Can somebody please explain this to me..
spidermike007 replied to bob smith's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Personally I've always loved Mexico. I love the Mexican people, the culture, the food, and the land. However I don't love the security situation there, and I don't love having to always look over my shoulders, not to mention the fact that Mexico is fairly expensive. I spent some time in Mexico about 4 years ago, hoping to move there, and there were a half dozen reasons why I decided to stay here. I do miss the selection of very high quality, deep Pacific seafood, all of which is wild caught. The seafood blows away the best of Thailand. However, I am happy about that decision. I like everyday in Thailand. I wake up in the morning here and I'm very happy to be here. -
You are very conveniently forgetting the fact that Trump pushed congress to veto the bipartisan border bill, that had major support on the Republican side. That had nothing to do with border security, and it had everything to do with politics and reelection. That was a grossly shameful act.

If Trump and Vance went home, locked themselves up, and did not say anything, or appear again until the election, they would have a better chance of winning. Otherwise, they shoot themselves in the foot daily, as they are both horrendously poor candidates and campaigners. And Vance really needs to avoid donut shops, and Trump really needs do avoid all contact with the military. They despise him, for many good reasons. As it stands now, I do not see them getting elected, thankfully. Anyone but Trump.

Well I am of the opposing camp in a sense that I think that a lot of Thai men are very good people. I know a lot of Thais that are hard workers, good husband's, and good souls. Having said that, it seems like in general most have a lack of curiosity about the outside world, and therefore very little interest in getting to know us. I know that if I lived in Mexico, or India or the PI, or countless other countries, I would have a lot of very good local friends, which I do miss here. Not so here, I've been here for a long time and though there are a lot of Thai men that I like and hang out with with my woman, none of them would have any interest in getting together for lunch or getting to know me any better. It's just the nature of the culture, the few friends that I do have who have good Thai friends, met them overseas and they are Thai men with an international perspective. -
He's very important to keep in mind who this man is and to remain cognizant of his history and his record. 17 of his businesses have failed in the past few decades. Some at huge losses. Trump Steaks, Trump Shuttle Airline ($120 million in losses between 1988 and 1990), GoTrump, Trump Vodka, Trump Mortgage, Trump University, Trump Ice, The New Jersey Generals, Tour de Trump, Trump Network, Trump Magazine, Trumped!. Many businesses that licensed his name went bankrupt, or went out of business. And he had between four and six major bankruptcies (depending on the source), including the Trump Taj Mahal (which he spent $1.2 billion building, and was $3 billion in debt within a year of opening), Trump's Castle, Trump Place Hotel (which was very successful prior to Trump buying it in 1988, and he managed to put it into $550 million in debt by 1992!), Trump Hotels and Casinos Resorts ($1.8 billion in debt by 2004, bankrupt in 2009) , and Trump Entertainment Resorts. There are likely others. And this does not take into account the 3,600 lawsuits he was involved in as of the time he took office, the vast majority of which were filed by small contractors against his companies for non payment, or total default. Many of these contractors were crushed. It is part of his M.O. Promises made but never kept: Every voter needs to be reminded of Trump's promises last time he was running: There is very little that comes out of Donald's mouth that is the truth..... He promised to cut the deficit. He added $8T. He promised to build a wall. He only did 458 miles out of 2,000. Most of it was repair or replacement, not new. He promised to make Mexico pay. They didn't. We did. He promised to unveil a new healthcare plan. It didn't exist. He promised a middle-class tax cut. He cut taxes for the rich. The middle class is paying for it. He said he wouldn't play golf as President. He made 250 visits (way more than Obama) to his own golf clubs. It cost taxpayers $150 million. He said he'd increase economic growth by 4%. Nope. Biden did. He promised an infrastructure plan. He had none. President Biden signed a massive one. He promised to hire "the best people." He fired 3/4 of them and then said they were the worst ever, and they said HE was in fact the worst ever. He promised to bring down the price of prescription drugs. He didn't: Biden did. He promised a Hillary lock-up. Nope Promised we'd win the trade war with China. Nope, It cost about 250,000 jobs and hurt Americans, not help them. He promised his corporate tax cuts would help and benefit Workers, and corporations would use that money to invest in American workers. They didn't, they used that money to buy back stocks. He promised to revive the coal industry. Never happened: more coal jobs were lost during his presidency. Promises don't mean much when you can't believe anything a man says, based on him being a pathological liar and having absolutely no conscience.

This man has been making a career out of not paying his bills, and he's made a fortune from cheating small contractors out of a significant amount of money. He is a pathological liar and a cheat. That is his M.O. That is who he is. In this world, and in this life, it is infinitely easier to get rich by stepping on people, cheating them, and never looking back. However it's pretty pathetic when you pretend otherwise.

