Are you claiming that 120kph, in a four land divided highway, in good weather, in a nearly new car is not safe? Really? And you drive slower than that, on the open highway? And I am now a stupid man for that? If that is the case, my guess is that you have labeled half or more of the folks on this forum as such.

Really? The BOB (bottom of the barrel) picks for finance minister and the other so called leaders is less than expected, performance wise. What did they expect? When they are selected based on who they know, not much can be expected. So far, no positive policy, no good ideas. No forward vision. Nothing but oppression, repression, suppression, lies, fabrications, deflection, a total unwillingness to man up and take responsibility for anything, enrichment for the army, economic destruction, and no coherent policy in regard to revitalizing the once vibrant tourism industry. If you had tried to reduce your nation from a once powerful giant tiger shark, to a tiny, insipid, sickly minnow, you could not have done a better job than following up nine long years of army rule, by allowing PT and Sretta, teamed up with the army goons, to lead the nation. To say they are adrift, would be diplomatic.

I found it quite pathetic, in terms of nightlife. It is still a gorgeous island, and the Andaman is very special. Deep water, incredible seafood, great diving, amazing weather and storms, etc. But, other than Bangla Road (which used to have bevys of gorgeous gals, and now is anemic and overpriced as usual), the action on Phuket is not even a pale shadow of it's former self. I never need to return. Much prefer Samui, in terms of the Southern islands.

A follower mentality. Like adhering to a 90kph speed limit, on a 4 lane divided highway. I do not care how many of those inane mailbox tickets they send. I will continue throwing them away for the rest of my life. Silly laws are meant to be ignored, ridiculed and dismissed. As long as I do not harm myself or others, I have no issues with ignoring stupidity.

Russell Brand: BBC and Channel 4 investigate allegations
spidermike007 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
He has guilt written all over his face. One thing I just do not understand. When a man is good looking, famous and wealthy, he can get with nearly anyone he wants. The gals are just clamoring to be with you. So, why take advantage of women who are not willing? Is it pure pathological mania? Is it a conquistador mentality? Is the man simply bent? I never liked his acting, nor his comedy. And his podcasts were absolutely obnoxious. So at a minimum, this might make him less visible, which is a good thing! -
Well, not to say they are wrong. But, they are buying into a pop culture corporate machine. Do they have good taste? Or, are they following trends? You be the judge. I admit I am out of step here. Willingly. Deliberately. Contemporary culture feels like it is on the decline. Is it me? Maybe. Or it may be a decent observation.

Swollen joint on second toe, pain in others
spidermike007 replied to simon43's topic in Health and Medicine
You can prevent it entirely with Allopurinol (puride). I was having occasional gout attacks, and did some blood work with a rheumatologist. We kept upping the dosage, and at 450mg per day, my levels were brought down to where I need them to be, in order to not have to avoid my favorite foods, which are mostly seafood. Also, colchicine stopped working for me entirely. I tried using the Japanese Big Pharma, non generic version, Colcrys, which is not available here, and is ridiculously expensive. I now use Indoman (Indomethacin), which is far more effective, is cheap, and available here, and gets rid of a gout attack within hours, or a day at the most. -
From what I understand this is already being done in the EU. Have a friend who lives in Spain, and he tells me he has to work fairly hard to work around these tax laws, to shelter US income from double taxation. For Thailand to attempt something like this would be foolhardy, ignorant, arrogant, and unwise. They cannot even enforce tax laws at home. How are they going to attempt to police overseas income? Perhaps they could get the weak, and highly complicit banks to cooperate?

Here are 11 top moments from Trump's 'Meet the Press' interview

Believe him at your own peril. Remember, truth is not truth. And nothing he says is in any way connected to reality. Add to that the fact that he can't negotiate his way out of a wet paper bag, and your boy is quite the choice.- 106 replies

Thailand urges US to restore GSP to give trade protection
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Thailand does not enjoy playing on an even playing field. They want the benefits, without having to make any sacrifices. Lowering luxury taxes to a more reasonable 20% would be a good place to start. And lowering wine taxes to 50%? Maybe then you would see a vibrant wine industry here that sells good wine, wine events at the 5 stars, rather than an industry focused on very low end, cheap swill. And you might see some actual customers in the luxury boutiques. A sacrifice. What is that? -
As usual, they picked another bottom of the barrel minister. Her qualifications? Currently 41 years old, she is the daughter of “Kamnan Por” or Mr. Weerasak Wangsupakitkosol, former deputy minister of transport and deputy minister of commerce during the government of Gen. Prayut Chan-o-Cha. They must have searched far and wide for someone highly qualified for this post. After the Covid failures here and the astonishing level of cowardice displayed toward the re-opening, Thailand has not recovered and it is possible they never will. The quality of tourist was already falling in love before Covid. And why did it all happen? Why were the shutdowns so selective? It is more and more apparent by the day, that the destruction and sabotage of Thailand's tourism industry is likely deliberate, and planned out. Nothing else makes sense. They have been wanting to get rid of the nightlife for as long as they have been in power. What better way to do this, than use the cover of Covid? Reduce the entire industry to ashes, then rebuild it, in their own pure as snow image. Without a trace of nightlife, or a hint of a sex industry. The only problem is the more they sanitize the country, the less appealing it becomes to tourists.

Weighing passengers to become standard for Bangkok Airways
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
No thanks. BA is an over priced airline anyway. Now, with this rather intrusive policy, I will spend my money elsewhere. See ya! -
Mostly birds is what you will see. The National parks are your best bet, as they are well protected, and many of the park rangers take their jobs seriously. You can see wild elephants and bison at some of the parks. Alot of monkey species. Alot of species of cats, but they are likely harder to spot. And alot of smaller reptiles and furry creatures.

Skip it forever. Say no to growing rice. I don't hear many good things about growing rice, and would never engage in that kind of sustenance crop growing. So many more progressive crops out there. If you take some time to convert the soil, there are so many crops that are more profitable, and better for the environment. Rice has to be at the bottom of the list. Great to eat, horrible to grow. Ensures a life of poverty for the grower.

Get a check for uric acid. You want to rule out gout first. It can be dangerous if left untreated. -
Bad Biden polls stoke third-party angst for Democrats

Not sure if you have been paying attention, but all the good men and women are leaving, and or unwilling to run for office. Name just a few that are left, if you can.
