communication with lovers online. Whatever it takes to keep things fun, keep things light, and get by and have some pleasure. -
Why you have a very rosy and optimistic view of things, which is admirable, I on the other hand consider all politicians, all ministers in the government, all top army officials, all senators, and all police to be corrupt until proven innocent.

One of the questions that comes to mind is what kind of enforcement are they going to be using? Is proof of payment of taxes going to become a prerequisite for renewing an annual visa? Are we going to have to show tax information to continue using our bank accounts? What methods can we imagine they will use to enforce the new tax laws? I assume it will not simply be the honor system.

Trump Backs Elon Musk's Plan to Slash Government Spending
spidermike007 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
The ideas that you express are very good, and would indeed be very productive if they were put into practice. But we've seen with four years of the Trump presidency that he's very good at talking, and very poor at acting, or it's getting legislation passed. And he's very poor at fulfilling promises, we call this the very definition of an empty suit. -
I will start by saying that I am a Jew, and I am very opposed to a great deal of Israeli policy, including the rather extremist manner in which they've dealt with this recent Gaza War. Having said that, I think you're being a bit ridiculous by calling the Holocaust anything but what it is. If it's a "so-called Holocaust" what would you call it, and how would you describe it? Did the Nazis accidentally kill 6 million Jews and Gypsies, or did they as Cooper said, let them die only because they couldn't deal with them? You need to explain yourself, if you want to post such lies, or you just simply need to stop posting. Do you also believe the earth is flat, and the moon landing was faked? Who are you anyway?

One of the main cases for internet censorship is that it protects children from accessing harmful and inappropriate information, such as footage of real murders or terrorist decapitations. Internet censorship offers a means of limiting the number of harmful videos or other forms of offensive content that people, including your children, have access to. In simple terms, internet censorship provides a tool to limit access or even block access to content that can cause irreparable harm. Proponents of censorship also argue that it restricts the chances for predators to easily find targets. But while internet censorship regulations have lofty goals, dangerous people often find ways to defeat even the most well-meaning laws. Harassment and cyberbullying are serious problems online today. Among the many internet censorship pros and cons is a limit on content that could be offensive, aggressive or threatening toward others. Censorship can counteract the anonymity that fuels cyberbullying and harassment. This is especially true on websites made for children and teens, as well as minority groups who may be disproportionately targeted by online harassment. Censorship can help everyone use the internet without being personally attacked or insulted by others. Censorship isn’t always about preventing people from sharing their unfiltered opinions. Among the many pros and cons of internet censorship is the practical benefit of limiting the spread of sensitive information. For instance, a scammer might try to trick someone into posting their social security number online, but the website’s censorship algorithm stops the post from going live. Situations like this are increasingly common today. Shall I go on? You have obviously not devoted much thought to this.

Why is Trump Really Running for Office Again?

Likely to avoid jail time. He is a career criminal, and it is finally catching up to him. He should have been convicted 89 times, decades ago.- 236 replies

The border wall was a talking point for Trump, but a huge boondoggle for the American people. It was another of his giant scams, to enrich Trump's friends and those who supported his campaign. One contract obtained by a Montana company shows how the awards can grow to several times their original size. In May 2019, BFBC LLC, a subsidiary of Barnard Construction, won a $142 million contract just a few days after it learned it was one of 12 construction firms selected by the Corps. Then, in April, a week after Democratic members of Congress urged border wall funds be redirected to the then-exploding coronavirus pandemic, BFBC received its biggest contract modification to date: $569 million for 17 additional miles in San Diego and El Centro — or $33 million per mile. A Corps spokesperson told the Daily Beast it awarded the half-billion-dollar contract add-on without competitive bidding because the firm was already “mobilized and working in close proximity.” Congressional Democrats called on the GAO to investigate what Sen. Jack Reed, a Rhode Island Democrat, called a “no-bid contract to an apparently politically connected, private contractor” as part of the federal watchdog’s broader review of Corps contracts. Campaign finance reports show BFBC’s owner is a longtime GOP donor who has given nearly $200,000 since 2017 to Republican causes and candidates, including to those in his home state of Montana as well as Texas and Arizona. Company officials could not be reached for comment. https://www.texastribune.org/2020/10/27/border-wall-texas-cost-rising-trump/

Corporations have demanded illegal immigrants for decades now. They need the labor, and the system does not allow enough legal immigrant labor. Without illegal immigrants, the US economy would shut down over night. Pretending otherwise, is just disingenuous and a political meme. This discourse has been dumbed down, and weaponized by the right. Americans generally agree that immigrants – whether undocumented or living legally in the country – mostly do not work in jobs that U.S. citizens want, with a majority saying so across racial and ethnic groups and among both political parties. This is particularly true when it comes to undocumented immigrants. About three-quarters of adults (77%) say undocumented immigrants mostly fill jobs U.S. citizens do not want, while 21% say undocumented immigrants fill jobs U.S. citizens would like to have, according to a Pew Research Center survey conducted April 29 to May 5. Differences also exist by educational attainment. Large shares of U.S. adults with a postgraduate degree (88%) and those with a bachelor’s degree (84%) say undocumented immigrants mostly fill jobs U.S. citizens do not want, compared with 78% of those with some college experience and 69% of those with a high school diploma or less. https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2020/06/10/a-majority-of-americans-say-immigrants-mostly-fill-jobs-u-s-citizens-do-not-want/

He doesn't. He is dead weight. Voters across the nation seem less passionate about Vance as a vice president candidate. Polling from NPR, PBS and Marist College found that Vance has a 33 percent disapproval rating – a drop from 28 percent when he was first made Trump’s running mate. FiveThirtyEight, which compiles polling from across the nation and creates an average, puts Vance at a 40.6 percent unfavorable rating, Walz will present his Republican counterpart, JD Vance, with a gratifyingly large problem.

