Trump has already disqualified himself from White House return

What other choices do they have? I stopped voting a while back. The choices are so bad. -
‘Main customers’: Russians fleeing Putin’s war find a home in Phuket
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
This would not be a fun time to be a Russian. Having a war loving, despot dictator lording over you has to be miserable. One can only hope they can somehow figure out a way to resolve this soon. -
Tourist Police Explain "Skateboard Incident" at Don Mueang airport
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
This is one instance, where I think the police not only behaved properly, but were downright graceful in the way they handled this goon. I do not think the cop was ever in danger, and it appeared that they knew they had the creep under control. Kudos to them. An over reaction, or an American style "police commando response" would have gotten alot of bad press.- 198 replies

Trump has already disqualified himself from White House return
spidermike007 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
That is not the issue. I think what has happened is that both the campaiging, and the office itself has become so toxic, and so degrading, between the corporations who essentially control the government now, their lobbyists, the horrendous senate and congress, the media, and social media, that anyone of real character has no interest in engaging in the circus. So, you end up with lightweights like Trump and DeSantis, due to their megalomania. The others? The good ones? Zero interest in dragging themselves or their family through the mud and slime. -
Pita speaks out on PM vote, claims his re-nomination was valid
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It is reasonable for Pita to speak truth, and he should avoid joining the creeps. His party defined progress and change. Joining the coalition is the opposite of that. -

In Cambodia, they disqualify the candidates before the elections, or have them threatened or exiled. Look at the history of Sam Rainsy. Hun Sen is a genocidal former Pol Pot leader who has opponents and critics murdered, (check out thr story of Chea steals land and has amassed billions of dollars. The Thai politicians are corrupt and bad. But, Sen redefines the concept of a strongman dictator. And the West supports him. -
Life is way, way too short to ever make a big deal over 10 baht. Ever. I have known wealthy men who quibble, and make a big stink over 10 or 20 baht on a sizable restaurant bill. That is the epitome of a lack of class. Let it go. Get on living your life.

Brutal Debt Collection: Pork Seller shot in the Face
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
The Thais have a debt problem. About a third of the people in Southeast Asia’s second-largest economy owe a total of 16 trillion baht ($454 billion) to regular lenders — plus an estimated 1 trillion baht borrowed from loan sharks. The official total is nearly as large as the country’s annual output, putting Thailand’s debt ratio higher than the US or Germany. The country’s central bank paints the burden as a drag on economic growth and a threat to financial stability. While populist measures implemented by past and present governments have exacerbated the problem, policymakers have become increasingly concerned and are now striving to fix it. https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2023/07/03/why-thais-have-high-household-debt-and-why-it-s-risky/1f4a36ec-1997-11ee-be41-a036f4b098ec_story.html -
Trump has already disqualified himself from White House return
spidermike007 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
There is no question he is unqualified to run. But, he was unqualified to run the 1st time too. And he became president. Only in America. He was likely the 44th worst in history. Will his current legal woes stop him? Will the republican party step in? I doubt it. They seem scared, and cowed by him and his fanatical devotees. It seems no matter what he says, no matter what he is charged with, no matter what he does, he is above the law in the eyes of his followers. What can one say? I hope they are somehow able to get him convicted. He needs to be banished into the wilderness.- 132 replies

1. Never attack a policeman. It usually does not end well. 2. If he had done that in the US, there is a good chance he would have been shot dead. 3. The cops behaved very cool. I give them credit for that. They looked amused. Just another foreign crazy. 4. He looked Chinese. If he did that in China, he would likely be locked up for decades!

Feasibility Study Expedited for Government Spaceport Project
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
How many aeronautical engineers does Thailand have? Do they have space programs at the Uni level? Or will they be humble enough to admit this will require alot of foreign talent? -
True that. Anything but the bloated, corrupt, ancient, toxic army guys.

It is about personal discipline. If one cannot live without a drink every day, there is a real issue.
-
Well, they are very fast to begin with. And I use SSD external drives, so capacity is not an issue, nor will it ever be.
-
Drinking is so over rated, and anyone who drinks daily is an addict. Going several days or a week or two without a drink is a very healthy thing to do, and demonstrates control over ones life. Nothing wrong with a drink here and there. It is the daily drinking that can get out of control. Who's life is it, anyway?

Pattaya Traffic Police Crack Down on Arab Groups
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Don't know about Arab families, but here and in the US, children are coddled to no end. In reality, the kids are the parents, and they own the parents. Saying no is just a forgotten art, along with good parenting. Just say NO! -
Just got a new Mac Studio M2. It is amazing. Crazy fast. Paired it with an LG 42" OLED C2. The best setup I have ever had. Super pleased. Not cheap. But, really worth it.
