No surprise here. Let's get rid of the masks. If the authorities want to keep them, to make sure the fear and paranoia remain, let's just say NO! The lack of science in this debate, and situation is stunning. It is really about keeping the people scared, at this time. Numbers continue to drop, standard cloth masks have limited effectiveness, wearing them outdoors is downright silly, and this ultra paranoid behavior has to stop. The government and goons like Anutin are largely responsible for an environment of fear at this stage of the game. This is about maintaining paranoia, control, and fear. After all, you would not want the people to get too comfortable. They might take to the streets again, and show their disdain for this thoroughly toxic, and nearly useless administration. Questioning the narrative is essential to life, prosperity and well being. Being a lemming is not a desirable trait. We all know how minor the effect of a cloth mask is. Defy nonsense. Be disobedient. Defy stupidity and big brother's diabolical scare mongering nonsense, every chance you get.

Let's get rid of the masks. If the authorities want to keep them, to make sure the fear and paranoia remain, let's just say NO! It is getting to the point to utter stupidity, and a total lack of common sense. The other day I was in an outdoor restaurant, and there was an entire table of people wearing masks. As soon as the food arrives, they will not only be taking off their masks, but digging into the common area food with their own spoons, which they have already eaten with. The lack of science in this debate, and situation is stunning. It is really about keeping the people scared, at this time. We seem to be surrounded by eccentric leaders
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I am not sure I would have used the term eccentric, which I normally consider to be an appealing quality. Who wants vanilla, anyway? Boring! Some of the people you named certainly qualify as emotionally stunted, dangerous, and bizarre. Eccentric seems like too much of a compliment for retrogrades like Bolsonaro, Putin, Kim, Prayuth and Trump. More like childish, power hungry, and diabolical in nature. -
She is in very good shape for a mother of three. And I give women credit for using what they have to allure customers. Smart business. Defy puritanism. Defy PC. A woman who is comfortable with her femininity can be a very attractive thing to behold.

Resumption of Hua Hin – Kuala Lumpur flights postponed
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Hua Hin and Cha-Am News
Many corporations have used covid as a cover, to cut down, and nearly eliminate customer care, and customer service. It is an atrocious example of the pandemic bringing out the worst of the corporate nature. All this while many are showing record profits, although this is likely not the case with regional airlines. Bots by their nature are incredibly stupid and ineffective. Very bad technology, in the infant stages of growth, obviously. -
And that is where Thailand comes in. As hosts of the APEC summit, to be held later this year in November, Thailand has a unique role to play in global diplomacy if it chooses to pursue that course. Of course, that would require the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to change its mandate and be more proactive in diplomacy. With so much at stake, Thai mediation in the crisis may seem like a far-fetched dream but if the men and women at the MFA could dream big enough, it is an opportunity for a diplomatic win that doesn’t come around very often. Well, Don Pramudwinai is one of the few members of this (bottom of the barrel) administration who actually has experience in his ministry, having served as ambassador to China, North Korea, and Mongolia, then ambassador to the EU, and as a permanent representative to the UN, and very briefly as ambassador to the US. However, Thailand does not appear to engage in much diplomacy as a 3rd party. Does he or anyone else in his ministry have any experience with this? What does Thailand bring to the table? What can they offer? Look at their history. Look at how incredibly timid, and morally bankrupt they have been in regard to the Burmese military fiasco. Can they shed the cloak of timidity long enough to be of service to anyone, other than themselves?

Danish man recalls being sexually abused for a week in Phuket
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
The world has gotten lost in a thick cloud of PC. It is so bad now even humor is censored. Comedy used to be the last frontier. Now, even stand up comics get criticized for picking on different kinds of people. How weak. How lame. How thin skinned and insecure can the world get? -
They simply need to start a nationwide culling program. Most soi dogs are a nuisance. Most are mangy, some are disease ridden, many are hungry, tired, and lead terrible lives of desperation. Some attack people, some terrorize neighborhoods. Many harass the domestic dogs, and cause them to bark all night long, like in my neighborhood. Nobody wants to do anything about it. Culling is the answer. If they found a budget for it, they could do it Western style. Round up the dogs, clean them up, vaccinate them, and put them up for adoption. The ones who are not adopted after 60 days are simply put down. Nothing cruel about it. Not doing something like this, is both cruel to the dogs and to the neighborhoods they infest.