I assume you are calling them criminals due to their illegal immigration status? A rather narrow minded and simplistic view. There are dozens of reasons why people emigrate, and many illegals contribute to the US economy in a very positive manner. Substantial research has assessed the relationship between immigration and crime. Numerous studies show that immigration is not linked to higher levels of crime, but rather the opposite. Studies have also examined the impact of the concentration of immigrants in a community on crime patterns, finding that immigration is associated with lower crime rates and an increase in structural factors — such as social connection and economic opportunity — that are linked to neighborhood safety. https://www.brennancenter.org/our-work/analysis-opinion/debunking-myth-migrant-crime-wave?gad_source=1&ms=gad_illegal immigrant crime_700983500566_8628877148_163578260112

That is what Musk would have you believe. His motivations are rarely altruistic. Regardless of Musk’s motivations, the political impact of his actions in Brazil has been immediate and explosive: Those worried about the “tyranny” of the judges (i.e., the Bolsonaro side), greeted his move as if he was saving the country from oppression. Those on the opposite aisle (i.e., the government) see an unacceptable attack on Brazil’s sovereignty and proof that social media needs to be heavily regulated. And one immediate upshot is that attempts to build a modern legal framework for tech platforms will continue to be postponed in a congress that now has another reason to disagree over a fiendishly complex topic. That’s why Musk was wrong to pick this fight: speaking lightly about a country he knows only superficially and attacking a judge whose surname he can’t even pronounce properly have all been a disservice to Brazil that will only amplify polarization and political discord. If Brazil is not for beginners, Brazilian politics is only for the truly gifted. (Incidentally, would Musk dare to bash a US Supreme Court judge using the same tone he used against Justice de Moraes knowing that he won’t be protected by being in a different jurisdiction?) https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2024-04-10/elon-musk-picked-the-wrong-fight-in-brazil

Very well stated. Thanks for that. I couldn't agree more. Vance is as close as you could come to an empty suit, and dead weight as possible. Trump deserves him.

This hateful and racist candidate would say or do anything to demonize people who are not white and who are not wealthy. He is a filthy liar, and he is morally bankrupt, so he'll do anything to try to get elected. There are no boundaries to his degradation. Researchers at the Urban Institute estimate that only 5,000 to 6,000 such mortgages were issued last year. In contrast, over 3.4 million mortgages were granted to all homebuyers in 2023, according to federal data. So, he thinks one fifth of one percent is going to change things? Or is he just OK with telling his 47,000th lie?

Anyone but Trump. However his pic of JD Vance as VP was a wet dream for most Democrats, he's now running at a negative 6% in polling, and I think it's only going to get worse. The man is an empty suit, he has zero charisma, and very little to say. Picking him was a monumental mistake by Trump, and listening to anything that his offspring has to say is always going to backfire. They are all subpar intellects, just like he is. From the NY Post, a Murdoch owner paper, and a conservative one. It would appear they are losing faith in Don and Vance. A warning to Donald Trump and JD Vance: Tread carefully when it comes to women, including Vice President Kamala Harris. All signs point to a tight race in November, and the GOP ticket is already behind with women: In five battleground states, Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, Harris leads by 9 points or more with the ladies. Closing that gap may be an uphill battle. Even if Trump were ahead, it would be foolish to ignore the power of women voters: About 7.4 million more women than men were registered to vote in 2022, according to the Center for American Women in Politics, and more women than men have voted in every presidential election since 1964. Besides, the chance to vote for a woman who feels like a relative newcomer will almost certainly attract female voters who sat out other elections (or even some of those who pulled the lever for Trump in 2016 because they couldn’t stomach the alternative). Sure, there are plenty of women who want what Trump and Vance are selling: school choice, parental rights, a better economy, safer neighborhoods and a more secure border. But this is a different political landscape than 2016, and both Trump and Vance need to keep on the straight and narrow to avoid alienating female voters who might otherwise agree with them on policy. Maybe Trump should start by quitting hurling derogatory nicknames and ad hominem insults at his foes. He can ding Kamala on policy without making crass comments or veering into petty pot shots about her looks or gender that might make women balk. He and his running mate must certainly avoid missteps like the one Vance made in 2021, when he blasted “childless cat ladies” who run the country but are “miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made.” He also foolishly suggested penalizing women without kids with higher taxes. For real? Vance’s comments resurfaced recently and spread like wildfire on social media, drawing backlash from even conservative women. Trump and Vance need to reassure women that they take them seriously as a voting bloc, and they have no interest in pushing national policy that controls women’s decisions on family matters. The GOP ticket knows women will play a major role in deciding this election — perhaps they should start acting like it.

Trump Backs Elon Musk's Plan to Slash Government Spending
spidermike007 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
This is very rich coming from a man who raised the national deficit by $7 trillion. He would say or do anything at this point to get elected. His level of desperation is reaching epic and historic proportions. I am having so much fun watching him and Vance meltdown before our very eyes. And I'm sure much of his desperation is driven by the knowledge that he will very possibly be spending some time in prison, if he doesn't get elected. Lock him up.- 48 replies
