  1. There are some very toxic forces at work, and there are some very toxic individuals that would need to be moved out of the way, in order for Thailand to truly progress as a society, move forward, and rid itself of some of the obstacles that are really holding it back.
  2. It likely depends on the size of the island, I used to live on Samui and I needed to get off the island every 2 weeks, or I would start going crazy. But that is a very small island and a change of horizon always proved to be very healthy. I think that likely applies to nearly anywhere someone is living, but more so on an island.
  3. One would hope in an ideal world that these men are eventually brought to task, tried, convicted, and jailed for robbing the treasury on a chronic basis. However we all know that the armed forces here have been given way too much power for way too long, and they have been nothing more than a vampire, sucking the blood and the treasure of society, and giving nothing in return.
  4. The Bratva at work in Thailand? They were invited into Thailand by Srettha, with an open legs visa policy. Not smart.
  5. I had some significant sinus issues years back and after doing a significant battery of tests my doctor said everything came back negative and I had likely developed an allergy to pollution. Was it worse when the air was really filthy here, back in April and May?
  6. No question, he is one of the most brilliant minds of the last century. He easily surpasses Einstein, Shweitzer, Hawking, Sagan, Nabakov, and Oppenheimer. He is a sage, who can see the future and remember the past. His brain is huge.
  7. He has 1,127 followers on Instagram and under 100 on Facebook. Not exactly a superstar. Very few Russians are. Perhaps only in his own mind.
  8. This convicted felon had very little credibility to begin with, but I would say he has zero credibility at this point, so anything he says is bound to be a lie, and he can never be believed or trusted, under any circumstances. This is just one of the things that would make him an incredibly dangerous president. His lack of sincerity and integrity is legendary. That is just who and what he is.
  9. There are many things that could be causing this, the very first thing I would look at is food allergies, and the possibility that you are allergic to dairy. If you are eating much in the way of cheese, cream, yogurt or milk I would look at that first. Try eliminating that and see if you're sinuses clear up. Second thing I'd look at is allergies, and the possibility that your allergies are creating sinusitis.
  10. This is an enormous and historic step backwards for the nation. Reform is reform, regression is regression, and this current administration has shown that they stand for backwards movement, lack of progress, and granting the RTP franchisees full reign and full license to collect everything possible and fleece the public. This has nothing to do with public health. Alcohol is infinitely more dangerous than cannabis and so are the highways, yet they do nothing about either of those two hazards. They allow the highway patrol to insist on never patrolling the highways and never doing their jobs properly.
  11. Devotees of his seem to be ultra sensitive to criticism of him. Wonder why? Of course I am another guy on the internet with an opinion. Who did you think I thought I was?
  12. I don't buy that, entirely. What I find remarkable, is how decent and law abiding most Thai people are, despite the lack of a deterrent. These super freaks who commit these act of terror on the highway are the exception. Definitely not the rule.
  13. I believe that. The media here is timid, and censored. Are there any news websites that are accurate and defy the govt. censors here?
  14. Keep up the momentum. And don't allow Harris to run. She is dreadful and she is widely disliked. They need to find a new candidate. Shapiro, Moore, Whitmer, or Booker, someone like that. Biden is not up for another four years. Trump must be stopped, or locked up.
  15. It is not going to make any difference. Just returned from Europe and popular destinations in Italy and France were packed. More so than before covid. Tourists are returning by the millions. Water pistols are only going to amuse tourists.
  16. Why did it take them a year to find this guy?
  17. Nearly everyone I know tells me that their wives do not try as hard, once they are married. That the motivation to be all they can be just sort of disappears. I can see if for myself. They often do not seem the same as they were before. And this especially applies once the kids were born, though that might happen here, to some extent too. Fortunately, I do not know about that part of the equation. Here, I do not see that happening as often. For some reason, the cultural differences allow the women here to be a greater version of themselves. Does that make sense? I realize if you are a Western woman, it is not easy reading this stuff. And certainly this does not apply to everyone, either here or there. Some in the west are just exceptional, and capable to rising against the tide. But, it does apply to most, from my point of view. Always remember one very important fact. You are a man. You have as much control as you are able to establish. You set the agenda. Time is always your ally. Not hers. She is almost always going to be in a hurry to make things happen. And lastly, if she is willing to come and stay with a guy she has never met before, she has more than likely been working as a bar girl, in a special massage parlor, or as an escort or freelancer. Very few real "civilians" would move that fast, nor be that forward. Buyer beware. And be good to yourself. Be a man. Leave behind the Western ways of emasculation.
  18. Excellent! I feel that deciding not to have children was likely single-handedly the greatest, wisest, and most astute decision that I've made in this lifetime! I have not missed them for a nanosecond, and I never will. It's a personal choice, we all have to make these kind of decisions. 98% choose to go the conventional route and have children. For me children were never an option. And I'm infinitely thankful for that. The best thing that's happening to the world right now is countries like China and Japan just saying no to children. Children are not that special, they're not really needed for many of us, they are way over rated, and thankfully it's a choice these days and not compulsory. A lot of people are saying no I don't need the headaches, I don't need the nonsense, I don't need the expense, I don't need the responsibility. I chose to have a great life, I don't need kids. I did that and it was the wisest and smartest decision of this lifetime. I don't miss not having kids for a nanosecond. If you look at the curves birth rates are falling all over the world, except in Africa, the forlorn continent. Falling in China, Thailand, Japan, etc. Some are predicting China's population to fall to 650 million within 50 years, the crisis is that bad. I don't call it a crisis. I think it's a huge blessing. Pain will be felt, welfare systems will be hard to support, as well social security and other forms of government nanny programs, but it's the best thing that could possibly happen for the future of the planet.
  19. Well the reality is that Thailand is a traditional culture, and by virtue of that a very conservative and highly conventional culture, so acting courageous would be considered abnormal, and untypical, and thereby discouraged. In addition attempting to bring a kid into line by using creative methods would probably also be discouraged.
  20. And so, the apathy and indifference continues, due to a lack of courage.
  21. Well, the US Supreme Court is simply another morally bankrupt judicial Institution. Not much of a yardstick.
  22. There is no doubt that he has hugely incompetent parents, or parents who simply don't care, or parents who are people who simply should not have had children, and don't deserve to have children. However I do believe that a creative teacher can accomplish alot. Having said that, it would require a great deal of ingenuity, and some knowledge of human psychology. Possibly over the head of the average Thai teacher.
  23. You are right, when I first moved here I was a bit of a hot head, and I was taking offence at the ridiculously aggressive driving on the Samui, when I lived there. I nearly got in some serious altercations a couple of times, and I realized after a while that I needed to calm down, not take other drivers quite as seriously, and just be more relaxed, far more defensive in my driving, and far less offended. That attitude has really paid dividends as I am much calmer these days and very rarely am I offended by what many numskulls do on the road.
  24. I think one can be very, very strong with the child, and show them absolute boundaries, without inflicting any trauma. I'm not advocating beating the hell out of the kid, however there are many creative ways to deal with the kids psychologically, especially when the kid is completely rotten or a bully. If anything quite the opposite is true, and this world is entirely too lenient with children, in this day and age with the "lost art of parenting".
  25. That's not really a reasonable analogy, after coming out of the .com bust the economy was booming for quite a few years, till 2007-2008. Worldwide. Having said that the army are the last people in the world that should be running an economy, Prayuth absolutely decimated the economy with 9 years of his toxic rule, and apparently those fools still have quite a bit of influence in this current proxy administration.
