Any excuse to deny the will of the people. The toxic dinosaurs do not understand the ramifications of this power trip they are engaging in. The people will not tolerate it again, and the army does not have the option of another coup, now that all the moral authority is gone. Granted, Pita should have seen this coming. The party should have selected multiple potential candidates and he should have divested the stock already. But, this is simply a ruse by the spectacularly corrupt, bought and paid for election commission. Hopefully, the people will rise up and not tolerate this kind of chicanery.

Mexico v Thailand
spidermike007 replied to bradiston's topic in Visas and migration to other countries
The seafood was in Ensenada. The prices are in pesos. About 17.8 to one dollar. Amazing seafood for the money. That would be a highlight for me. And the food is gorgeous. -
Mexico v Thailand

There are alot of things I love about Thailand. I live very well on my monthly income here. But, if I were wealthy? I would likely only spend 2 or 3 months of the year here. Too many better alternatives. If you have alot of cash. Alot. -

Thailand is still reasonable. It used to be cheap. Has not been cheap for a long time. But, it is still reasonable. I know people who pay 10,000 baht a month for newer 3 bedroom houses in nice towns. In major cities in the US? $2000-3800 a month. That is 120,000 baht! In Mexico in nice areas, expect to pay $1,000 per month, and up for a nice condo or a small house. -

Not true. Mexico is extraordinary, on so many levels. Only someone who has not spent alot of time there, can say something as uneducated and uninformed as what you said, about Mexico. There is poverty in Mexico, and alot of poorer people move to the US for the opportunities. But, Mexico has a huge and vibrant economy and a large middle class. It has a GDP twice the size of Thailand and the per capita income is 50% higher than Thailand, at nearly $10,000. -
Mexico v Thailand

Mexico has ridiculously rich culture, compared to near bankruptcy here, when it comes to true culture. Dance, theatre, jazz, wine, film festivals, people who understand their own language, when you try to speak it to them, a language in our alphabet, without the ridiculous tones, etc. And gorgeous, wild, deep sea seafood cooked by people who know the difference between a grill and a frying pan filled with oil. The seafood on the west coast beats Thailand, hands down. Fresher, wilder, tastier and cheaper. Not to mention access to great tequila and good beer and wine. Those elements would be a joy. For me, as much as I love Mexico and it's people, the two biggest deterrents would be a far higher cost of living than Thailand, and the security situation. I don't like to always have to maintain situational awareness when outside and I would not tolerate the cartel goombahs well. Which could be fatal. I was recently in Baja, and it felt like an army seige. Here, I always feel safe. Here, the crime perpetrated against foreigners is quite low. -
I don't hear many good things about growing rice, and would never engage in that kind of sustenance crop growing. So many more progressive crops out there. If you take some time to convert the soil, there are so many crops that are more profitable, and better for the environment. Rice has to be at the bottom of the list. Great to eat, horrible to grow.

I just do not understand this kind of thing. When a relationship is not working out, a real man tries to make it work, and when he sees that she is not who he thought she was, and things are just not coming together, he walks away, holding his head high. Anyone man with self esteem, who is in possession of his manhood, just wishes the woman well, and walks away. With a failure like this, one has to ask: 1. Who are his parents, and why did they fail so miserably? 2. Why did he stop maturing at the age of 13, and never become a man? 3. Why does he have no self esteem. What caused him to hate himself so much, that he could not just accept reality, and walk away? 4. Why does this worthless thug have so little respect for others, and for human life? One has to hope he will be locked up in prison for a very long time, and let us hope some of his fellow inmates teach him the kinds of lessons he should have learned long ago.

The Italian authorities have issued an arrest warrant, and are in the process of picking him up, so he can stand before a tribunal, and answer for his cultural and culinary crimes.

Oh yes they do. When they do not have alot of money, and are being pursued by the Thai police. I know people who have been locked up here, for next to nothing, because they could not come up with a million baht, to buy their way out. Whether he is guilty or innocent, the Swedish police are 100x more competent than the Thai police, and infinitely less corrupt.

It is astonishing the sheer number of bad actors in the armed forces here, especially the spectacularly toxic and nearly useless Thai army. Do these guys get punished? Are they treated like normal civilians by the judicial system, or does the army intervene, and protect them? Anything, absolutely anything that can be done to limit the power of the army, and the toxic and corrupt senators they appointed, is a good thing for the nation. The dinosaurs must be made extinct. And the youth must be allowed representation or control. Total control, if possible. They are the only ones who can move this nation forward, and stop the heinous and regressive army.

