  1. Perhaps we can get the geriatric billionaire generals to offer to help Israel in their time of need. After all the generals in Thailand have to be of some service to somebody, they have to be of some use, they have to justify themselves on some level don't they? Show your grit, you old geezers. At least you would be able to say that you've actually had some military experience.
  2. You're a conveniently forgetting covid it was a historic generational opportunity for businesses both small and large to engage in major price gouging and starting an inflationary cycle that will not be forgotten for generations. The second aspect of this you're conveniently forgetting, is the trade war that Trump declared on China that contributed to the inflationary cycle that was like nothing we've seen in decades. It was perhaps the most ignorant thing that a president has done in a century or two.
  3. It is very difficult to get a highly conservative mind that has been accustomed to living in a tiny box of convention, to change, evolve, progress and move forward in a meaningful and positive manner.
  4. There is some truth to what you say, but it is limited to guys that are decent looking, in pretty good shape and have really good game. You absolutely need to have good game to be able to get with any civilians. In addition it helps to have some bling if you're on a tight budget there's no way that's going to happen. The other aspect of it is the age gap, if you're a 65-year-old guy looking to get with a 25-year-old gal it's likely not going to happen if she's a pure civilian, and you are not paying for it.
  5. Anutin stated that his ministry already has a comprehensive responsibility for the welfare of the citizens, under the motto "Alleviate Suffering, Promote Well-Being." If they really wanted to alleviate suffering and promote well-being the very first thing they would do is get rid of the organization that they're beholden to, the Thai Army, and make sure they are never allowed to participate in politics again. They are perhaps the most toxic and the most useless of all organizations in the entire history of the nation. They do nearly nothing for the people, besides vacuum huge sums of money each year from the treasury.
  6. Rice is a nice food to eat, but a dreadful crop to grow. It ensures a lifetime of poverty. There is a very simple solution to this problem. If the authorities were interested in solutions. The burning has to stop. There are alternatives, to this 19th century technique of burning after the sugar cane harvest. Either the government starts to encourage farmers to switch to more environmentally friendly crops, or they start to penalize farmers for burning. This heinous burning, is leading to a tremendous degree of environmental degradation, and alot of lung disease. The government should offer incentives, for the farmers to switch crops. This is 2023. Rice and sugar worked in previous centuries. Now, they do not make any sense. Too labor intensive, too much degradation of the land, water, air, and resources. Let's get with the times. Let us move forward.
  7. Sretta has a really outstanding and foolproof plan to attract billions in foreign investment. Employ the $800 million smile. His megawatt smile can accomplish anything. No need for real policy.
  8. I guess it would be very hard for you to wrap your mind around the absolute fact that Dems have a history of running the economy much more efficiently then Republicans and more Republican administrations have led to recession then the Democrats. But it's likely that your YouTube podcasts don't talk about that kind of stuff.
  9. One of the truly tragic aspects of the continued highway carnage is that neither the police nor the highway patrol will patrol the highways. The highway patrol utterly refuses to do their job and patrol the highways. They only show up at the scene of an accident and all the other time they hang out in their little air conditioning offices playing cards or playing with their phones. They adamantly refuse to go out onto the highway and look for reckless drivers, look for drunk drivers, and create some sort of deterrent that most countries have that prevent people from driving like complete maniacs. The roadblocks do absolutely nothing and the deaths continue.
  10. Well for me it was a choice between sleeping pills or death, since I was only getting one hour of sleep per night, with the severity of my tinnitus and lack of sleep, my organs were degenerating, according to the doctors and sleeping pills were pretty easy choice over death.
  11. This trend is certainly not confined the soi six, there is a general blimping going on throughout the entire nation. A decade of gorging on very low quality fast food is having a dramatic consequence on the population. The days of the 45 kg. spinners seems to be dissipating.
  12. They may be transgender in the west but in Thailand they are ladyboys, always have been, and always will be. The real question is why are such a high percentage of crimes in Pattaya perpetrated by ladyboys, why isn't something done, about why isn't there some sort of program going on to address this issue? Are they really such desperados, is their life really so difficult, is business down for them what's going on?
  13. Torsak is about as convincing as all the men who have come before him, nobody takes them seriously. Has Thailand ever had an effective police chief who has really done his job? I don't think so. Is it ever going to happen? Let us hope, but it certainly is not happening now.
  14. They are simply internet predators and we just have to ignore them. They can't really do us any harm, unless one is very thin skinned. You really can't take anything that they're saying seriously. Goofballs.
  15. Very very sorry to hear about this tonight is not something I would wish on anyone as far as I know there is no cure I have tried 20-30 different things everything except hypnotism by tinnitus specialist at which is only three in the United States. Many years ago I developed a serious ear infection and after treating it with massive doses of antibiotics I ended up with tinnitus which has never gone away. It's been almost ten years now. Within the first year of getting tinnitus I couldn't sleep anymore because the sound was too loud. I ended up consulting with a neuro and a shrink and they told me I had a year to live, that if I didn't start sleeping well my organs would start failing! So, I chose the pills over death. Ever since then I've taken rivotril, started with .5 mg of now I take 1 MG. a day. I sleep fantastic every night and wake up every morning refreshed. I don't care that I'm addicted, I have a life again, so go for it, it'll change your life. Be careful, as many antibiotics are ototoxic. I would not wish my condition on anyone. Except perhaps Hun Sen, Than Shwe, Putin, a popular politician in the US, and Xi. It has never gone away, and it's very very loud. So the only way I can sleep at this stage is to take sleeping pills. I've been taking them for over 10 years, I do sleep rather well, and I take a fairly minimal dose of Rovitril, which is non generic version of Clonazepam. I do recommend them for somebody with a significant sleep disorder. I hear cannabis oil can work for some. In my case I think my condition is too severe for that to be effective. We make our choices in life. I chose to get some sleep.
