Quite possible. A friend of mine was just suggesting the same thing. Especially as it applies to Tik tok. Chinese spies at work!

Buy insurance: British tourist issues warning after moped crash
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I always wondered why they drive more aggressively in a tropical island. One would think most would be more laid back. I don't know where I am going, but I know I have to get there quickly! -

Social media is tearing apart society and contemporary culture at the seams. One more generation of this, and all bets are off. -
Khon Kaen Airport Expects 5 Million Yearly Passengers
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
Between KK and the new Pattaya airport, no need for Swampy anymore. That is 45 million alone! Way to go guys. -
As an American I agree. And I would go so far as to state that the US will never again have a decent, halfway noble leader, with a modicum of integrity or leadership ability. The office has become so foul, and no decent person will have any interest in subjecting themselves to it. Which leaves only megalomaniacs, creeps, crooks, and wannabe power mongers. Guys like Prayuth and Trump. It is a sad prediction, I know.

Arrest Warrant Out For Ex-Interior Minister Over Graft Charges
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Why aren't current ministers ever charged with crimes? Do they have total, blanket immunity? Or, is that a dumb question? -
Buy insurance: British tourist issues warning after moped crash

The Southern islands tend to attract alot of tourists and some expats who have little to no experience riding a bike, and figure "what could possibly go wrong in a relaxed island environment"? In reality these islands are some of the most dangerous places in the world to ride a bike, and the number of injuries and deaths that happen are staggering. I used to live down there and personally witnessed many bike accidents. Also have a friend who worked for Samui Rescue for many years, and he told me the authorities do everything in their power to cover up the fatality totals. Her facial scars will be permanent. It would require quite a reconstructive plastic surgeon, doing micro stitches for her to have any chances of avoiding substantial scarring, due to the scars being primarily horizontal. It will be a daily reminded for her, of a rather cavalier decision, and perhaps not exercising greater care driving. She may have encountered a patch of gravel, sand, rocks or oil and lost total control of her bike. Maybe. -
Taking ones time to get to know someone, exercising prudence, making sure someone is worthy of your devotion and support, and being patient is a real mans game. It is done by someone with a high degree of self respect and self love. Some desperados just don't have it in them. You could caution him. But, it is likely he is simply in the too deep, at this point. You have to behave correctly and wisely from the beginning. I know guys who have lost their life savings on a foolish woman. But, who was the fool, really?

Who cares? You like the soup, eat it. For most adults, we don't need the approval of the world. Water off a duck's back. For those with high enough self esteem, anyway.

Darwin was right. The theory of natural selection, means we all have to exhibit certain survival skills, to thrive in this world. Self protection is just one of those skills. Some have it, some do not. It takes certain qualities to survive on the roads here. Patience, being very conscious of your surroundings, driving defensively, avoiding excessive speed, especially in town, following basic traffic rules and laws and avoiding being overly stupid, at all times.

They should be paying you at least 40,000 baht per month for your forecast.

The distance from Paris to Bangkok is about 5,400 miles. A direct flight is 10 hours. Berlin is NOT 8,600 miles. It is about 8,600 km. Also about 10 hours, direct. The distance from Los Angeles to Bangkok is about 8,600 miles, via Taipei. That is a long flight. From New York it is about the same distance. 20 hours, minimum. And there are a very limited number of direct flights from the US. Big difference. And if the earth were flat it would be alot further!

Very few of us are buying this latest attempt to obfuscate what the RTP has been doing since it's founding in 1860. Very few of it's 230,000 members are honest and earn a livelihood strictly from their salary. The RTP at it's inception seems to have been created with a status quo from the government. We will NOT pay you a living wage, but you have a franchise, and the limit of your income is based solely on your own creativity and initiative, and you will always be protected. Is that not the case? Are they finding the government and army officials who are engaged in drug trafficking or sex slavery? No. Why? Because those goons are protected. Are they patrolling the highways to find reckless drivers? No. Why? Because they do not care one iota about traffic safety. It is all lip service. The RTP are a blight on the nation. So, even if this guy was sincere, which of course he is not, where would you begin to change that culture? You know where? You would double all salaries. And invest in modern equipment, forensic labs and an effective highway patrol. Probably a trillion baht to start. The RTP cannot get enough bad press, as far as I am concerned. To call them derelict in their duties would be too diplomatic. They barely practice any law enforcement, and work the franchise, as if their future fortunes depended upon it, which it seems to. The RTP is a blight on the face of the nation. Kudos to Charlene An, for calling out these corrupt creeps. Keep it up guys. Hopefully you will get what is coming to you. One can only dream. The accused cops said they were ready and prepared to give evidence in the case. Your honor, I am RTP. You and I both know I am above the law, and protected at every level. They even told us that in the academy. That is all the evidence I need. The person making the complaint is just a citizen. They don't count. You know that. I know that. The RTP are superior to citizens. We have the power and you are sworn to protect us. So, drop the charges and let me get on with my franchise.

This is rich. If you look at the true meaning of the words whitewashing, obfuscation, deflection and disinformation, this fits the bill perfectly. "tangible evidence of the government’s determination to develop democracy in Thailand and to respect divergent viewpoints". Really? So why is LM being used to lock up those who are critical of this administration? Why are protests being put down? Why, if this is anything approaching a democracy, are the goons so intolerant of dissent and opposing points of view?

When considering the distance and time spent going to Thailand and back, it makes sense that Americans would stay longer. Basic reasoning would have told me that.

Koh Tao deaths and the mystery around them
spidermike007 replied to scubascuba3's topic in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao
The cops on Dark Taa have always been defenders and excuse makers for the mischief making familes, and serial killing family on the island. They are bought and paid for. Zero credibility. Nada. -
Koh Tao deaths and the mystery around them

In all the years I have been here, I have never seen the Bangkok Post do a real investigative article. They don't have it in them. Copy and paste. -
Taxi Scams Remain Top Complaint Among Foreign Tourists in Thailand
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The taxi unions, or representatives appear to be far stronger than the army, or any of the officials. Reforms are promised, then they go back to their old ways. If only Prayuth were not so weak, feeble and insincere.
