Thai Govt Disputes Claims of Deserted Tourist Spots

I agree. And this was just an attempt at satire. -
Escort scam: Thai man assaulted & robbed in Chiang Mai hotel trap
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Chiang Mai News
Yeah that's a very likely possibility, it is just another reason to never go back to their room, and always go back to your own room instead, or a neutral room. And always make sure everything's locked up, that's the first thing you do when you enter the room. -

Unveiling the True Cause of High Drug Costs in America

The Big Pharma mafia, in cahoots with the CDC, a major lobby, and the FDA. Nothing else needs to be said. -
The economy is still reeling after 9 years of the "Prayuth Decimation" and tremendous levels of incompetence with regard to economic policy. From what I hear new car sales are down over 40%, the used car market is dead, condo and home sales are down, and manufacturers are leaving Thailand in droves, with very little new investment coming in. Thailand is in for quite a ride over the next few years, and that doesn't even take into account the probability of a huge worldwide economic correction, which I believe is coming.

Police Investigate 6 Deaths in Bangkok Hotel, Inspect 8 Suitcases
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
I just read that this appears to be a poisoning by one of the members of the group, due to massive debt. Does this make sense? Why take others with you for the ride? That seems exceptionally cruel. -
Cyanide poisoning suspected in deaths of 6 Vietnamese nationals

I just read that this appears to be a poisoning by one of the members of the group, due to massive debt. Does this make sense? How would all six drink all the tea, at the same time? And why take others with you for the ride? That seems exceptionally cruel. -
Thai PM Denies Terrorism Link to Hotel Deaths, FBI Sends Team
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
I will be very curious to see what the police forensics reveal, and how they might spin the story. This is probably about the most frank and honest thing that Srettha has ever said in public, since he was appointed as PM. I just read that this appears to be a poisoning by one of the members of the group, due to massive debt. Does this make sense? Why take others with you for the ride? That seems exceptionally cruel. -
Irish terrorist engaged to Thai bride 50 years his junior
spidermike007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Technically, Britain engaged in terrorism worldwide for 300 years or so, using the East India Trading Company. India alone was terrorized by the UK, endlessly. Were it not for the thievery and bad behavior, it is likely the UK might have collapsed 100 years ago. Colonialism was certainly a far more traumatising experience for colonial subjects than their colonisers. They suffered poverty, malnutrition, disease, cultural upheaval, economic exploitation, political disadvantage, and systematic programmes aimed at creating a sense of social and racial inferiority. While some may argue that any suffering on the part of the British colonialists ought to be met with little sympathy, this is not a reason to obscure it from history. https://theconversation.com/colonialism-in-india-was-traumatic-including-for-some-of-the-british-officials-who-ruled-the-raj-77068 -
Escort scam: Thai man assaulted & robbed in Chiang Mai hotel trap

Huh? He came out of the bathroom with four men? That is quite a hat trick. Very unusual. Very bizarre. So, the perps climbed into the bathroom window and waited? Not buying it. -
Six Vietnamese Found Dead in Bangkok Hotel Room
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
That would be completely irrelevant. If they had a large suite at the Hyatt, they have done well, and spent decades working hard. The entire sorry smells fishy. -

I have never understood the appeal of Cha-Am, other than the fact that it's relatively close to the Bangkok metro area. It is not a particular nice beach, it's jam-packed on the weekends, the vendors are out of control, the area can get very congested, and there are a few nice hotels, but there's a lot of junky places too. I just don't get it, never have, never will. It reminds one of a 3rd world version of Bondi Beach. Or Kuta in Bali. Both are horrific. -
Trump picks J.D. Vance as running mate for VP at Republican convention
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in World News
A true bottom of the barrel pic, and a superfreak of a human being. It would have made sense for Trump to pick somebody a little bit centrist, instead he goes for an extremist, who absolutely abhors anything resembling the truth. Just like Trump. Plus, he is a total nut. Vance told ABC News in August 2016 that, although Trump successfully “diagnoses the problems” people are facing, he didn’t see Trump “offering many solutions.” In an October 2016 interview with journalist Charlie Rose, Vance said he was a “never-Trump guy.” In another 2016 interview about his book, Vance told a reporter that, although his background would have made him a natural Trump supporter, “the reason, ultimately, that I am not … is because I think that (Trump) is the most-raw expression of a massive finger pointed at other people.” He condemned the former president as “an idiot,” and messaged a friend that he vacillated between thinking that Trump was a “cynical <deleted>” and “America’s Hitler.” A former marine, Vance also implied that the reason the Biden administration wanted to “to go and fight Vladmir Putin” was that Putin “didn’t believe in transgender rights.” In an interview with Jim Hoft, the founder of far-right blog the Gateway Pundit, Vance echoed a conspiracy theory pushed by Tucker Carlson, implying that Joe Biden was purposely attempting to flood the heartland with fentanyl to “punish people who didn’t vote for him.” -
I now have the paperwork to prove what I have always claimed, and that is my absolute innocence. I am more innocent than the average 2 year old baby.

Thai Govt Disputes Claims of Deserted Tourist Spots
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Hua Hin and Cha-Am News
We are busy, we are very busy, people should not forget Thailand is the center of the known universe, and everybody wants to come here. It would be absolutely impossible that things were quiet, people are clamoring to come here, they're coming here by the tens of millions. We're preparing for 150 million tourists annually, within the next few years because we consider our country to be the foremost destination in the world. So please don't lie and please don't mislead people into thinking that we have a low season, and there are less tourists than normal. Show some respect! If you don't, we might lock you up.- 79 replies

Trump Media Shares Skyrocket Following Assassination Attempt
spidermike007 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Very bizarre, considering how little profit the company makes, and how few users the platform has. Something smells very fishy here. -
The extreme right is not a threat? The possibility of 60% tariffs on imports is not a threat to both the US and the world economy? Having a leader who cannot negotiate his way out of a paper bag is not a threat? Nor one who got outwitted by Kim, Putin, Xi, MBS and nearly every other leader he met with during the 43rd worst presidency ever?

Not hearsay, but solid testimony from credible witnesses, video footage and DNA evidence, that kind of thing. In some US states many people who are sentenced to death cost the state 60 million dollars, as they have an extensive appeal process. That kind of thing simply needs to be eliminated from the system for it to be effective.

Yeah, just as I was stating the official numbers look very rosy, and if you look at it on paper it's just amazing what's going on there. However every single person that I know with the exception of the top 10% are struggling, and just trying to make ends meet, as hard as they're working, as successful as they are, they're just trying to make ends meet, so break that one down for me please.
