  1. Are you really buying those inflation numbers? I see things going up quite a bit, nothing like back in the US but still I'm guessing the real inflation here has to be at least 10%.
  2. While some of these falls must be suicide, I would guess that some are also due to foul play, and some are just accidents. I've noticed a lot of the balconies here tend to be fairly low in height and some of the railings tend to be a little flimsy, so it is an accident waiting to happen, and one must exercise extreme care on a balcony here in Thailand. Like the furniture and many other things, much of what is built here, tends to be built for smaller people.
  3. You can dress a skeleton up in fancy clothes, but at the end of the day it's still a skeleton. Pretending that something is something else, does not change the reality one iota.
  4. It may come as a surprise to you Mr. Sretta, but if all the Thai dreams came true you would not be in the position that you're in right now, you would be fired immediately and perhaps sent into exile in a foreign land, and someone younger, smarter, and more competent, who had the wishes of the Thai people at heart, would be in control of the nation. Someone like Pita, the guy your cronies had eliminated from the position he was elected into, by the people you care so much for. So yes Happy New Year to you too.
  5. There is no question the economy is in big trouble here. If you look at industrial utilization as one aspect of economic productivity it really tells the tale. The "Prayuth Decimation" continues, and there does not appear to be anything Big Sretta can do to stop it. Capacity Utilization in Thailand decreased to 56.27 points in December from 57.24 points in November of 2023. Capacity Utilization in Thailand averaged 68.59 points from 2000 until 2023, reaching an all time high of 78.07 points in January of 2008 and a record low of 49.21 points in November of 2011. https://tradingeconomics.com/thailand/capacity-utilization
  6. Ignoring somebody's posts is the easiest thing in the world to do. It means absolutely nothing to me. And regardless of your arguments of the contrary, I double down on what I said. It may be moving society backwards in your opinion, but many of us consider that to be happening already. Society is moving backwards on its own.
  7. No reason to use common sense, your own intelligence and reason, when you have a map app doing all the work!
  8. Considering the fact that Move Forward was elected by the people to run the nation, Theerayut Suwankesorn could be labeled a traitor. He is certainly the polar opposite of a patriot.
  9. If he does not open the window, I open the door, and ask if he is willing to use the meter. That really is quite simple.
  10. What I meant, is that if you get in a fight with a local, more than likely the crowd will join in, against you, or you will take the blame for starting the fight. Best to avoid it.
  11. Certainly the same could be said about Trump. Both of them getting out the way would be a great idea.
  12. Yes, many of us would choose to jump out of a plane, as the jet is barreling down the runway taking off.
  13. He declared war very early on and essentially made up the tag MSM. I don't like the MSM either, but he is the one who drew first blood, and he is the one who declared war on them very early on. He had to know the repercussions were going to be stiff and dramatic. This is a man who brings on his own misery. He simply cannot help himself.
  14. Even as a lifelong democrat I would admit that he's much too old for the office and he should have stepped aside to make room for someone younger and more vital. The secondary aspect of this is the liability of his vice presidential choice. Harris is horrific on so many levels, but that brings us to the topic of Trump. He is way too old, he's deranged, he's partly senile and he's definitely insane, so we have two very terrible choices.
  15. Well the other aspect of this equation is that if you end up in a physical altercation with a Thai person you're always going to lose, even if you beat him up you're going to lose, if he beats you up you're going to lose. There's no way to come out of that situation ahead, so it's best just to walk away like you say.
  16. He asked for it by putting himself in that position, and never forget he drew first blood with the media. He is the one who declared war on the media. What did the numskull expect would happen?
  17. You speak from experience? Are you certain about this? It seems unlikely that he would be treated the same, especially if he does not speak fluent Thai.
  18. Yep. He is in for a world of hurt. That is one very risky area of crime. It likely takes a far higher level of sophistication to get away with it. Using proxies might be a good place to start.
  19. The army seemed to have defied his wishes, and used the LM laws as a tool to prevent protests.
  20. A while back they had a campaign with posters and phone numbers that you could call to report vehicles that were polluting. We were driving and we saw this truck that was pumping out huge black clouds of smoke and I copied down their license plate and I dialed the number, and handed my phone to my Thai wife and ask her speak to the department. She asked the person who answered the phone what can they do? He ask my wife why are you calling us and she said, well you have phone numbers posted to report polluting vehicles? The guy said well I don't know anything about that, nor who I would report it to, and she said well that's not really our issue is it? You're supposed to be monitoring polluting vehicles. He said OK, I'll give me the license plate number and I'll see what I can do. My wife said are you going to do anything? He said, I don't know, I need to look at the regulations first and see who I'm supposed to report it to, and then maybe somebody will do something.
  21. They shut down the economy due to covid. But, burning cane is ok. Can't they see the effect it is having on the air? Do they care one iota? Don't the leaders live here too? Why are they MIA? Why don't the "do nothing guys" do something for a change? When the crop burning starts to kill the population, and lowers the quality of life for those of us who don't die, isn't it time to take action? We just don't need the sugar. Shut down this toxic, heinous industry. Lock up the farmers. Sieze their land. Do whatever it takes.
  22. There is such a simple solution to this. You ask about the meter before you get into the cab. I always do that. And I don't get into a cab with a wasted driver. Darwin was right. The theory of natural selection, means we all have to exhibit certain survival skills, to thrive in this world. Self protection is just one of those skills. Some have it, some do not.
  23. The public urges government assistance in tackling air pollution. If you goons were not bought and paid for by Big Agra, the burning would stop. It is your compromised nature and your unwillingness to put up a good fight, that is the major cause of the air apocalypse we are facing. People are dying and suffering in hospitals on your watch, and their blood is on your hands. You are cowards. You are incompetents. You deserve to be voted out with a vengeance. Oh, I forgot. That already happened. Who is the current PM? He is a man who represents corporate interests. He is a man who represents the elite. This is not a man who represents progress, change, or helping the nation to move forward. This is not a man who represents the people. This not a man who cares about the well-being of the people. Corporations do not want to clean up the air, they're making billions by fouling the air. All the government or provinces would have to do is crack down on sugar companies and the air would improve by 70% overnight, this time of year. One simple move, yet do they do that? Do they enforce any of the existing laws? Absolutely not, they do not care for the people one iota, the common man, us, our neighbors and friends and family, we mean less than zero. Thailand is becoming the new Beijing, or Delhi. Without some action, this will only get worse. I can think of some action, but I can't write it here. Sretta. The do nothing man.
  24. I sincerely believe there are acts one can commit, which represent a self revocation of the right to consume oxygen. The prisons are already quite full. Why burden society by having to take care of a worthless inmate? Bring back the death penalty, but do it in such a way that is happens swiftly, and without the possibility of appeal. Assuming there are eye witnesses and positive proof of a heinous crime. I think there are circumstances where the crime, or crimes were so horrific, no trial should be required, and there should be a mandatory death penalty carried out within 30 days. Just be off with the cretin. An old school panel of three judges, or something to that effect. If there is enough evidence, eye witnesses, or sufficient forensic proof, why should the state, the people, and the families have to be made to suffer?
  25. Did you also eat oatmeal for breakfast, and post it on your Instagram account? Are you 14 years old? Again, you get the award for the silliest post of the month. Is that 3 months in a row?
