What happens remains to be seen. Harris no doubt established some momentum from her excellent debate performance, and Trump no doubt shot himself in the foot, yet again with his bizarre rambling about stir fried dogs and cats, the emd of Israel in 24 months, etc. The real question is will this make a difference? Trump supporters seem entrenched, and it doesn't matter what he says or what he does, they're not going anywhere. It would appear it's the undecided voters that are going to decide this election. Can Harris bring them over to her side in the remaining 7 weeks?

World’s best hotel: Bangkok’s Mandarin Oriental steals the show
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
I often times find myself laughing at these absolutely silly and ridiculous surveys. I can understand if they said best hotel in Bangkok, maybe. I might argue if they said best hotel in Thailand, but best hotel in the world? Are you kidding me, it's probably not even in the top 50 hotels in the world. -
I have to admit I have not had KFC in many years, but the last time I tried it with my Thai woman, we both agreed that it was the lowest quality fried chicken we had ever had, anywhere in the world, during the course of our entire lifetimes, so needless to say we've never gone back.

The upside to the marriage visa, is that only 400,000 is needed as a deposit, and it does not have to stay in the bank, once your visa is granted. The downsides are: The hurdles you need to jump over, in order to get a marriage visa are stupid, ridiculous, unnecessary, draconian, wasteful, and silly. I understand the need for them to verify that you are a legitimate couple. Upon the first application. But, the dumb requirements should not relate to renewals. You should not be required to show fresh images of the house each time, copies of the marriage papers, the house documents, either come with a local Thai witness, or bring a signed affidavit from a local Thai each time, provide new maps to the house, and dozens of other requirements. I just do not even know what to say about the process. I felt like a street dog by the time I left. After hours of paperwork, copy after copy after copy, each page having to be signed, and then being grilling by the surly officer, I literally felt like a street dog. The level of disrespect that immigration shows married couples here, is totally uncalled for, beyond the pale, and inane. The copy woman, the guy sorting our papers, they were all nice. But, the officers? Such sourpusses. The woman who was helping us was so difficult to work with, when she finally rejected us over the tiniest thing she did not like, after nearly an hour of reviewing every document with a microscope, so to speak, and said no, I responded by saying yes. YES, you are going to do this. Yes, you are going to do this right now. YES, you are going to stop saying NO to me right now. This ends now. She looked at me and did not know what to say. I asked for the manager. The top brass came over, and we had it sorted in 30 minutes. Took nearly 3 hours. And as usual, it will be a month, until I have final approval. Is it worth it? NO. It is my last marriage visa. I will go back to a retirement visa next year, or leave the country, before I subject myself to that abuse one more time. Frankly, I think at least some of this comes from the rather extreme level of xenophobia and the toxic racism of the army. It filters down throughout the government. I do not think they want us here. And making these procedures difficult is one way of expressing that. Fortunately, I feel very little of that sentiment from the non governmental Thai people. I use only the retirement visa now. I realize that part of the aggravation that I felt in regard to living in Thailand was due to having to deal with immigration and by switching to the retirement visa I was able to rid myself of a lot of that aggravation.

And one thing we know for sure is that that amount is a complete lie, and it's far higher. One thing that most people don't remember is that Dick Cheney had a special law passed by Congress that allowed them to conduct the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan completely off the books. So that's likely an additional 10 trillion dollars that needs to be added to that figure. And who knows what other things need to be added? The debt is at a ridiculous level at this point, and cannot be sustained.

Nothing short of the death penalty is appropriate in these sort of instances, and if the state is unwilling to impose it, well then there are other solutions. I don't even want to begin to hear about this being a cultural thing it doesn't matter what culture it is, it's a despicable act and it warrants extreme punishment. If a 12-year-old decides to fool around on her own that's on her, but for it to be imposed upon her is way over the line.

