Advice sought on best small hatchbacks/cars
spidermike007 replied to Toolong's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
I am about 183 cm tall and a fairly big guy. It is a little small getting in. But, once inside it is very comfy and spacious. Headroom is no problem. If you are 200cm tall, might be different. Worth it. Great car. Would buy another. -
This article is very misleading and highly disengenuous. Welcoming a refugee, who is fleeing political persecution and is penniless, is a completely different thing than welcoming a tourist, willing to spend alot of money to stay here. Please. It is immoral to describe a Russian tourist as a refugee. Sure, they are fleeing a madman dictator who seems to enjoy killing women and children. But, they don't fit the description of most refugees around the world.

The Fortuner is a real gas hog. Way too big for my taste. -

Go for the CX-30. Not big at all and very easy to drive, park, and maneuver. And it is a dream car on the highway. My Thai wife drives it, and loves it! So do I. -

In the US, the difference in cost between the CX-30 and the CX5 is not that much. Wonder why it is so much more here. I like the extra space of the CX5, but was unwilling to pay the vast difference. Go for either. Great cars. -
Advice sought on best small hatchbacks/cars

We did alot of research, before buying our Mazda CX-30. It is the best small SUV on the market, for the money, in my opinion. Handles great, looks good and is fun to drive. Well appointed, with a Bose sound system that sounds excellent. 1.2 million baht. Worth it. The Honda HRV and the Toyota Cross are utterly boring by comparison. -
How hard is it to re-sell cars in Thailand?
spidermike007 replied to Startmeup's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Used cars are very easy to sell here, if the price is fair, and the car is solid. I have sold a few cars and bikes. Facebook, Craigslist, many online forums for listing. The market is strong for used cars and motorbikes. -
Former national police chief Chakthip to face corruption charges
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
How often do we hear of an active police chief being brought up on charges? Never. Can't wait till they go after the big joke. It is likely that only some Papuan Korowai tribesmen have more skeletons in their closets. -
That would suggest mostly Ukrainians. I think most in Phuket are Russians. So, how about little Saint Petersburg?

Are there any immigration offices where bribes are not possible? Many even encourage them. On my last visit a very senior officer actually tried to refer me to an agent, who would accept the bribe on her behalf. The stink is nationwide. No amount of posturing by the Joke, changes anything. Same applies to the department he leads. The RTP. Does he not profit from all the nonsense?

Health minister Anutin named acting transport minister
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Since his genius and his skills know no bounds, it makes sense to load him up with important appointments. After all, if an engineer can become a health minister and expert during a pandemic, why not transport minister too? His mind is so vast, he has no limitations. Anutin the Amazing. -
PM Inspects Projects in Ratchaburi Province
spidermike007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Central Thailand
Excellent. More politicians should be shouted down here. The people should be able to express their extreme displeasure at the horrible performance of these goons. Prayuth deserves no respect. Kudos to this lady for telling it like it is. Cha Cha, you are a dreadfully poor leader. -
Nowhere else in the world have I seen people consistency take the kinds of chances and risks in the road, that they take here, with their families in the car. Nowhere. When they could have waited four seconds to make the uturn or turn onto the highway, and have a completely clear path, they instead choose to take a tremendous risk. It is beyond comprehension. I see it all the time. My eyes do not lie to me. This rarely ever happens to me in the US. The vast majority of terrible accidents here are human errors, that could not have been avoided. If I decide to cut you off on a highway, when you are going 120kph, and I am making a u-turn, and there was plenty of room behind you for me to make a safe turn, is that an error, if it results in a horrific, fatal accident, and I take the lives of you and your family? Sometimes an error is wearing white after Labor day in New York City. And sometimes an error is invading Germany in the winter.

CD Collection For Sale or For Use As Loan Guarantee
spidermike007 replied to maisodni's topic in Bangkok
Huh? I sold my CD collection ten years ago. Got around $200 for over 1,000 CD's. They are likely worth even less now. Does anyone listen to them anymore? Does anyone watch DVD's anymore? I have thousands of them, I would sell, but I doubt anyone would want them. Nigeria? -
Summer storm warning for Bangkok and 41 other provinces

Well, that is greed, short sightedness, avarice, gluttony, and rapacity, but it sure isn't pride, or anything good or noble. -
Protesters rally in Bangkok’s Ratchadamnoen on Tuesday morning
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
The real question is, now that covid is over, and the draconian restrictions have been eased, why aren't there millions of Thais protesting in the streets? Have they been scared into submission?