  16. What I call strange is something that I very rarely see, and I see this kind of thing happening a lot, all over the world. Kids are growing up a lot faster these days, and 14 and 15 year old girls are really starting to strut their stuff, with or without their parents around. I don't know if their parents really have much to say about it at all, or if the lost art of parenting is a factor. I am thrilled to death on a daily basis that this is not a problem that I have to wrestle with.
  17. This may be the most fictitious post I've read in the past month, it's totally made up, there is no uptick in consumer confidence right now, people are very worried about the economy, the economy continues to suffer not just in Thailand but elsewhere too. So this is complete nonsense. Go out to any new car dealer in Thailand and ask them about new car sales right now, talk to any real estate broker and ask them about condo sales right now. Sometimes you just have to say no to nonsense.
  18. This is likely just the speech that they've rehearse for the most naive amongst the population. Everybody knows that the greatest threats that exist here come from within the nation from the population, that's the greatest threat to the excessive power the army enjoys. Frigates won't help with that. The 2nd greatest threat? China, of course. Frigates won't help with that either. Who else is a great threat to Thailand? Malaysia? Singapore? Cambodia? Laos? Vietnam? The PI? Please guys. Listen to yourselves. This is just about boys with gargantuan egos, and the status of a high ranking officer, and huge budgets that the people have allowed them, wanting something new and shiny, that they can talk about over 30,000 baht champagne dinners, at Michelin starred restaurants in Bangkok.
  19. There are so many women of all colors, and stripes, and varieties here that you just find one that you're compatible with. I have found plenty of great kissers over the years, plenty that seem to enjoy kissing, if one doe not like kissing and foreplay, you just move on, you're not my type you don't like this thing okay, see you? Same with foreplay, sex without foreplay just isn't of interest. Some we are compatible with, that's all there is to it, it's a pretty simple formula.
  20. I completely agree there are several people who keep boasting nearly every day, and their posts are absolute drivel, no content, no thought put into them, I want to be seen and heard so guys please reply, those kind of posts. I just ignore those members at this point and enjoy the rest of the good content that's on here, and there is plenty of good content, and there are plenty of members who are thoughtful, intelligent, articulate, and really have something to say. That's what I focus on, the rest of the stuff like any other form of social media I just ignore. Water off a duck's back.
  21. While are certainly correct, I live life much the same way here. I just got back from a month in the US and the level of anxiety, the dour attitude alot of the people have, the near complete lack of humor, the stress levels that people are enduring, it just doesn't seem like a particularly pleasant or fulfilling life back there. Add in the silly cost of living and what do you have? A lifestyle only those fortunate enough to own land and a home free and clear, or the wealthy can enjoy. Of course anybody can carve out their own local paradise, but I'm so much happier here, so much more fulfilled.
  22. They will be competing against junk beer. Easy deal. Thai beer is only rivaled by Serbian beer, and the mass produced American beers, in terms of the very low quality. Poor grade of hops, barely, and the production process seems to be entirely lacking in pride. Typical of the big monopolies. Even a large production beer, like Beer Laos blows away any Thai beer, hands down. Thailand desperately needs a vital craft beer movement, and the youth are ready to mount it. If only the dinosaurs would stop protecting their "bankers" and move out of the way. In other words, allow some progress, you mindless simpletons! Boon Rawd Brewery, which makes Singha, and ThaiBev, which brews Chang, the country’s best-selling beer, are owned and run by two of the wealthiest families in Thailand. Through longevity and political influence, these two breweries have dominated Thai beer for nearly a century, forcing out or crushing any competition, foreign or domestic. And we all know how they easily accomplish this. Thaopipob Linjittkorn, or Thao as he is more popularly known, a lawyer and homebrewer, was very publicly arrested in 2017 for making beer. He used that publicity to win an election to Parliament in 2019, along with 80 other members of the Future Forward Party. This progressive, pro-democracy party included in its platform a detailed plan to deregulate the beer industry, as well as a proposal for the legalization of marijuana, citing both as ways of putting money into the pockets of small businesses and local farmers. For some, craft beer is associated with anti-establishment politics. “It’s very similar to the French Revolution, which started from a cafe in Paris, where people drank coffee,” says Taopiphop. “The fuel of the revolution is not coffee any more, it’s craft beer.” Taopiphop adds that, after the 2014 coup in Thailand, many pro-democracy activists chose to meet in Bangkok’s craft beer bars. If only the younger Thais were allowed to express themselves, be inventive, be creative, be industrious, and use their smarts and ambition, Thailand could have a future. Craft beer is needed here, and so are the young entrepreneurs. But, that future appears to be suppressed at every turn by dinosaurs, who only answer to money, money, and even more money. Money is the God of lesser men. The money first attitude is holding back Thailand on so many levels.
  23. Anyone like China Airlines? I hear very mixed reports about them.
  24. One of the unfortunate aspects of getting older and is that we tend to leave more and more friends and dear ones in the rear view. I remember talking to my grandmother when she was 98, and she said with the exception of you guys every single person I've ever known in this lifetime is gone.
  25. My first trip to Samui was a 1986, unfortunately I don't seem to have any pictures from back then. But I do have some more recent pictures from a place that I lived in for many years, it was paradise up to a point, and when the island got way overdeveloped, we finally left. Those views never got old.