Phuket Named World’s Most Overcrowded Destination Amid Tourism Boom
spidermike007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
It sounds like you really do not have any idea what you're talking about, you've likely never been to Southwest Bali, and you're just quoting based on tourism arrival number, which don't mean much. Phuket and Bali are two completely different animals, in Bali the tourism is concentrated in a relatively small area in the southwest of the island, the rest of the island is fantastic and not crowded at all. So, it's the tourism area in Bali that I'm referring to. Unlike Phuket it has nothing to do with infrastructure, the infrastructure on Bali is quite good, it has everything to do with over development, massive traffic issues, and unbelievable numbers of Australian tourists. It's never taken me 2 hours to go two kilometers anywhere on Phuket, it has taken me that long on Bali. You don't know what traffic is until you've been to Southwest Bali. -

Wrong. Bali is infinitely more crowded and congested than Phuket. Traffic is like Manhattan at rush hour. It is a blight on the planet. -
GOP Urges Trump to Accept Second Debate with Harris

Phuket Recognized for Leading Anti-Corruption Efforts in Thailand
spidermike007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
It is a bit like saying this administration has achieved the award for competence. Or Justin Bieber has achieved an award for writing the most profound music. Or the army is the most righteous organization in the country. One can say anything. What does it mean? Such insincerity just reinforces what nearly everyone already thought. The White Space award. An appropriate name, indeed. -
Anutin Responds to Leaked Audio Clip: "It's an Old Issue"

I know I have a checkered and questionable history. I allied myself with horrific and highly toxic juntas, in my thirst for power. I made all sorts of errors. But, don't hold me responsible. That was the distant past, and it is not fair to use my history against me. Please, try to forget. -
GOP Urges Trump to Accept Second Debate with Harris
spidermike007 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
No reason for Harris to agree. Though, she would cream him again, if she did. He simply cannot handle a smart woman. Period. There were certainly some classic moments, nobody knew that populations of dogs were being stir fried, and cats were being served breaded, and devoured in the Midwest by hungry and unruly immigrant populations. I was also unaware of the fact that Putin invaded Ukraine because the US withdrew from Afghanistan and left a lot of equipment behind, that came as a surprise to me. I also thought it was $7 billion worth of equipment, but Trump insisted it was $85 billion. I also found the claim that Russia will exit Ukraine either right after Trump is elected or possibly even before he even takes office, rather impressive. I was also very surprised to learn that if Harris gets elected Israel will cease to exist as a state within 24 months. I was also shocked to learn that both Harris and her father are practicing Marxists. I was also shocked to hear Trump's claim of Biden creating the highest unemployment since the Great Depression, however I looked it up and it was actually Trump that had 14.8%. Granted, some of that was due to Covid. I was very surprised to hear that they had a baby execution system in place in Virginia, however I looked into it and found out it was a statement that the former Governor, who is a doctor, had made about a nonviable fetus which is born, and then rather than put it on a useless life support system, the parent decides to let it go. I guess I understand the confusion as Trump himself doesn't really know where he stands on abortion, and since not putting a baby on life support which is not going to live anyway would not be considered an abortion that even adds to his confusion. I had no idea that Harris wants to support transgender operations on illegal aliens that are in prison that was absolutely shocking news that an ever reliable and honest Trump delivered. It was very refreshing to hear that Trump still has the biggest rallies in the history of politics and that nobody ever leaves his rallies early out of boredom. I had no idea that the companies that Trump imposed tariffs on, while he was president, paid the actual tariff on products that were imported into the US. That came as a complete surprise to me, I thought it was the American consumers that were paying the whole time. And I also thought it contributed to inflation, and helped to start the current inflationary cycle. It was very surprising and alarming to hear that the immigrants that are coming into the US are coming directly from prisons and mental institutions. I had no idea that all these countries were emptying out their prisons and mental institutions and directing those people to travel to the US. I was shocked to hear that Harris was responsible for the January 6th attack on the capitol and that Nancy Pelosi did a poor job with security, so I had to look into it again, and I found out that the speaker of the house has no capacity when it comes to Capital Security, nor does she have any capacity to turn down a request for National guardsman. His debate performance was an embarrassment, even by the low standards one must apply to his minor, declining intellect. Stir fried dogs and cats? Israel will no longer exist 24 months after she takes office? I will end the war in Ukraine, possibly even before I take office. Dictators are wonderful. She baited him, and he swallowed hook, line and sinker. What a goon. What a fool. He not only lost the debate, he got bloodied, and knocked out cold, in the first 5 minutes. He was struggling for oxygen. He was flailing. He deserved to lose.- 85 replies

You know Trump and Vance are flailing when they use claims like this one, to bolster the accusation of stir fried dog and breaded cat in Ohio. Harris did a good job of baiting this goon, and not only did he swallow the bait, he ran with it like a obedient partner and spun like a carousel at an amusement park. That was a good one, Don.