Resumption of Hua Hin – Kuala Lumpur flights postponed
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Hua Hin and Cha-Am News
My guess is this has nothing to do with Air Asia, and everything to do with the Thai authorities. Air Asia has been interested in using Hua Hin as a regional hub, for years now, and all they have ever gotten is neanderthal style foot dragging from the officials here. Hua Hin Airport is one of the least utilized airports in Thailand, possibly even in the world. Shame on these guys. They can do so much better. Thailand desperately needs more regional airports, especially within a few hours of Bangkok. Anything to ease congestion, and save souls from the nightmare of getting in and out of Bangkok has to be a good thing for the nation and it's people. Shame. Shame. -
SURVEY: What are your biggest issues in Thailand?
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Agree. With most of that. But I do like alot of Thai people. Mostly women. LOL. I find many to be light-hearted, kind, goofy, humorous, and fun to be around. And I love the food. The good stuff. There is plenty of that if you like spicy, know where to look, or are fortunate to have a woman who is a gourmet chef at home! -
I have never heard of an airline being held responsible for turbulence caused by stormy weather. Maybe it was his first flight? Perhaps he is looking for a payday? Maybe he is a bit fragile? A scared of his shadow type? Man up. We can all deal with a little turbulence. Decades ago, I was on a flight in India, on an old prop plane, and we went directly into a massive monsoon storm. Nearly everyone was barfing, and it got so bad people stopped even trying to use the barf bags. Luggage was flying out of the compartments, people were crying and screaming, and we all thought we were going down, and none of us were going to survive the flight. Worst flight of my life, and I have had some bad ones! Even the flight attendants said it was one of the worst they had experience, when I asked them, after we finally landed. I never for a moment even considered blaming it on the airline. It was nature's wrath. Most adults know that.

SURVEY: What are your biggest issues in Thailand?
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I used to have more issues than I do now. I worked on my attitude, which was getting in the way of appreciating Thailand for what it is, and was clouding my experience here. Used to stress over stupid stuff, as you can see from some of my past posts. Used to allow the politics to make me angry. Now it is not something I take seriously, just something I comment on, without anger or an emotional investment. Now, I just tend to laugh it off. Spent some real time back in the US recently, and it allowed some clarity and perspective, that I am very grateful for. Now, I just chuckle at most of the nonsense. Water off a duck's back, so to speak.- 248 replies

You never give any sort of contractor here all the money in advance. A small deposit maybe. If he is known to you. I do agree it is hard to get money back from most Thais. The tale of the One Way store. Great stuff. You could not make this stuff up, if you tried! I went to a local mini mart. Bought six bottles of soda water. The old guy told me I had to pay 5 baht deposit, per bottle. I said ok. Went back with my bottles later, and wanted to buy some more. He quoted me a price that did not take into account my 30 baht deposit. I said I get the deposit back, and then pay you for the water, right? He said no, the deposit is one way! I would have been upset, if I was not laughing so hard. I said no, this farang is one way, that way, and never come back. I took my bottles and left. It was well worth it. Have been telling that story to my friends for weeks. We all love it! I have had hundreds of these kinds of encounters here in LOS. Always amazed by them. There is a complete disregard for the future, for future patronage, for the idea of loyalty, and rewarding you for such. It has happened with merchants I had been dealing with for years. Over tiny amounts of money. Of course, they lose me for life. But, they do not seem to care one iota. I am a business owner. I will do nearly anything to retain a loyal customer. Whatever it takes. A full refund, an exchange, just tell me what you want. Here? None of that. Tomorrow? Why think about tomorrow, when I can make an extra 30 baht today?

It is the responsibility of a town or city to engage in frequent culling of the soi dog population. I know some snowflake types will accuse me of cruelty, for even suggesting this. But, the reality is these pests are not wanted, needed, and cause a multitude of problems for the communities. They serve no useful function, and most lead miserable lives. Pets are different. Soi dogs are a pestilence.

Poorly engineered and built railings on many balconies here. So, does a low railing and intoxication add up to suicide, or are they afraid to say this was an accident? If it was an accident, perhaps someone would have to take responsibility for it? Or was it something else, just like the David Carradine suicide, was likely something else?

Oh my God. I just cannot stand it when someone makes a face at me. I have zero self esteem, do not really like myself, have accomplished nothing in this life, and do not count for much. So, when someone makes a face at me, I just cannot handle it, and I must stab the terrible offender. Kids have to know they cannot make a face at me.

Barely convicted. Thong Pha Phum district courthouse in Kanchanaburi province today convicted Premchai for illegal weapons possession (a six-month jail sentence), the killing of a pheasant (another two months) and conspiracy to poach wildlife (eight months) but acquitted him of the most serious crime, reported BBC Thailand. Charges related to the possession of the black panther carcass were instead pinned on the three other defendants in the case.

Not to mention the CDC, the FDA and Big Pharma. So much of the covid narrative is misleading, not science based, and seems to be following a multiplicity of differing agendas. One thing we do know. It is not nearly as dangerous, as they would have us believe. Especially Omi, which is the best thing that has happened to us regarding this pandemic.

Danish man recalls being sexually abused for a week in Phuket
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Pretty horrific stuff if true. And there are countless reasons why one would not report something like this, so it is easy to dismiss the scepticism. However, this kind of thing happens all over the world. There is nothing specific to Thailand, about this story. The world is full of deviants, rapists, and sick people, devoid of morality. This is more symptomatic of the state of humanity, than it is about Thailand. It simply happened here. -
Not hard to believe the allegations. And of course Thailand would deny them. Yet, the Thais have not yet been able to prove ownership of the companies. I have no issues with the sanctions. CCP state sponsored dumping is not good for any nation except China. And Thailand in the short term, apparently. Busted! More Prayuth style moral bankruptcy exposed.