There are a dozen alternatives to classic revenge. There are so many ways to go after a bad actor these days. Shame, online humiliation, direct access to family members, etc. The list is endless. The worst thing in the world anyone can do, when they have been scammed for a large amount of money, is to just let it go. It just encourages the criminal. No thanks. I would devote my life to finding him, pursue him to the ends of the earth, and make his life a living hell.

There have been a total of just under 100 million covid cases in China, since the beginning. Yet, we are being asked to believe that 65 million cases a week is even possible there, and will happen within weeks? It boggles the mind, and defies reason. Please do not cite any mainstream media nonsense about this.

As a centrist dem, I considered her to be a terrible choice to begin with, and she has certainly shown that with her dismal performance as VP. Although Biden is not a bad president, he is too old and tired to carry on. So is Trump. Bad choices. Harris has never been a spokesperson for anything, and how is she going to start now? It is wishful thinking, by a broken party, making awfully bad choices.

We just don't know the dynamics of this family, and know nothing about the relationship between the granny and her daughter. It is quite possible the daughter was being abused and harassed by granny. It is not like she dropped her off in the middle of nowhere. These articles are so poorly written, they often result in a rush to judgment and condemnation. I have seen alot of parents here who treat their daughters like indentured servants.

There is very little to fear. It is endemic, and few cases are resulting in death now. And the numbers here are rising, but in many other nations they are barely going up, or continue to decline. I have not worn a mask in a year, even on flights back and forth to the US, or in the airports. Thais are some of the few people still all masked up. I am not concerned, at all. Had covid. No big deal, if you trust your own immunity. If you are old and in poor health, a simple cold or flu poses a risk. I will not be getting any more boosters. Nada. This is not the Zombie apocalypse. By the end of week 21 (ending 28 May 2023), decreasing or stable trends were observed in EU/EEA indicators based on pooled country data in all age groups, a continuation of the pattern observed in recent weeks. There were 368 deaths reported from 19 countries. https://covid19-country-overviews.ecdc.europa.eu/

If you are suicidal, and are going to attempt to take your own life, at least do it in such a way that you are likely to succeed. Few things are more pathetic than failing at suicide, and becoming famous for it. A 3rd floor fall is a bad bet. You are right. He would likely survive and end up with horrible injuries.

Thai stock market suffers as Stark Corporation defaults
spidermike007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
We will likely see a massive correction, both here and worldwide, in the coming year or two. Just wait. The Thai economy is in rough shape and will most definitely be rocked by whatever happens worldwide. -
Great point. Many Western women got started very young. In school now in the US, sex is very common starting at 13 years old. I think many by the time they reach 25 have had well over 100 sex partners. Yet, they would tell you they only had one or two boyfriends, and you would presume they are relatively innocent. Ha! Here, it can be more transparent.

MFP aims to break Thailand’s alcohol monopoly
spidermike007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Thai beer is only rivaled by Serbian beer, and the mass produced American beers, in terms of the very low quality. Poor grade of hops, barely, and the production process seems to be entirely lacking in pride. Typical of the big monopolies. Even a large production beer, like Beer Laos blows away any Thai beer, hands down. Thailand desperately needs a vital craft beer movement, and the youth are ready to mount it. The dinosaurs would not stop protecting their "bankers" and move out of the way. Hopefully, the youth will. For some, craft beer is associated with anti-establishment politics. “It’s very similar to the French Revolution, which started from a cafe in Paris, where people drank coffee,” says Taopiphop. “The fuel of the revolution is not coffee any more, it’s craft beer.” Taopiphop adds that, after the 2014 coup in Thailand, many pro-democracy activists chose to meet in Bangkok’s craft beer bars. If only the younger Thais were allowed to express themselves, be inventive, be creative, be industrious, and use their smarts and ambition, Thailand could have a future. Craft beer is needed here, and so are the young entrepreneurs. But, that future appeared to be suppressed at every turn by the dinosaurs, who only answered to money, money, and even more money. Money is the God of lesser men. The money first attitude is holding back Thailand on so many levels. Let us hope the future is more visionary, and less clouded by dark greed and massive corruption.- 37 replies

When both the police and the judges behave like big babies and cowards, this is bound to happen. There is barely any deterrent. Lock him up in a prison, for an extended period, and he will start behaving himself. He will be very well treated by his fellow inmates, who will give him "special treatment". It is basic human conditioning. Let the prisoners do all the work.