Phuket Named World’s Most Overcrowded Destination Amid Tourism Boom
spidermike007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
Not true. Bali has owned that title for 25 years or longer. It took me 2 hours to travel 2 km. in Legian on a motorbike. And 90% of the trip was on the sidewalk. It is beyond a nightmare. The people who make this a claim do not know what overcrowded is. They don't have a clue. Bali is horrendous. At least the SW third of the island. Phuket is busy and spoiled. I was there late last year, and never need to go back. Far too many unfriendly, nasty Russians for my taste. But, busy is a relative term. -
I travel to the US two or three, sometimes as many as four times a year. Usually for about a month each time, it's very pleasant, a nice change of pace. I get to see my friends and family and do cultural things that are not available here. At the end of one month I'm so ready to come back. I have a retirement visa and I plan on keeping it, as it's multiple entry, and it's very easy to travel with.

The Ultimate Betrayal and the Enemy
spidermike007 replied to Chris Daley's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Always remember one very important fact. You are a man. You have as much control as you are able to establish. You set the agenda. Time is always your ally. Not hers. She is almost always going to be in a hurry to make things happen. And if she is willing to come and stay with a guy she has never met before, she has more than likely been working as a bar girl, in a special massage parlor, or as an escort or freelancer. Very few real "civilians" would move that fast, nor be that forward. Buyer beware. And be good to yourself. Be a man. Leave behind the Western ways of emasculation. Whether it's a Philippina or Thailand woman, they tend to be quite jealous, and it requires a man to push back and to establish boundaries very early on, to make her aware of the fact that I don't do jealousy, and if you're going to do jealousy around me this is not going to work. Time is your ally, not hers. So she will push the timetable, and you need to push back. Take your time. If it is good, it will only get better, if there are issues, it takes time to see them and for them to play out. If you are unwilling to communicate about issues we have, then we have no chance. Zero, so do you understand that? Is it worth it to you, to deal with this? Because your avoidance and silence is intolerable. Do you get that? So she needs to adapt or move on. Tell her, look, I don't really need you, I like being around you, if things work great, but if you make this difficult for me I'm going to move on. They need to see, hear and feel that kind of pushback early on. Never, ever say I love you within the first year or two. You are able to determine whether or not this is a woman who is worthy of your time, and whether or not this is a woman who is capable of being the kind of person that you want to be with. If not, move on. It's really that simple. -
Their leather quality is very good. Mine has held up well, is very soft and comfy, and looks great. I was a little bit hesitant with the leather as I thought it might be too hot, but that hasn't been an issue, and on the really hot days we have the AC on in the living room anyway. Are you too far to visit the factory? It is likely worth it. We did, and we were able to see the entire selection, they showed us the leather sheets in the factory, and were very helpful.

At moments it felt as if Harris was saying to Trump could you please prove to us that you're insane, there are still some people that do not doubt your sanity. I need you to act up and say some things to offer solid proof. And it was as if Trump said, okay I can do that, no problem, here I go. What can one say? Harris and the Dems could not have asked for a better result. Let's see what she can do with it now, let's see if the next few weeks show significant improvement in the polling.

Kamala Harris Highlights Her Gun Ownership in Debate with Trump
spidermike007 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
For millennium, men of great power and wealth have been able to take advantage of women who are attracted to great power and wealth. However, there's always a question of consentuality and that is likely where Trump stepped over the line on many occasions. It is just his nature to take advantage and use people, then throw them under the bus. That is just who and what he is. Yes he's powerful and yes he's wealthy, but he's also repulsive in appearance, he likely has tremendous body odor, and who would want to get naked with that man if they didn't absolutely have to? -
Kamala Harris Highlights Her Gun Ownership in Debate with Trump

That would be considered an act of selflessness, something that he never engages in, something he refuses to engage in.
