Road Rage Incident Leads to Shooting, Leaving One Injured in Bangkok
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Spectacularly ignorant youths, demonstrating misplaced bravado. Guys with absolutely no self esteem, who cannot handle being called out for their recklessness. Totally failed lives. I recommend finding them, charging them with attempted murder, and charging their parents with extreme negligence.- 48 replies

Move Forward Scores Surprise Victory; Pita To Become PM
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
No doubt stolen votes. The extent of the corruption of stench of these guys knows no bounds. Hopefully, Cha Cha will face serious charges soon, and either end up in prison or exile, after they track down his massive, stolen fortune. -
Trump re-election not just possible, but likely.
spidermike007 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
It was likely an enormous miscalculation to allow Biden to run again. He is far too old, he is not a particularly good choice, he has not made a very good president, and youth is needed. Who could have run, I have no idea. But, not Joe. Not again. And not Trump. Please. The nation cannot afford 4 more years of that orange monster. America truly feels like it is moving backwards, and is a very, very broken nation. -
The most important part of this equation was 42 seats for Prawit and 37 for Cha Cha. It was a huge repudiation for the status quo. The people said no, I don't think so, you guys are dinosaurs, we don't want you, we don't like you you need to disappear off the face of the earth. Let us hope these greedy, toxic, moronic, backwards, incapable nitwits get the message, and back down. Now, they need to figure out a way to get rid of the corrupt, army appointed senators. ASAP. By whatever means necessary. The youth have prevailed. It is a glorious day in Thailand!

How often aircon filter need changing?
spidermike007 replied to giddyup's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Never. Most have a fine filter that is easy to access, and only needs to be rinsed with a shower head, or toilet spray gun. It should be done every 2 weeks, or else you are subjecting yourself to a higher level of particulate matter than you need to. Also, have an AC guy take the whole thing apart every 6 months for a deep cleaning, and have him check the freon. Basic maintenance. Your AC will thank you for it. -
What can be done to make Thai Roads safer?
spidermike007 replied to Scott's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
I am not worried about the highway patrol actually patrolling the highways. I don't misbehave, nor am I an ignorant and reckless driver. Would love to see some of the absolute fools pulled over for the stupidity they exhibit daily, the trucks going 40kph, hogging the fast lanes, etc. It would be a step forward. -
No. It is due to the overall quality of life. If you are living off of foreign currency, you are likely living well here. Far better than you would back home. The people are kind, they have a wonderful humor and a lighthearted spirit (I just came back from the land of the heavy hearted and the forlorn, America) the weather is warmer, the food is great, the standard of living is high, the women are beautiful, and approachable, the police are not a nuisance. Need I go on? I could.

Thailand’s experiment with weed goes up in smoke
spidermike007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
The legalization of ganga may be the ONLY thing Anutin has ever gotten right, in his sorry political career. I don't like him. But, I think he was on the right track with this one. It is just getting with the times, and it represents progress, from the dinosaur clan. -
What can be done to make Thai Roads safer?
spidermike007 replied to Scott's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Easy solution. Are they patrolling the highways to find reckless drivers? No. Why? Because they do not care one iota about traffic safety. It is all lip service. The deaths mean nothing to them. The RTP are a blight on the nation. So are the highway patrol who absolutely refuse to patrol the highways.- 126 replies

Nobody knows how many people are killed annually, while taking a selfie. Crossing the roads, standing on the edge of a waterfall, etc. The risks young people are willing to take for their 6,700th selfie are ridiculous. I am getting to the point where I don't recognize this world anymore. People seem to be evolving backwards.

Thailand’s experiment with weed goes up in smoke
spidermike007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Few have ever died of ganga poisoning, a bad liver from ganga, nor a car accident from being high. Yet, millions around the world continue to die from alcohol related deaths. Do any of these political parties care? Are any of them willing to fight the billionaire brewers? Again, nincompoops being on the wrong side of history. -
Kiwi locked up in Thailand with no clothes, food or water
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Do we know if he was driving? Makes a big difference. I agree with strict drug and alcohol laws while driving. But, as a recreational drug, on one's own time, in a secure environment? We have all seen the ridiculous war on drugs has failed miserably, since the lovely and very, very innocent Nancy Reagan declared it. -
The act of a true desperado, smelling utter defeat and humiliation. Hey Cha Cha. It does not matter what you do at this point. You are despised and disrespected like never before. You stayed too long and you were never invited to the party, to begin with. You simply could not resist gouging in the power, perks and money.

Kiwi locked up in Thailand with no clothes, food or water
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Totally shameful bahavior on the part of the surly RTP. Arrested and jailed for over a year for two ecstacy pills? That is beyond dumb. No doubt they asked for a payout, and he could not come up with the funds. Nobody should ever be jailed for a tiny amount of recreational drugs. Ever. And no clothes, water or access to medications? What is this a Russian gulag, or a Chinese prison? You sorry RTP guys need to step up. You are a truly pathetic lot, and deserve all the bad press you get. . -
Stranded in Thailand: Bankrupt foreign woman unable to return home
spidermike007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Krabi News
L So I guess the new way to write a story is just to print here say, and not do any investigative work, do not do any fact checking, don't look into the details at all, just to translate what somebody else said. I guess that is journalism in 2023. One wonders why she can't get to the funds. One wonders why she can't go to the US Embassy and ask for help, from what I understand the US Embassy does have a program where they will lend American citizens the money to get home and they have to pay it back, so what's going on here? I think there's a lot more than meets the eye, the story does not sound 100%, yes tourists do go broke while they're overseas, but there are too many loose ends here.- 165 replies

I think I completely missed the point about (not) having kids
spidermike007 replied to Celsius's topic in Family and Children
I am one of the extremely fortunate few, to never have had kids. Unquestionably the smartest decision I have made in this lifetime. I like kids. But never wanted to own one. Way too much responsibility for me. I think having a kid or two is a worthy thing to do, if you are really up for it, and feeling it. I never did. And the world does not need another kid, at this time. In my opinion.