Bail Granted to Somyot and Others in "Boss" Yoovidhya Case
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I don't think any of this surprises any of us, we know that corruption here is based on wealth, and connections. If you have a certain level of wealth you are simply above the law, any and all laws. 200,000 baht bail for these guys would be the equivalent of asking most of us to pay four baht, to get out of jail. The Red Bull thing is just a big charade, they have no intention of finding him, they've never had any intention of finding him, they know the punk and his family are above the law, people with just a tiny fraction of their wealth are above the law, and this is one of the richest families in the nation. They own the government and the ministers, the police, and the senators. -

China Denies Upstream Water Release Amid Thai Floods
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I don't know enough about the situation to know how much responsibility the Chinese have in this, but I do know enough to know that the Chinese government, like most governments lies through their teeth, and in the case of the CCP even more than usual, since they are morally bankrupt beyond the reaches of most people's imagination. Having said that, there is no doubt that Thailand could be doing multiple projects to lessen the impact of seasonal flooding. The problem with that, is that it's a solution that would require a little bit of vision. Thaksin, Schmaksin. Who cares anymore? -
2 Japanese AV stars to meet Bangkok fans this September

Well this is a very personal thing, a lot of guys are comfortable having gotten with hundreds and hundreds of women, yet they want their women to be "very pure" . I don't need that, I like an experienced gal, I appreciate that. Under a hundred guys, no problem at all. If you really knew you would be astonished at how many guys a lot of women you've been with have had. -

An occasional topic of conversation with some of my friends is how many guys can a woman do, and still maintain some semblance of normality and the ability to have an open heart and engage in a healthy relationship. This is the conclusion that we've come to. So, how many? Many of us think there is a sort of sliding scale of damage. In my opinion, up to 150 men (beginner), no big deal. Millions of civilians around the world have had well over 100 men. 150-500 men (BAB - been around the block), she is experienced, but will likely be fine, if she has a good heart, and a strong mind. 500-1000 men (AVEG - a very experienced gal) is approaching the point where there very well might be some long term psychological damage. 1000-2000 men (ASP - a serious pro), and there is likely to be long term bitterness towards men. 2000 men (ATW - around the world) and over, and there is little chance of being able to engage emotionally in a healthy manner, ever again. And there could be physical issues too. 3,000 or more? All bets are off. 5,000? Many of these women will do one to 20 men in a single film, so think about 3,000 films. There are likely exceptions. But not many. -

The strange thing is I would rather watch censored Japanese porn, because when they're uncensored I end up seeing the men's anatomy, and the sorrow and sympathy that I feel for them outweighs any sort of excitement that I might have had from the video. -

Well, we all know he is a true desperado. With most men their wealth alone would be enough for them to attract beautiful young women. My guess is that's not the case with him, can you imagine sharing a bed with this guy? Be afraid. Be very afraid. -
You can dream all you want and you can make stuff up, nobody's going to believe you other than some Trump supporters. It was a gracious move by a dignified man and it was the right thing to do. Many Democrats such as myself we're asking and hoping that he stepped aside, and he did. I know a gracious move like that is probably something you can't relate to, but it was the right thing to do. And Harris sure as hell picked up the baton and ran with it. Get used to saying President Harris.

I hate it, I really hate it. I was planning on running against Biden, and I had a really good game plan, and then he just went about out like an incredibly gracious man, and Harris really took up the baton and ran with it like nobody expected. It just doesn't seem right, it just doesn't seem fair. I'm trailing in nearly all the polls now, very few people seem to be listening to me anymore, I can't seem to attract a good crowd anymore, everybody's making fun of me, I picked a terrible VP choice, he is flailing too, and everything seems to be going wrong. And I don't know how to adapt. It is not part of my greatness. It's just not fair, don't they know who I am? Don't they know how great I am? Don't they know that I am the most incredible human being on the planet? Don't they realize I'm the smartest guy in America? Don't they know how handsome I am? I'm am so confused, flustered, unhappy and bitter.

He is in the beginning stages of severe cognitive decline and it's a horrific thing to watch, he's an increasingly dangerous man and having him as the oldest elected president in history would not be a good thing. He rambles on and on, and it is easy to discern that he has a very hard time maintaining a thought for more than 15 seconds. He is, and has always been the master of slogans, and memes, but the public is just getting tired of the same game, day in and day out. He does not possess the creative juice to adapt, and that is absolutely killing his campaign, at this point. He is headed for the greatest humiliation of his lifetime. He's old, he's tired, he's now the oldest person to ever run for president, he's feels like he's 85 or 90 right now, he seems to be losing interest, he seems to be losing the plot, his message is getting tired, he has no ability to dance on his feet and be creative, and adapt, and he just seems to be disintegrating before our eyes, which is a beautiful thing to watch. And now, he seems to regret his choice of Vance, and seems very stressed out over Harris. Can't blame him for that.

He is doing everything wrong and is leading a disastrous campaign. He can't help it. It is his only game. He is a very old dinosaur, and even polls, supporters, and advisors are warning him about doing this, he is incapable to listening or taking advice. He does not have it in him. Women make up the majority of the electorate, and both Trump and Vance are pushing them away. They are hurtling towards a historic loss. And the world will celebrate that.

How likely is another military coup in Thailand 2024 ?
spidermike007 replied to CLW's topic in Political Soapbox
Nearly zero percent change. Everything has changed. All moral authority is gone. The army is on it's way out. It could take awhile, and it could get ugly, though it will never get to the hellish level of Burma, as the Thai parents would never, ever permit that kind of genocidal behavior from their sons. You take out one Thai, and you are forever disowned by this family. That is all it would take to bring about mass defections from the army ranks. That would sure be fun to witness. Are the pompous generals going to put themselves into harms way? Never. They do not have it in them, they are cowards.
